Or as they are referred to in The Corps, an argument over cover. Amongst other things. The review and survey is to see what active and reserve Marine's think of the idea and directive to unify and find a "middle ground" between male and female uniforms.
The Marine Corps Uniform Board seeks active-duty and Reserve Marines' feedback on three uniform-related issues. One issue is whether the Corps should adopt universal, unisex dress and service caps, either the the current male frame cap with modifications, left, or the so-called 'Dan Daly' cap, right, which had previously been identified as the replacement for the female 'bucket' cover.
The movement to make female uniforms more similar to those worn by men comes as the Defense Department begins to open more roles in combat units to women. But, the Marine Corps has considered changes to female uniforms, particularly dress blue uniforms, several times over the years and has been met by resistance each time.
Most recently, women at Marine Barracks Washington conducted a field test in which they wore male covers and dress blue uniforms with Mandarin collars rather than lapels. The results of those tests were not immediately available, however Marine Corps Times readers — men and women — voiced strong opposition.
I don't know about anyone else, but the smaller, unisex "Dan Daley" looks bad on both male and female Marines. I also think that when it comes to dress blues, the Mandarin collar on the male Marine and the lapel collar on the female Marine are... sharp and appropriate for both wearers.
What about you? Should uniforms be so "uniform" as to be gender-neutral and as identical as possible, even between the sexes?

I think they should have uniforms that compliment the body type for maximum comfort.

Edited by risay_117: 10/24/2013 3:09:49 PMForget it, but if they can keep it stylish then go for it. Though everyone will have to remember there will be differences in uniform in both genders.

The UNSC have the same hats/helmets so the USMC should too :D
But seriously, They shouldn't change it if it's going to piss off a lot of the soldiers.
