Please seperate PvP nerfs and PvE nerfs.

Not even 2 weeks ago I masterworked my Shinobu's Vow after using them for months. I loved skip grenades more than anything else in this game. And what happens next? Ya nerf em for literally no reason. Why? They weren't a problem in PvP and who cares if it's good in PvE. It can't kill a single legionary in a tight-knit group of 3. At the very least buff Shinobu's to give pre-nerf skip grenades. My heart sank when I saw the nerf and I still have no idea why you did it. Ideally I'd ask for an undoing of the nerf but I know that won't happen.

  • Don’t blame PvE peeps… we like stuff that clears trash ads! The more ads it clears the quicker we can get on to the next part of any given quest. If anything it’s PvP snobs complaining about literally everything in the game as if Bungie couldn’t do anything right. You know how many “Balance PvP” posts get logged on here? You don’t see PvE players complaining about something being OP. We like massive death and destruction of our enemies- the only people killing it for us is streamers over exaggerating our favourite toys. Or PvP players on that 24/7 whine fest. Can’t tell you how often a Bungie sponsored mainstream streamer posts about “How broken” whatever exotic is till Bungie nerfs it. (I get three notifications from Azteccross every single day about Lorley Splendor, since that exotic dropped!) Love the exotic! Titans typically have garbage for exotics. Titans aren’t built like everyone else and as soon as their exotics get nerfed- they’re basically not very enjoyable. Lorley Splendor is the 5th good exotic imo for Titans- finally some synergy with super perks and combinations! Finally we can build! But as long as Azteccross keeps telling Bungie to nerf it by constantly bringing it up- he’s going to kill the exotic for us PvE players. And this is why a good portion of the community hate “content creators”

    • They HAVE separated them. They DO separate them. The number of times they've said "X is now Y. (Unchanged vs PvE Combatants" or "X is now Y. (Unchanged vs Guardians)" is too high to count. Don't know why you people still exist. And by you people...I mean the ones demanding they separate pve/pvp nerfs. If something gets nerfed in PvE AND PvP, it was SUPPOSED to be nerfed in both by Bungie's design. They have, can, will, and do separate all nerfs to be exclusive to the mode they want it nerfed in. If it's nerfed in both, they wanted it nerfed in both.

    • I'm sure they can completely separate it. I've played actual MMOs that have completely different stats and potencies for pvp and PvE. They basically just set it up as modifiers in the background. Skip grenades too strong? X% recast and damage in crucible, etc, etc.

    • They already do. When you see patch notes and it says “reduced damage against Guardians”, that’s them separating. I’m sure you made this post about a specific nerf, so maybe just say that next time?

but the nerf was unnecessary because they already nerfed the main problem it had due to pvp complaints during Beyond Light they nerfed the tracking on them their are times when the second and third of the skip grenades won't track players even if you throw at them making it unreliable that's why I stop using them and this Nerf just made it worse

      • Ideally you can wait for the rework to arc and hopefully it will justify it.

        • They’re needing it now because of arc 3.0. Look at sunspots. They got nerfed for lorelys and solar 3.0 (and solar 3.0 hasn’t even come out yet).

        • I had an axion bolt build in PVE, but it’s not as strong when I used vortex grenade. They already made them easy to shoot, by adding aim assist to the projectiles in PVP. Then they also nerfed it even more, by making it the slowest charging grenade in the game.

          • They've been doing that already for years. If something is nerfed in PVE it's because Bungie doesn't like how it works in PVE. If something get's nerfed in PVP it's because Bungie doesn't like how something is working in PVP. The TWABs routinely state a nerf is for one or another. If it's both its cause they want ti that way.

            • We've been asking for this since the beginning of the franchise, and bungie has consistently said 'no'. They will do it from time to time, but won't commit to it fully. So we're stuck with what we're stuck with.

While they can and do separate nerfs sometimes, they’ve stated since the beginning of Destiny that they want weapons and abilities to feel largely consistent in both modes so there isn’t too much of a difference. Problem is, there are a LOT of people who will never even see the difference because they don’t play both. Not to mention the painfully obvious fact that balancing PvP is a permanently lost cause, considering the amount of gear, abilities and perk combos that exist. And I’ve disagreed with a majority of the PvE nerfs anyway, so any time they justify a broad hit to a piece of gear across modes, it rings hollow on the PvE side. The game modes in Destiny should have been separated from the beginning. It’s always been a problem. It will always be a problem. But they painted themselves into this corner and seem content to let players complain instead of doing the right thing.

            • It will be a pre nerf for arc 3.0. Any money there will be something put into the game that made them broken.

            • So your real complaint is with the skip nerf. Skips are a fine line. Some of us remember when skips terrorized crucible. Full stacks of shinobu’s. And some might say, oh well that’s just shinobu’s. Yes, but Shinobu’s is the skip grenade exotic. Nothing else. If you’re running skips, there’s a good chance you’re running shinobu’s. Maybe it’s a pre-nerf for arc 3.0 or something introduced next season that affects grenades like a seasonal mod. That’s my best guess. I’m not a fan of nerfing something not currently a problem either.
