Teammates leaving in comp crucible

Can we get some kind of safety in place for not losing glory when teammates leave us a man down? Happens way to often when not playing with 3 people

  • It could only be applicable in freelance and not in normal 3v3 due to exploiting. Scenario below You have person a, person b and person c. Person a and b need to hit legend person c does not. Person c also has x number of accounts. All 3 go into comp play some games, win some games and then they have a hard game where they are getting obliterated. Person C leaves and gets a 1 hour ban but person A and B don’t lose any glory. Person C now switches account to an unbanned account and they keep playing, no glory lost. Rinse and repeat. Person C doesn’t care and person A and B are never penalised. In freelance this cannot be coordinated and as such if they leave it was most likely unplanned between the entire team With the kiosk you also do not have to have bad weapons as you can go buy yourself a felwinters lie and some decent kinetic weapons with little effort

      i had to leave a match today, there were two blueberry accounts aimbot sniping to carry a third person. i wasnt gonna let them ruin my kd any more than they already had, not like my team had a chance anyway. you can see them in my game history. add a report if ya can

      • Agreed. I've joined matches a man down and we'd get utterly steamrolled- what you get for the trouble of actually sticking around doesn't outweigh the benefit of just leaving and doing something more enjoyable.

      • I'm more annoyed playing with blueberries because all they do is waste your lives. They always go on the opposite side of the map thinking that their kruzer and can 1v3...SMH

      • Need to ensure that people can’t cheese it. For example run comp with a team, if you are about to lose one guy quits so the fireteam doesn’t lose glory rank

        • No too easy to exploit. People leave very often when their team is losing meaning there'd be a lot of games that you would have lost even if they had stayed that you wouldn't lose in any points for.

              • Honestly, survival is one of the few gamemodes where being down a player doesn't always hurt. Some of the few times I've solo queued, I've had matches where I drop ~30 kills, have a 4.something KD, and still lose because my teammates soak up lives like a sponge.

              • I hate when that happens, I hate it even more when my teammates don't leave but I die once the entire match and get knocked. I wish [i]those[/i] kind of teammates would leave.

                • This has always been an issue and the only remedy for it is to remove point loss altogether since you only gain points by winning anyways it makes more sense.

                • In freelance this happened to me a few times. In some games they left it wasn't looking like a win so I understand. But it really was annoying when it was even.

                • There should be a balancing mechanic to encourage people who don’t have full teams to stay. I’d love to see the real numbers on how many PvP games are full team VS full team. Most games I play on are uneven teams at some point. Sometimes uneven games don’t even fill up. Bungie just condemns those who stay to getting farmed. There’s a reason Bungie doesn’t implement the loss-canceling feature unless it’s terribly skewed teams... because it happens SO OFTEN.

                • So I see a lot of comments that people should get punished for leaving. Just a question here. Would you rather a person left, leaving you a man down. Or that person stays to avoid the penalty, but just suicides or runs to the other team feeding them kills? Because, if you force a player to stay in a match they don't want to be in, that is exactly what will start happening. Neither is right, but one or the other will happen.

                    • I personally found from my own matches I have a literal 70% chance to be down a team mate practically at start of game because people leave before we load in. Casual is one thing, I get leaving in casual when you know, it’s casual and you get 6 flawlesss stacking steady hand felwinters and you just wanna enjoy the game, but comp needs some treatment, it at the very least needs more of the recluse treatment it got when they made it so you couldn’t fall back ranks through fabled, that needs to be all ranks, losing glory fine, but not a rank. Especially since there isn’t much incentive to even go in there.

                      • True it's much harder to win when you're a member down, but if the enemy team isn't very coordinated, it is very much possible to come back since it's not like elim. You have less people to burn lives and if you two stick together you have a much better chance. This really only applies though if you're skilled enough and/or your second teammate doesn't leave you and make it 1v3

                        • Agree - if you finish the game without a full fireteam, then you can ONLY gain rank. Because if you won against worse odds, you should be rewarded, but if you lose an unfair match you should not be penalized... This has been true for the entire run of Destiny 2 and they still haven't fixed it. Don't hold your breath.
