So after I posted a question thread about the Destiny books I saw some deep divisions in the preferences of some of our readers, even some saying they don't like videogame books! (I know, right?)
So I've decided to make a thread where you say who would be your ideal Destiny author!
I'd be excited to see Patrick Rothfuss as an author, he seems pretty good at medival fantasy, I think such a skill could translate into the world of Destiny quite well.
Whose name do you want to see underneath the title of a Destiny novel? (you can choose more than one)

James S.A. Corey

George R. R. Martin -- since we have a 10 year plan.

Edited by gmf8080: 2/2/2015 3:30:46 AMI want them but I'll never read them. Plus there should be more in game story before we make stuff outside of it.
-
Yes please. The halo books where ,imo, really good, so I trust Bungie can find some good authors for the Destiny Book
-
There would be an awful lot of blank pages in that book.

Even though the story line is short, I personally believe that it would make a descent chapter book. Through the beginning when your Ghost finds you, to when you must destroy the Garden's Heart, it has enough information in the story itself to make an OK book.

4 RepliesA Destiny book? There isn't even enough story to frighten the children.

i would absolutely read these books if it gave me a story for the game at all.... there is so much sweet lore in this beast but almost none of it is playable or discover-able without mass amounts of digging and searching

1 ReplyI would like to read some books with a solid story. But how about making Destiny into a bad @$$ Anime. Hows about that?

1 ReplyDamn this was necrobumped.

Don't want any books. The Halo books expanded on an epic story that the games got you invested in. There is no story in Destiny so no investment.
-
Eric Nylund. Karen Traviss can just.... No.

1 ReplyDon't get me wrong, I'm enjoying the game, but they couldn't write a Highlights magazine with the amount of story that's currently available. Why would I want to buy a book for a story when the "rich cinematic storytelling" we were promised is actually less than your average Mario game?
-
1 ReplyI liked the Gears and Halo books quite a lot, so I'd choose either Karen Traviss or Eric Nylund.

I think I could write them. See, watch. "3 Guardians who are never mentioned by name, race, or gender fought an alien Priest, Giant Computer Orb, Nexus Robot, Space Turtle, an Ogre with a laser face, and an AI robot who learned how to not fall off of a ledge thousands of times over and over again. They do this because a little robot directs them too while he waits exactly 3 waves of enemy attacks to open a door. The Guardians returned to the tower because the darkness is retreating, and they were called home." I'm thinking that I could make approximately $500 million from that.

1 ReplyDean Koontz and for Wes Craven and Ridley Scott to direct the movie

Don't have any names but would be interesting to have all the lore including since I dont fully grasp the whole collapse and Kabr's fireteam etc thing

Edited by Shadow: 10/30/2014 11:20:46 PMLol if a book was written it'll probably be a 5 page story because that's what destiny is right now.
Each page $19.99
4 RepliesWhats the point of a book? The game has no story at all. So how would they make a book?
