new story is cool the first time but has little replay value and was pretty incoherent
void changes are cool except in pvp ability spam is back again and realistically not counting the lame smoke "dive" only 2 new things exist
weapon crafting is cool except it sucks and all the weapons in it suck
glaives suck and even if they didnt this is a shooter and it feels a little stupid to shoot a purple ball out of a sword on a stick
new raid will probably be cool
new strikes are strikes if you like that nice i guess but you are still a victim of pve brain rot
no new crucible maps, two old ones are back, shouldnt be celebrated anyway because its the bare minimum thing they could do without pvp people foaming at the mouth
havent played heavy weapon simulator but the drifter is a loser anyway...
this is supposed to rival a story that i thought was better, new supers for every subclass (idk ab arcstrider and sentinel), complete change to loadouts, an entirely (bad) new playlist, the first dungeon, a new enemy type, two new destinations, a good raid, idk maybe 2 new crucible maps i forgot and also other stuff i probably dont remember
seasonal crap doesnt count drip feed is a scam, the playlist armor is reskinned blue junk, ikora is in the story and still boring and annoying
i dont think this dlc is even that much if any bit bigger than beyond light
if you disagree i dont care
if you came to give bungie a handy in the replies i dont care

So the question is hypothetical, and you don’t want to have a conversation about why it may be better than Forsaken. Ok. I’m glad you got to vent.
-
I agree now after playing everything and waiting for reset, I thought something new would be released. Forsaken and taken king are still the best content they’ve made. I understand people are saying it’s the best, that’s because we’re coming off a 6 month season starved for something new
-
20 RepliesIts not really.. When youre starved of compelling content for nearly half a year anything new to consume just makes it feel that way. After the story campaign, youre just right back to where you were before WQ... chasing light levels, in the same ol' content that gatekeeps you from some of the newer content. Its just what the game is.. "love it or leave it " is all you can do. It mostly depends on how fast you want to consume the "new"... to just get to back to the "old ". IMO...All the legendary campaign did was get more players "day one" raid ready and for non-raiders to quickly get back to the same old grind they were doing prior to Feb 22.

8 RepliesEdited by TheArtist: 2/28/2022 8:47:48 PMWhy do people waste time and energy bashing a game that they don't like. Do you REALLY have so little of value to do with your time? I've been playing this game since Day One of D1. The Witch Queen is BY FAR, Bungie's best work. The problem is that people remember Forsaken and Taken King with nostalgia-colored glasses. So they remember all the good things as being better than they actually were....and forget that the bad things were actually bad. Forsaken had a good campaign...and a good raid....but EVERY THING else that came after that was TERRIBLE. But its three years ago, now....and people have conveniently forgotten.

The way story was told was nothing different. Its just the legendary campaign and length made it enjoyable imo.
-
It isn't. The story was ok at best, and the legendary mode made me want to stop playing the game. Plus, all the stupid changes and unnecessary nerfs.

Edited by LikwiD_SmOkE22: 3/2/2022 1:03:01 AMIncoherent?! What?! Poor take. I loved forsaken but this story was leaps and bounds better. The implications are much more dire.
if you disagree i dont care
Then why make a post? Just to be an edgelord?

Thought it was good…. Absolutely turned up the grind to 10…. Will be unplayable next reset

Its perfectly fine to think Forsaken is better even though a lot of that might be the rose tint thing. But one of the ways this one has improved on Forsaken is that there's a lot more things that you can do solo which arguably should have always been able to be done that way.
how is this dlc better than forsaken
I don't know if it is any better or worse until the Raid gets unlocked. The full extent and experience of WQ will not be fully appreciated until at least 4 weeks into the season.
weapon crafting is cool except it sucks
???
seasonal crap doesnt count drip feed is a scam, the playlist armor is reskinned blue junk, ikora is in the story and still boring and annoying
This makes little sense....and WTH is "giving a handy" in reference to?

5 RepliesEdited by DHawk12: 2/28/2022 6:26:22 PMForsaken wins just because that’s when special weapons returned along with improved cooldowns and faster movement, forsaken literally saved the game. Excluding the sandbox changes though, I consider wq to be a step below forsaken due to no pvp maps.

2 RepliesThis was an extremely pointless post.

Edited by michael: 2/28/2022 10:57:10 PMI dont really disagree with you. I think people are overhyping it. People are forgetting how exciting it was to explore the dreaming city, doing all the ascendant challenges and finding the secrets like the warp zone that takes you to the 3 areas. Also was the first ever dungeon, the return of random rolled weapons AND the primary-special-heavy system after a very stale (in PvE) primary-primary-power system with all static rolls in year 1, and an astronomical step up in raid quality from leviatian (levi isnt bad at all, i love it, but we can all agree last wish is way better). My friend and I had an interesting discussion about how forsaken changed so much and made the game have so much more depth that it was basically a whole new game, and if witch queen wanted to live up to that it would have to do the same. I feel like just "more destiny" isnt good enough anymore. I think this DLC is definitely better than the last two but it is true that there is not a whole lot to do after the campaign. The raid needs to be good, weapon crafting needs more weapons, and a dungeon or some sort of exotic mission would be good. Until then im satisfied but not blown away. Best thing so far is void 3.0 but thats not actually part of witch queen, was just part of the same update. Not going to factor it into my judgement when i didnt pay for it

33 RepliesForsaken was revolutionary. New Sandbox, new weapons types, new subclasses, an INSANE raid, 2 new zones, 5-6 new crucible maps AND a completely new playlist. Witch queen has the same sandbox, a new really different weapon type that’s a hit, revamped subclasses, Raid Pending, a new zone that’s 1 rank below dreaming city imo, 2 reissued maps and weapon crafting that feels unfinished, but is welcomed. Forsaken was a 9.5 this dlc is like a 7.5. For reference, shadowkeep was like a 5 and beyond light was a 8.
-
This DLC is definitely bigger than Beyond Light. Can't compare to Forsaken or Taken King yet because more stuff gets dropped after the raid. I personally have loved this DLC and the story is great, finally an actual Campaign for once. Activities I actual enjoy. But thats me. I will say though, they did state that we were only getting 2 maps back this season and 1 new one next season. Yea, it sucks but this was already known before last season that we won't be getting new maps alot until next year.
-
how did the forsaken campaign have replay value? -pvp was probably going to suck -blam!- no matter what they did because it as a whole has sucked for a while now, that's more indicative of bungie not fixing their pvp than it is on void 3.0 -weapon crafting does kind of suck, but the weapons are pretty good for the most part. -glaives are fine, they need to be tweaked a bit but otherwise they are OK, and yes this is a shooter but we also run around with swords all the time so idk why melee combat is such a new concept to you. -let's be honest, you'll find something in the raid you hate as well -they add new stuff and you still whine and complain like a child -you liking or not liking the story is subjective so that's whatever, but you're in the minority there. Also who said anything about new supers? Oh I forgot, you all wrote a bunch of fanfic about poison supers and are mad bungie didn't take your idea and run with it. It's been a week, the raid hasn't even released but you expect a dungeon before that? If you think I'm a bungie shill idc If you hate the game maybe uninstall because we don't care.

Imo it’s not amazing but compared to shadow keep and beyond light it’s a masterpiece
-
Easy It's not VAULTED!

8 RepliesEdited by Aborted Enigma: 2/28/2022 8:59:20 PMAwww kids these days *looks at game history* Yup that explains everything lol

Not just better than forsaken, better than taken king, this dlc is the best one in all of destiny
-
3 RepliesIt’s the first week, all you’ve done is story and quick play. Typical PvP hunter main wants to complain lol. So far there’s a secret quest you can obtain similar to a quest in d1 dreadnought but if you don’t explore you won’t experience anything. Also no telling what’s releasing after the raid, a whole page of triumphs that are hidden under the witch queen triumphs.
