The state of pvp...
I have over 11000 hours in this game with about 7000 of them being in PvP alone, I've been a dedicated player ever since D1 alpha, I have over 50 carries in D1 trials and easily over 200 double carries in D2 trials and been in the top 500 trials players many times. About 6-7 months ago I finally gave up, I got sick and tired of adapting to the slow and boring playstyle that PvP has become, of sitting in the back of the map, staring at corners and lanes with scouts and pulses and crutching on sidearms. I just built my first PC and after getting used to mouse and keyboard I decided to hop on destiny to see what's been going on and what I've missed. my first game of PvP and... surprise surprise, the meta and flow of PvP has not changed at all. first game back, 6 stack citan rampart titans with no time and DMT in spawn, warlocks with no time and scouts with their rifts in spawn, crouch walking hunters with pulses just staring at lanes. its just not a fun experience anymore, I left without even completing my first game back and got a "competitive crucible suspension" from quickplay, who tf came up with that idea. if you want people to play PvP and to actually complete games and maybe even IDK... have fun, FIX PVP. I was gone for almost a year and almost nothing has changed, how do you guys not see the problem here? even with the community telling you what's wrong and what we want. maybe listen the the people who actually play the game and not "Billy-Bob" over here who has a full time job and plays once a week and gets destroyed by a half decent player with a handcannon/ shotty/ sniper and gives up on PvP and comes to the forums to complain about skill gap. I've never complained about the game, I even turned it into a job for a little bit, but I and way more people than I can even fathom, has had enough. none of my top PvP friends even play anymore because of these exact reasonings. I'm just sad that this is how my favorite game has ended for me and for all of my friends. This message to Bungie will get blown over and will not matter but... Fix PvP, put it back to the way we all liked it, I'm not the first person to say this, and I definitely will not be the last. That is all. thanks for reading my rant and listening. Goodbye Destiny, goodbye Bungie.

1 ReplySorry (not really) to say it, but people that main D2 pvp are wrong in the head department. Look, you like it, ok I get it. But you need come to grips with simple fact that D2 pvp was, is and always will ne utter and complete garbage.

2 RepliesI mean yea we all know this and i agree they should not listen to billy bob once a week gamer but they should also not listen to recov streamers who play this game 24/7 while drenching their chair. Because of these stinky chair gamers, we now have tournaments in quickplay and quitter penalties in casual playlists. They literally stacked for casual quickplay to pubstomp with the most bs and cheesy loadouts possible and wonder why billy bob complains. I am above average aswell but i don't turn into a gremlin who stacks for casual game modes to pub stomp while running absolute meta cheese. You and your guys are and were part of the issue. YOU made D2 pvp trash. It's always bad when a developer starts catering to minorities. The top 1 % or the bottom 1 % are meaningless minorities. The massive casual player population is seeing the short end of the stick here. And Bungie doesn't care.

Not reading that wall of text but yeh games -blam!- just quit bro, I came back today to see if SBMM was still in full effect and it is lmao. In quickplay Uninstalled after like 2 games. From halo 3 to this, amazing. Back to better pvp games

Just fix conections I shouldn't be playing the world's largest players every match where only 2 out of ever 10 shot land then the appear behind me then I die then there back where I was shooting I tired of garbage conections they have ruined pvp over the past 2 years

2 RepliesPretty much summarizes the entire game, not just pvp. Crucible has been neglected for years, and so have strikes and gambit. The rest of the game is recycled content. It’s not even fun to log in to Destiny any more. It’s more of a chore. Destiny had so much potential; it is amazing the path that Bungie has taken - to NOT capitalize on the foundation the original developers laid nor value their extremely dedicated player base.

6 RepliesTeams "camping in spawn" don't have an advantage. If they're actually camping spawn, they are giving up map control. That means your team gets both B Flag and Heavy Ammo. That's a great trade-off. If the other team is camping the middle of the map, then that's on you. Teams are supposed to keep control of the middle of the map so that they can play B Flag and take Heavy. Be better And btw, HCs are the most used primary. Shotguns are the most used special. I mention that, because you seem like a HC/Shotty whiner. Also, your WALL OF TEXT >> GREAT WALL OF CHINA

15 RepliesI can't believe so many people seem to think that playing with a pulse rifle means standing still and sitting in their spawn. When No Time first became popular this year it was amazing how many people just stood still when they were using it and now that's supposedly the way the game is supposed to be played. The unfortunate thing is that back during the hand cannon/shotgun only times that playstyle had its issues as well. But the thing I wish wasn't the case today is that so much of the game seems to be about only letting most people be as competitive as the least competitive players.

It is the sandbox/PvP team and their management. I don’t think they know what to do. They have created this mess and cannot fix it. Pve has been fun thank god.

4 RepliesWhen clash was on the rotation it was fun as people actually attacked all the time. Now that clash is every other game people are just sitting back with pulse, scout, autos and when you close the gap the shields and wells appear and then you have long range side arms (should never have got that buff) or 25 meter ohk fusions and if you manage to get past that you have the shotguns.. It wouldn’t be so bad but on disjunction you’re just running from a to c just to try get a couple of camper kills.. They need to change clash to eruption and all will be well 🤔

6 RepliesI agree with you, also note that the Git goon goons that used to plague the forums and troll people, well as it turns out a good many of them who actively fought against SBMM where in fact using modded controllers. So Git Good actually translates to Git Good at manipulating the game (to a degree) so guys using strike packs want to play against those who don't , it's that "edge" they seek to fulfill the need to dump on people. So I can see why Bungie doesn't want to sink a large amount of capital into a game mode that has an active player base destroying it for their own gratification. Personally I think the best thing they could do is split the game in half and separate the two modes, make the PVP free to everyone and the PVE paid . Literally two separate games, Destiny Crucible can be like Apex legends, but the two sandboxes stay separate and then Bungie can drop the hammer on the PVP mode and make radical changes, without having to measure the impact it would have on PVE and vise versa
