Good grief this is the one of the dumbest ideas in d2. The time limit is another dumb idea.

3 RepliesDefinitely to no time limit and would love to get bounties in orbit, not from a vendor. I no longer do bounties as I’m sick of travelling back and to acquire them. Would also be nice if they included some exotic quests tied to cashing in bounties like in d1.

2 RepliesIs glimmer really a problem for people?
-
Agree
-
9 RepliesOne or the other. Either free or no time limit. The +3 hours they put on was laughable.
-
I’m not sure why there needs to be a time limit. People hoard completed ones anyway.
-
I agree with bounties not having a time limit like in D1 but I really don't see an issue with using glimmer to buy them when there are plenty of ways to build up glimmer anyway.
-
3 RepliesHow about bounties don't reward XP period and just go back to being there for extra resources.

1 ReplyEdited by meatballsublime: 5/27/2021 5:22:26 PMThis was one of the "our choices need to matter" concepts that were introduced. FOMO (i.e. time limits on most things) was one of the key vehicles to do so. The problem is wasting currency on a bounty I ultimately don't complete and expires shouldn't be the focus of the game. - This is a looter shooter. As a player, I should be focused on looting gear and shooting things. - This isn't a monopoly and budget simulator were I need to focus heavily on resource management, especially on acquiring tasks that expire, because "expiration date" is the only choice. - You can't just artificially make things consequential. Make it legitimately meaningful and people will do it automatically. No expiration gimmicks and no get-them-to-spend-their-currency gimmicks required. For example, let us buy gear vs bounties or make bounties reward gear, like in d1. We like rewards and will automatically grind for currency for rewards. No one gets out of bed and says "let me grind currency, so I can grind bounties, so I can achieve rank 750 on the season pass." Season rank past 100 doesn't matter. Where's the reward? This current method for bounties is just lazier, simpler, a shortcut, and requires less creative problem solving. Bungie has to wake up to the fact that the player knows when things are empty. We don't want to waste our time on empty, hampster-wheel pursuits.

10 RepliesYea i dont really get why they added time to them....why not keep it like d1?
-
Agreed about the glimmer. Time limits should be til reset, not 24 hours.
-
3 RepliesThe real issue here is that bounties are being used by bungie to help hide their rigid control, over our loadouts season to season. Just this week there have been ones tell you to use pulse rifles as override bounties and a weekly task to use them in override or expunge... When they have no bearing within the artefact mods this season.
-
4 RepliesYou’re really complaining that bounties cost glimmer? Something that is the easiest thing to come across and the easiest to farm?
-
1 ReplyEdited by Amazinite: 5/29/2021 7:33:17 AMMfers be like “Remove glimmer cost for bounties. Remove glimmer cost for mods. Remove glimmer cost for upgrade modules.” Mfer just say you want them to remove glimmer from the game already
-
Edited by Phantom: 5/28/2021 5:58:42 PMI hate the time limit, it makes it feel even more like a job than bountys already are, because now I have a deadline to complete my work.
-
27 RepliesAt the very least it should be one OR the other, either Glimmer with NO expiration or Free to pick up with an expiration Charging me money for something and then taking it away in a short time is just STUPID! I can log into D1 right now and still have bounties in progress from 3 years ago. They could always make the expiration at the end of the season if they HAVE to have one.
Good grief this is the one of the dumbest ideas in d2. The time limit is another dumb idea.
I can't upvote this enough. Just over a year ago I loaded up D1. Crazy amount of fun that was - patrolling, strikes, PvP, etc... but my bounties from Sept 2017 were still there from Age of Triumph. Still had that "Ice Breaker" bounty "even though I already had Ice Breaker in my inventory/collections. Still had the Shaxx bounty for powerful loot (even though gaurdian was already 400]... It was still 60% completed. Timers didn't expire
-
4 RepliesIf you have issues with bounties costing glimmer, that means you have difficulty getting glimmer, which begs the question "How?". Glimmer is by far the easiest currency to get, as it drops friggin everywhere. And if you don't have problems getting glimmer, and you're whining about bounties costing glimmer, then your complaint is confusing to me. As for the time limit...meh? Don't pick up the bounty if you're not going to do it.
-
4 RepliesYour complaining about something thats been present since 2014.......deal with it my dude
-
It’s freaking glimmer
-
2 RepliesI agree. There should be 5 free bounties per week, then Silver should be needed to buy any more.
It should be obvious by the ridiculous nature of the statement that I'm not being serious. However, seeing as this is the bungie.net forum I probably need this little spoiler.
-
You get 24 hours and they are almost always so sinple they can be done in a few minutes. So not sure what the issue is here.
-
I'm constantly capped at 250k glimmer so have no issue with blowing it on bounties, even ones I never get to complete
-
3 RepliesIf they’re going to charge glimmer AND keep a timer on the bounty, then tie the timer to the reward with diminishing returns for longer completion times. If you complete it within 24 hours, 100% reward and 100% glimmer refunded, maybe even add a rare chance for a Prime Engram. If you complete it within 7 days, 75% of your reward and 75% glimmer refunded, rare chance for a Legendary. Any longer and you get half the XP and Glimmer, no engram.
-
Edited by CookieNiki: 5/27/2021 11:01:13 PMDon't agree about the glimmer part, but the time limit adds absolutely zero value to the game. It's just a way of putting pressure on players to return to the game. And we surely shouldn't have to pay glimmer (or pay anything at all) for using what we already own, like changing a mod, using a shader, pulling gear from collections, etc.
-
No doubt, they should just print a bunch of glimmer and pass it out to everyone and everything so it doesn’t even matter anymore
-
Idk why these changes are needed tbh, I don’t know why I’m commenting, I don’t know anything really. But I am upvoting and gonna leave this comment. The changes just sound good, I have no clue why...
