Let us, for a moment, imagine a hypothetical situation.
So, you're in a bunker and you have no idea how you got there. You wake up, and somebody claiming to be from the Brother Darkhood is explaining the situation. You are at an unknown location, and in the next room there is a totally innocent stranger. On a table in the room is a length of rope, a hunting knife and a pistol.
You are told that you have the opportunity to murder this individual, in whatever way you choose, and there'll be no legal or social repercussions from it - the only consequence will come from your conscience and sense of morality. To raise the stakes, there is a 25% chance he will suffer an excruciatingly painful death if you don't kill him yourself.
Would you do it? I probably would.

I have no wish to kill someone who has done nothing to me. If he is dying slowly and in agonizing pain when I find him... that's a little different...
-
nope there is no reason for killing in cold blood like this in fact, there is rarely reason for killing in the first place, but people tend to take things far too personally, and then other people tend to make mistakes that shouldn't have been considered at all anyway.
-
easy. pull the trigger. i honestly dont see why i would want to kill him. was he eyeing my girlfriend? or sleeping with my mom? but i wouldnt really have a problem with it if i had incentive.
-
No money, no murder.
-
2 RepliesWhat happens the other 75% of the time though? His life is spared or is it death but not exceedingly painful?
-
I wouldn't do it.

Edited by Loads A Nigdalf: 2/20/2014 3:33:23 AMMight as well Seeing as there'sprobably no other chance I'll get to try out killing someone while getting away with it

Edited by Luis: 2/20/2014 2:01:02 AMDestroy the Dark Brotherhood for betraying Sithis, then make my own brotherhood that worships Anu

Kill the Brotherhood member.
-
Only Elder Scrolls fans will get the reference. Anyways...No, I wouldn't be able to kill them.
-
Incapacitate the cult member talking to me, free the other guy, walk away casually while calling police to bust the cult.
-
Kill them both and proceed to take down the entire brotherhood.
-
Kill them both
-
-
Use neither of the options and instead resort to strangling him with my bare hands, "May Sithis let me join him in eternal damnation..." "I am his tool and I employ what nobody gives me but what I already have..."
-
Sithis would be pleased.
If this is implying they die either way, I would shoot them. Also putting the perspective of being that innocent man and I was told there was a 25% chance of me being painfully killed, or walk away fine, I think I'd rather die and not risk it. But hey, who knows until that happens?

14 RepliesHow creative can I get with those three items. Exciting.
Brother Darkhood
>Dark Brotherhood You do know that no one's going to sue you for copyright infringement on here, right?

ROFLMAO! These kinds of threads make me laugh so much.

4 RepliesNo repercussions and the chance to spare them a painful death? Sure, pistol to the back of the head. Sparing them torture or a painful death at the hand of a sicko who gets off on that is the right thing to do, even if it leaves a messy conscience.
-
I WOULD INTEROGATE HIM ON HIS WHOLE LIFE BEFORE MAKING MY DECISION.
-
No? The only benefit is sparing him from a 25% chance of a painful death. Not much reason to kill a man.
-
No way. There isn't even any incentive apart from the 25% chance that he'll suffer otherwise. Why the hell would any non sociopathic individual choose to kill him?
-
3 RepliesNah, I can't even bring myself to kill non aggressive npcs on Fallout: New Vegas.
