It’s good, it’s very different from D3. Part of that is the class, part of that is the redesign of the game. I settled in on a cold specialist. (Though I use the lightning whip for close combat) Because it seems to have the best balance of offense and defense…and you have to be much more mindful of defense in D4. Both defensive spells, but also making well-timed use of dodge to avoid the heavy-hitters. If you try to stand there and slug it out with them or the bosses they will chop you up and mail the pieces back to your family. Plus cold does a good job of crowd control so you can (usually) avoid being overrun by mobs. The ultimate is really powerful but some monsters seem to have the power to knock you out of it. Can’t figure out if that’s a bug or a feature. The only down side is that some of the spells are kind of fiddle to aim (blizzard). I like how you have to be thoughtful in terms of how you combine things. Because you can easily wind up with an unworkable glass cannon build if you’re not paying attention.
