I get that some of the abilities in PvP needed a nerf or some adjustment. But there was nothing wrong with cool down times…
As someone who loves experimenting with Off-META builds and weapons this completely turns me off from firing up Destiny.
I love PvP in Destiny because it’s a good mix of weapons and abilities. Now, weapons will be more dominant… which will result in people complaining about weapons, which results in nerfs to weapons.
This change is excessive and while I will give it a try, I’m very skeptical and not enthused.
Edit: These changes also have a huge effect on quests and bounties… A lot of people hate Exotic quests and story quests that require ability kills. This was not addressed at all…

1 ReplyIt’s not getting worse, just having more variety. An easy one is really fast charging grenades for Heat Rises via Firebolt grenades. The only ones that I’m unsure about are the Flux Grenade 1-shots when combined with a comparatively faster charging arc staff, Shoulder Charge damage being pitiful, and Bleak Watcher being punished for no reason. The rest isn’t bad, just different and leaves a lot of room for build crafting.

3 RepliesYup, been thinking about getting back into it. Nope heavy D2 vanilla vibes, those hailing it seem to have forgotten it was a dumpster fire. I honestly don't care for this make believe balance the game will never have, nerfherders will never be happy.

1 ReplyTime to return to our roots, time to go back to being Space Marines and play some God dang Halo boys. Make Space Magic Great Again!

My mood was on a uprise, but then Bungie felt the need to announce their splice content strategy and all my mood and money went to other platforms and games. My money goes to those who deserve and earn my trust! Bungie aint it at the moment!

38 Repliesreality , one of the best balance twab we get
-
Game will play way better with these changes
-
11 RepliesWell vote with your wallet. If you pre-ordered anything, cancel it. The only way Bungle will care is you stop Paying and Playing.
-
All the changes they listed were very reasonable. Plus, they specifically stated that this lays out groundwork for the 3.0 subclasses. We're not going to be using the finished product here.
-
Yeah, I was really excited about the 30th Anniversary until the TWAB. Now, not so much. Sucked the wind right out of the sails. Bravo Bungie.
-
Yea I like this game for the abilities and stuff. Very depressing.
Now, weapons will be more dominant… which will result in people complaining about weapons, which results in nerfs to weapons.
And what has changed in the last 7 years? Any time PvP players complain enough about anything, Bungie will listen to an extent but you guys don't think about the consequence because it doesn't just stop at one thing you guys request to nerf. Bungie takes that opportunity and gets all happy about nerfing things in this game and you end up with posts like this. So in all, you guys should pat yourselves on the back for ignoring what company you are dealing with especially what sandbox you are dealing with.

2 RepliesDon't worry shoulder charge will get 8 more nerfs and end up with a titan taking out a pillow to hit them. Then the opponent will get a damage buff from it. Hunter mains still complain it's still too op
-
13 RepliesHunter dodge getting nerfed again is dumb. Even with max mobility I still have to wait nearly 20 seconds to use a dodge...
-
7 RepliesI like the change. I rarely use these crutches, I main a warlock with nova bomb. I use surplus for the extra handling, stability and reload of my weapons. I would get beat by players using cheese abilities but would beat them in gun fights. I think these players had better adapt because it is going be rough. I don’t stand in rifts and fight and I don’t use meta weapons. The problem now will be hand cannon and shotguns (always is) they are still the best.
-
Yea it’s like “Luke smith returns!” “Double primary is FUN”
Edit: These changes also have a huge effect on quests and bounties… A lot of people hate Exotic quests and story quests that require ability kills. This was not addressed at all…
Not in the TWAB but actually they were. Around WQ Bungie will alter/remove ability kill bounties.

I think people need to play in the sandbox before they come to conclusions. We have heard about nerfs and buffs before and it is never as bad or as good as we thought. Just wait and see what happens.
-
They said they want to move away from ability spam and have more gunplay. I'm predicting cool downs will likely get nerfed a little more in the future and when that's dialed in they will likely all get a buff in lethality. Which I would prefer stronger abilities that happen occasionally instead of weaker abilities that happen constantly.
-
Sandbox was pretty balanced with the exception of a couple of outliers. The problems with heavy handed nerfs is that they beget more nerfs and launch the game into a vicious nerf cycle.
-
9 RepliesUhh there was a HUGE problem with cooldown times. This is the best twab to date. Your view is very rare my dude.
-
There's a lot of ways to keep abilities up, especially using stasis. They are bringing that system to all the classes next year. We don't have to wait out our timers.
-
The timers are the best thing they are adding to the game. No more will a single grenade for each class be the obvious choice. Now you decide if you want a less lethal grenade with more spam or a one shot grenade with a long cooldown.
-
You do realize that this is setting the ground for subclass 3.0
-
3 RepliesWeapons more predominant? You mean... people need to aim? Aiming isn’t hard, of course. Everything in this game is on training wheels. But there’s always gonna be someone who can’t hit shots to save their life, dies, and rage posts on the forums. I can’t wait to feel all the salt.
-
8 RepliesI don't understand. Dude, you said you love experimenting with off meta builds. And it's goin to be the golden time for that. No one knows what will be good, with all the "mixtures" that will come from weapons and gears.
-
exactly, bungie is shooting themselves in the foot
