So they took away 50% of the game I paid for. They said we’re getting new content that’ll fill that void, so far we’ve gotten a planet with a story that lasts 4 hours. A raid that can be done with new light players in under an hour. Hunts(which I mean honestly who cares) and battlegrounds which will probably become irrelevant next season.
Now I’m not gonna say “bungie give me back my money” but rather why didn’t they offer bright dust or silver for the old season pass and dlc owners who’s purchases now can’t even be played. Honestly seems like a missed opportunity to build good faith with the community and show they weren’t going to be Activision 2.0
But looking at the transmog system I’m sure they will be bungievision soon...
Edit: you guys have some misconception that I care to get money back, I was simply ask why didn’t bungie make a good faith move to try and give the community a win

6 RepliesNo law suits have been filed in the proper regions yet. That's why.
-
2 RepliesI understand your frustration but technically we only have a license to play their game.
-
1 ReplyBecause the content they removed was literally years old and you don't actually own anything; when you purchase something digital, you're more likely purchasing a licensing agreement or whatever it's called. I'm sure if we read the fine print, it'll say something like that.

2 RepliesOP:
Now I’m not gonna say “bungie give me back my money"
Also OP:
Why didn’t bungie reimburse the community?
Do you understand the meaning of reimburse? I also don't think you understand that paying for an online video game is a bit more like paying for a service. Let me give you an example: Let's look at Season of Dawn with the Sundial. The activity was active for the Season, but went away after the season, should we be reimbursed once the season is over? I would argue that the money we paid was to enjoy the content over the course of the 3 month season. It's kind of like going to the movies, you pay $10 to go watch a movie to have an enjoyable experience. After 2 hours, you have nothing physical remaining from your purchase, you have memories from the experience. If the movie was good, you enjoy the experience; if the movie was bad (maybe a cringe-Worthy movie), it was less enjoyable. Some people will wait to watch a movie until they get reviews from others first. During your time at the movies, some people will decide to buy Popcorn or Spicy Ramen to enhance their experience, it doesn't change the content of the movie, but is is an option for people if they want to indulge themselves. When you think about it, no one really needs to go to the movies, we do it because we enjoy the opportunity to experience something new with our friends.

7 RepliesDigital content baby, you don’t “own” anything. But don’t forget “you will own nothing and be happy” Regards World economic forum.

8 RepliesReimburse yourself, you been playing for a while now. You are the guy that buys shoes, wears them everyday for 2 years and when they finally break he takes them back to the store asking for a refund

3 RepliesWell back when forsaken came out and the Refer a friend system came out and we got the “Veteran player rewards” i knew thats all we were getting If bungie wouldn’t do it once they made the game free, they will never do it

9 RepliesYeah, Bungie doesn’t care about “good faith” actions or garnering “goodwill” with their customers. At least not anymore. They hide behind legal “agreements” that are required before you can even access their product. An “agreement” that is “subject to change” oftentimes at any possible time. Such a thing is no true “agreement” as it beggars the mind to imagine agreeing to something that could change so much it is unrecognizable from the initial “agreement.” Let’s use a silly example. Ted decides he wants to use his neighbor Tom’s garden rake. Before Ted is allowed to use the rake, Tom requires Ted to sign a user “agreement.” This “agreement” is “subject to change” at anytime. Ted signs it because he really wants to use the rake. Tom allows Ted to use it. One day, while Ted is raking his lawn, Tom shoes up and removes the rake handle, stating that the handle was old and thus required maintenance. Ted tries to protest that a rake with an old handle is better than a rake with none, but is squarely shut down as Tom brandishes his “user agreement.” Ted is upset but is put at ease when Tom states a new handle is on its way. The following week, (Ted has been raking his lawn on all fours as he has no handle) Tom shows up with a new handle. The handle is a foot long. Ted is upset because Tom promised him a new handle for the rake. Tom insists the handle is new (it is, but not comparable to the old in any other way), and waves the “user agreement” in Ted’s face. The following week Tom shows up at Ted’s house and reclaims the rake as well as Ted’s car. Ted is upset, (rightfully so) but again is shown the “user agreement” that is “subject to change” at any time. In case you were wondering, you are Ted and Bungie is Tom. The legal world is such a fun place full of “agreements” that would ordinarily never be agreed to if it weren’t for some proposed benefit. The problem is, Bungie, along with others, use an “agreement” that is legally capable of becoming an entirely different “agreement” at any time. Nifty huh? They will never reimburse us, or hand us good faith credit. They essentially robbed us, legally. The content we paid for is gone, replaced with very little. My vote is to never financially support Bungie again. Just like my grandpappy used to say “boy, they are crookeder than a dog’s hind leg!”

Bungie doesn't care how much we've spent on this game. They only care about how much we're willing to spend.
-
I hate that they removed all that stuff, but I don’t expect anything. I got my money’s worth easily out of all the expansions/Seasons I’ve bought.
-
Because money

Fun fact you don't own anything . They could delete everything an walk away . You signed/ clicked enough legal things . They own the game you have the ability to play it. We aren't owed anything that's the issue with Games as a Service, take any dead MMO as an example doesn't matter that I spend 10000000000 hero coins in City of Heroes , the game is dead, the servers are dead .

4 RepliesThe short answer here is that we already got what we paid for. Long answer? Games have a life cycle, especially online games. At some point those games are replaced by new games, and the content that was relevant in the old, fades away. Bungie decided to not make Destiny 3 as a stand alone. Which would have ended the relevance of D2 completely. Even if you could still go back an play. Ultimately we didn't "lose" anything. The concentrated the focus of the live game, and have the ability to shift that focus. I think the problem with last fall was that they had to cut more than they could add. And they didn't create enough destination content to make what was added seem relevant. IMO, this is because they focus too much on the instanced content, and not enough on the "world". The game needs to present reasons and rewards for us to go to the Moon, or Nessus, or the Cosmodrome. Not just checking off bounties. the game needs synergy between the destinations and the player.

At Bungie it’s “pay us!” Not “we pay you!” Get it straight!

5 RepliesI feel bad for y1 vets. Ya'll were the few people who cared about D2Y1 and ya'll got nothing but obsolete gear now.

I'm not going to argue any of the points here What I do want to argue is that DSC is somehow not valid as new content because its "A raid that can be done with new light players in under an hour". Its a well made raid with interesting mechanics. is it easy? yes, no doubt. The difficulty of the raid or time it takes doesn't take away the fact that I have not been bored while playing it. Vault of glass was a stupidly easy raid once you got a group that knew what they where doing. after 3-4 weeks VoG was on farm by my group, despite this I think everyone here can agree that it was a fun raid. DSC is the same, its not the hardest but it is fun

Because that isn’t what scumbags do.

1 ReplyToS says what it says, but it ultimately doesn't detract from the fact they didn't make any sort of gesture, even if not owed. It just looks bad.

It is you thinking that you are in the « community « Your are a paid customer each time you paid a dlc to bungie, after that you become a grinder that need to play 24/24 365 days year.

3 RepliesI'm always astounded with the mentality of some people. You have about a 1000 hours in D2 Is that not value ? I cant understand why you are not happy with what you received for your investment. Boggles my mind. why would it even cross your mind to consider a refund. A 1000 hours dude.

8 RepliesEdited by IAGNRG: 4/27/2021 5:55:56 PMOne argument I won’t agree with. The ToS is fairly clear on what they can do, so don’t complain about it and expect to be remedied.
-
Now I’m not gonna say “bungie give me back my money” but rather why didn’t they offer bright dust or silver for the old season pass and dlc owners who’s purchases now can’t even be played.
Because the TOS that we agreed to says bungie can remove and edit content at any time.. Unfortunately bungie isn't obligated to do anything. If we don't like it, we can leave. At the end of the day, vote with your wallet.

1 ReplyA typical single player game can have about lets say 50 hrs campaign/story at £60 that's £1.20 phr Now destiny 2 I've spent about £100 on and I've played that for about 100 days that works out to £0.04phr at present that's me personally though its not always been fun but I've been using their product so value wise nothing else has come close
