Make Jötun a heavy ammo gun, as somebody who has not acquired Jötun, it's insane that in such an open map as this weeks trials map, one person is almost guaranteed to get 2 kills because Jötun tracks. This is too powerful to be a special ammo gun. To balance it make it a heavy ammo gun. Please

Once you get it you will understand the track isn't that strong ...move slightly in any direction(except in front) and the shot will miss
-
26 RepliesIt’s really not that strong Just move
-
Careful the Jotunn robots will get mad
-
1 ReplyListen to the charge sound and move. Bad players use Jotun, and bad players get killed by it.
-
If you can dodge a wrench, you can dodge jotuun!
-
Let's make one of the worst guns in the game literally unusable. Hmmmmmm
-
Lol no

Cover is your best friend and easily hard counters jotunn. Jotunn has a solid kill rate ONLY against players constantly caught out in the open, those with poor situational awareness/map positioning or against those who are predictable like campers and rushers. Peek shooting hard counters Jotunn, as does strafing, Barricade, dodge and blink. If its killing you often try a higher mobility build and change of playstyle you will be surprised on how easy it can actually be avoided. There is a reason why its not a popular choice amongst players of the higher skill tiers.

39 RepliesReal talk? Its only effective vs bad or unaware players.
-
Absolutely! "Just dodge it" doesn't work if they're camping a lane or doorway. Listen for the noise? Like I'm not making noises too. You guys make a lot of excuses for the easy button jotun. Colony does the same on the ground, granted better tracking, but it's heavy. Make Jotun heavy.

Edited by Sweet Lew 88: 11/2/2021 9:01:51 PMIt's been around for a long time. If it was that strong, everyone would be using it and Bungie would have nerfed it. Clearly that's not the case. Just move one way or the other if you hear someone charging it up. It's not that hard to dodge. PvP is all about adapting.

2 RepliesSorry mate, anyone rocking Jotuun in trials and getting two kills in an entire match is playing against no thumb idiots. 😂😂😂🤦🏿♂️
-
8 RepliesIt's fine. It's tracking is horrible. You have thumbs use them. Move left or right.
-
2 RepliesWould be worse than when they made the queen breakers bow a heavy
-
If you have not acquired it from the exotic kiosk by the bank, that’s a you thing. It’s not that hard to get the materials to get it. Also it is hardly a guarantee to get two kills. If you’re caught off guard, standing still, or running in a straight line toward your opponent; yeah it can get you. But if you’re strafing even a little bit it will miss badly.
-
It is not that bad. Just move to the left or right. If they moved it to the heavy slot it would require a hefty buff.
-
I believe this was suggested the very season Jotuun came into existence.
-
4 RepliesI don’t even have jotunn. It’s not as good as you make it out to be. It’s pretty easy to avoid. It can be annoying, but every time I die to jotunn it’s because I was unaware or not paying attention.
-
You are just gonna get hate for this post cause people use it but say it sucks
-
Perhaps you could attempt to either walk, sprint, or slide to the right or left of the jotuun projectile to dodge it, as its tracking is nowhere near good as you say
-
Its a Bad idea and not needed honestly jotunn wouldn't be used as a heavy at all that would kill the gun in pvp and pve honestly the tracking isnt that great its avoidable in open space if u have the agility for it plus the charge isnt super fast and there are plenty of 1 hit kills weapons that are specials that are more reliable then jotunn in pvp so overall i dont see the point personally u just gotta learn to work around it
-
2 Replies
as somebody who has not acquired Jötun
Well there’s your problem. Use it and you’ll realize that it’s worse than most fusions because it’s a relatively slow moving projectile. Its consistent range is no further than other fusions.
-
2 RepliesThen why isn't it doing better than Main Ingredient, I'll answer for you. It isn't reliable in a competitive setting, let alone much of anything else. It's tracking is garbage and it's in the worst archetype now, anyone with thumbs can easily dodge it.
-
2 RepliesIf it was as strong as you make it out to be, it would be a meta weapon for sure. But it is not. I haven't seen a jotun in a while in pvp (granted I id not play this game a lot this season, and even less pvp.) All this sounds like a you problem, and I hope you can overcome it.
-
agreed I thought about the same idea before give it a damage buff and move it to the heavy slot.
-
Yeah it tracks but there's so much cover on the map that it's moot. Unless you always in the air or not around cover you really shouldn't be getting hit.
