I admit, I had high hopes for Bungie.
As a game developer, Bungie gave me something no one else has: over 14 years of fun. Of course... I played Myth II for a very long time -- which, in turn, pushed me to Halo: CE. The rest, as they say, "is history."
Halo was my drug of choice -- Xbox was the gateway.
Now, I'm not so sure.
I get the "exclusive" content. I get the "exclusive" Alpha access for PS peeps. I get the "exclusive" white PS4 console. I get the "exclusive" Beta access. I get the "exclusive" content for future DLC. I get it.
What I don't get, is the seemingly calculated, almost malicious, steps Bungie has been taking to exclude their Xbox fanbase at every turn.
Let's all admit something right now: Bungie's online community (hell, Bungie as a company) wouldn't be where they are today without their Xbox fanbase.
Don't give me that BS that Halo came out on Mac "first." No one can say with a straight face that Mac would've taken Bungie where they are today. No one.
I know this is getting long, so I'll wrap it up.
I'm mad at myself, mostly. I never expected Bungie to act the way they are. I never expected Bungie to act like a pseudo-Call of Duty-franchise -- to purposely exclude an entire population of their fans. All for what? Money? Give me a break!
... And that's my fault. It's my fault for assuming Bungie was different. It's my fault for assuming Bungie wouldn't play into the corporate B.S. that we see from so many other god-awful gaming companies. It's my fault to assume Bungie would treat all their fans equally. It's my fault for thinking Bungie actually cared.
You see, Bungie started this "console war," not us. Bungie chose to, at every occasion, shove it in an Xbox owner's face that they will never get what PS players get. They will never truly experience Destiny like a PS player will. Xbox is just an after thought. Xbox has turned into Bungie's red-headed step child (cue idiotic pithy comment by DeeJ) -- and there is no apology in sight.
It's sad, really. When someone you've looked-up to completely turns their back on you. It's enough to make a grown man cry. But, not this man!
Oh, well. I'll know better next time. Screw you, Bungie.

2 RepliesI mean this in the least aggressive way possible, but WTF? You must be new here. This argument has been basically over for weeks. I understand how you feel, I felt that way at one point too. But I realized, after doing a little reading on the internet and listening on the forums, that this isn't even close to the truth of the situation, and that the single worst thing to do about it would be to write a rant. Bungie does not hate Xbox. The "exclusion" of their Xbox fans and the favoring of PS4 is solely for the purpose of attracting their previously nonexistent Playstation audience. It's business. They don't hate us (yes, I'm an Xbox guy), and they didn't owe us anything anyway. We get the game. We should be happy that Bungie has decided to make this amazing new game for the world, not raging over the "fact" that "Bungie hates Xbox".
On the off chance that you are a troll, I say well done indeed!
Are you a Bungie fan? Or a Microsoft fan?? At least Bungie isn't being rushed to put their new game out this time.

Edited by MPBIRD: 7/18/2014 11:34:08 PMAs a PS4 player, I think the early alpha and beta are pretty fair. Not really a big deal, not like I would need 9 days anyways. I had maxed out my character in 5 hours. All that I can do is replay the campaign or do capture the flag, which is the only competitive mode. As for the white console, come on its just a ps4 thats white and includes the STANDARD game. Really not a big deal. Now the year DLC, I understand why your upset. And I agree, thats pretty weak for you guys to have to wait. Especially those of you who pre-ordered the Limited or Ghost edition copies that are just as much as the PS4 versions. I get it, you're upset. All I can say is look, no matter what Xbox will get destiny, and you're gonna have fun.

1 ReplyYour opinions and anger are directed at the wrong company. These deals are made between Sony and Activision. Stop bitching at bungie for a deal they didn't make. And yes, Xbox is purposefully excluded...those were the terms of the Activision and Sony contract.
-
1 ReplyEnjoy the game ! Say thank you ! Shut it !!!!

2 RepliesEdited by GuardianOne: 7/16/2014 8:52:23 PMAll I have to say to XBOX players is, BAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA Now you'll know how playstation users who love COD have felt for years. Suck it up buttercup!

Edited by LuXx1200: 7/18/2014 10:31:45 PMYou realize that Bungie helped Sony design the Dualshock 4 right? I think Bungie is just trying to apologize to PS people for having one of the best Xbox exclusives (Halo) well, you know, exclusive.
-
Will you xbox people shut up??? You get cod content before ps... Microsoft bought titanfall for you and all you do is whine about beta times.
-
1 ReplyI know xbox is getting the beta late, but this might be a bit much. You sound INCREDIBLY butthurt.
-
1 ReplyWhy don't you just buy both systems? Fanboys never win: )
-
3 RepliesI'm An Xbox 360 Player, always have been, Just be happy that we get at least SOME time to play the beta, face it, it's better then nothing, and at least you get some loot for playing the Beta.
-
1 ReplyBro stop whining! You sound like a woman! Xbox this play station that! Dude sit down enjoy the game! And to end all this non sense Bungie created PC/Mac games years before steping into creating console platform based games! Now shut the f*** up and enjoy this amazing game!! THIS IS DESTINY!!! it's for every one!! :D

3 RepliesLol the but hurt never ends
in bungie we tru7t
This is really Activision calling the shots most likely.
-
4 RepliesYou do understand that the whole reason bungie is pushing so hard to please playstation more is because they have no fanbase with the Sony console right? They know they have us Xbox guys at their side, they know where their roots are. They don't need to give us extra stuff to entice us to come to their game. But with the Sony boys and girls, they do. Because a vast majority of them probably didn't think much of bungie before, simply due to Halo's xbox exclusivity. So now, Bungie has to push hard to make them happy, to gain their trust, and their loyalty. The same doesn't need to be said about us on Xbox. Most of us anyways, by the looks of it. Some people just don't understand..
-
9 RepliesBungie does not need you Bungie never needed you Bungie made the Xbox Activision is calling the shots Piss off.
-
1 ReplyDon't like it? Don't buy it. The rest of us can enjoy it well enough without you.
-
1 ReplyDude what... "I'm mad at myself, mostly. I never expected Bungie to act the way they are." Just WHAT? AHAHAHAH you literally said you are mad at yourself and then blamed it on Bungie.
-
1 ReplyEdited by Miester Shake: 7/17/2014 3:15:06 PMI don't get this. If the company has done something you don't like as a consumer you have a recourse: -You don't have to buy their product. Feel free not to participate in this offering. Based on how alienated you feel, you should do just that. It wouldn't make you any less of a fan.
-
20 RepliesIt's not that bad. Ps owners never even got Halo so it sort of evens out. Not really though because you guys still get Destiny.
-
and why are we still crying over this ... its said and done posting stupid self centered one-sided topics like this is useless and is taking up valuable internetz go sit in a corner and count the dimples on the wall
