The bright deer eyes, the cute little button nose, the weird out of place eyebrow line thing. Who the -blam!- approved this and thought it was even remotely fitting for the game??? When put next to any other enemies in the game it’s a pretty joke like design.
EDIT: I’ve seen some opinions that have made me reevaluate my stance in the comments. I still think it’s a little out of place for the setting and would have personally preferred a darker aesthetic, but it seems that the oddness of it is what most people like and I can’t argue that it’s weird and different.

Remove the eyes and he looks fine.

Bet the witness gives good head *rimshot*

5 RepliesIt's mega mind, the d2 version

It’s literally just a more science fantasy-ish gray alien. There’s nothing wrong with the Witness’s appearance. I think the whole point is for them to look uncanny and weird.

8 RepliesReminds me of the one guy from star wars, I think his name was Darth Malek something like that idk

It works because it stands out completely compared to every other race in Destiny. It’s meant to make you uncomfortable looking at it because you’re brain can’t understand why or how it looks like that. Also The Witness can take on different forms so I guess this one is their default look.

That's Smokestack.

Honestly, I think the design works. The lighting feels odd though and feels a little cartoonish.

you mean fish-face? Its from some animated story! It looks funny

I liked it because its one of those things where they could have made another really scary monster or a character that looked super angelic but they went in a more unexpected direction. With entertainment stuff you can always play it safe and appeal to a large number of people by going all the way in one direction or the other. So I liked that it was something that was a total surprise in terms of appearance. He or it definitely seems like a badass so they did a good job of making that point.

6 RepliesIt’s the big eyes and the physique that threw off the whole character for me. He doesn’t look very intimidating.

2 RepliesHe needs to look a bit more horrific

1 ReplyI think its a play off the “grey” alien species people say that theyve been abducted by in real life
-
ive always wanted a more hummanish resemblance in a boss other than bug person thing, machine person thing, or other bug person thing

He looks very out of place and he should look this way. Think of the pyramids, they look out of place. This makes sense.

I think that's the Point.....it's Original. Something New.

It's unsettling, but too human for my liking. I like it when alien race designs are harder to compare to or unrecognizable, but their design fits because I can tell from the start that it's supposed to make you unsettled.

Personally I’m into it. The face is fine but the whole Hellraiser design with the organic face-smoke coming out if it’s head is fantastic. I’m weird though so could just be me.

Edited by Ogma: Destroyer of Worlds: 3/1/2022 4:15:52 AMIt’s an unexpected choice and it makes him kind of unsettling, which I think is a good thing. Reminds me of Hellraiser but then the face doesn’t quite match and it’s off-putting, which is good for the storytelling considering the nature of what it is and what’s going on.
