I met a new player and decided to help him out. This is some 3rd grader. We did the new light missions then I took him I to private matches because we were going to go into control for the new light quest from shaxx. I tried to see what I can do to improve his aim, teach him about awareness, what job each type of weapon has and how they are used, ect.
We then decided to go into control after 2 private matches. Out of all 3 matches, he got aggressively tbagged each one. And on the 3rd on, he got a message along the lines of "you cant even play the game. That's why in bagging. Just uninstall". What. The. F***. I don't have words to describe how pissed I was.
What the f*** is wrong with this community🤦♂️
This all around is just completely messed up. I feel bad for the kid. He was actually having fun with the game. I'm disappointed in this community. We have stooped so low to a point I didnt think we could get to. This is not how new players should be treated. In fact, this ain't how people in general should be treated. How is this acceptable?
Edit: Forgot to mention this because I just went to bed after writing this but I had already informed him about crucible not really being fun and it being toxic. When he did get bagged, he told me he was going to bag them back and I said not to. I told him to not stoop to their level. He then told me to go 1v1 them and I said no because I'm not going to that far and waste my time on some bozo with an ego. I never really do 1v1s in the first place because I find it a waste of time unless its with my buddy's for funsies and we do stupid stuff or I'm trying to help a new player like that kid.
I already had him block the one who messaged him and told him to ignore people like that because they may feel good about themselves. But in reality, they are making themselves look extreamly stupid and that they have the mental capacity of a zucchini. The kid didnt seem bothered much and was ignoring it which is good, but I can't stand by and let that s*** slide. Especially if I'm the one helping him. Because it's still messed up no matter how you look at it.
Edit 2: Some of you are missing the point. Yes, the kid is a 3rd grader. No, I'm not his parent. I didnt give him the ok to play a game at the age he isnt supposed to. And if I had a kid, I most likely wouldn't let them play the game at his age either in the first place, or at least without my supervision. But its 2020 and heading into 2021, people are -blam!-. I'm not angry at the fact that he is a kid experiencing this. I'm angry that new players in general are being treated in a similar manner. I've seen a good chunk of new players on the forums and in the game getting treated like garbage. That's why I'm writing about this.

Idk man, the more people stay away from Destiny the better. Hit the company right in their unabated greed and maybe they'll start making Destiny the game we all hope it could be

I mean have you ever played any game with PvP elements?

Why is a 3rd grader playing Destiny?

Edited by Last Spartan: 12/31/2020 7:58:40 PMNever, ever judge an entire group of people based off the actions of a handful. Especially only a handful that you personally see. Many different types of people play this game. You trying to lump everyone together like you're doing actually annoys me a little.

Checks profile. You’re on Xbox. It’s just how Xbox players are

It is the atmosphere FOMO creates. Think about it. Why would you MISS OUT on grinding for YOURSELF to help a complete stranger. FOMO creates this atmosphere.

New lights are the second class citizens of destiny New lights don't have rights
-
all those t-baggers are the d2 fanbois that defended sunsetting armor, that can’t understand why many players are upset and not playing right now, and the people post on lfg “kwtd” the first day content comes out.
-
I absolutely love this game, and hope new players don’t get turned away by stuff like this. Definitely need to reach out more when I see a new light player and offer a hand especially at these points in a season/content period where all I’m doing is waiting for the next season to drop
-
From time to time i go to the cosmodrome and see if anyone need help with their new light quest I think that this gives them at least an okay impression about the game and it’s player base

Edited by BluAngeLit: 12/31/2020 10:52:53 PMIf Bungie wanted to really "fix" or effect the amount of toxicity they ALLOW in their game, they could come up with incentives to do so............ Why not have a system where I can "report" a player for being helpful, like you were? If a person gets enough points, maybe they should get an exotic, THAT WORKS IN BOTH PVP AND PVE, for their contribution to the community? Why not have community awards given out monthly, by video evidence. much like the "artist awards" you get from Bungie? Maybe you can get an award of a special emblem for the submitted video. There are a LOT of ways that Bungie can start to CHANGE THE ENVIRONMENT and toxicity of the Destiny community, they just need to start rewarding POSITIVE interactions, like what you did for this new Destiny member. Thank you for what you did, I just wish there was a way I could get you something more for what you did than just a thank you! Bungie, ball is in your court (no pun intended), what are you going to do about this?
-
Good for you helping the player. The hell with the negativity.
-
We are not all that way. Sadly, good sportsmanship Is a thing of the past. You rarely see it nowadays. It should be incentivized in gaming. People who Tbag, are insecure, and most likely in real life are too cowardly to stand up for themself or have the balls to. Just ignore it and move on.

Me personally as a hardcore player i feel bad for new light players
-
Toxicity is rampant in this community.

1 ReplyHonest question who literally teabags a bad opponent? I can see getting mad at a bad teammate, though not in control (but won’t deny being tilted in comp.) If I face a bad opponent I either farm and create funny moments with their lack of game sense or more than likely focus on better teammates because farming bots (or afks in rumble) is boring. I reserved the bag for people abusing cheese loadouts or issued the first bag. Unfortunately the former is every player with Stasis now so...

1 ReplySad thing is, this doesn’t happen to only new players. That’s why a lot of people play solo. People suck and will always suck.
-
Being anonymous creates the perfect environment for people to do stupid stuff. Wimpy folks.
-
Because there’s a bunch of third graders playing?
-
LMFAO at the irony
-
I only teabag assholes who teabag my blueberry teammates and my friends
-
Man, laugh and be rude too. I find it funny when I see behavior like that.

Edited by Olórin: 1/1/2021 3:16:03 AMTeabagging used to be fun in a competitive sense (Halo 2/3 and similar games) but the way some people teabag out of pure toxicity and sheer pettiness with such a serious mindset only makes me think they are the ones tilted without any reason to be so. Sad how some of these players aren't even children or teenagers but are actually fully grown adults acting like this. Edit: Literally a few hours ago i had a couole games with a three stack of flawless guys on the enemy team sweat it out. They would teabag even though i had the best score on my team lol didn't once teabag since i dont see casual games as a reason to shit on someones experience in the crucible, some people are salty towards players just because they're hard to kill.
