I still don’t understand these weapon frames, the mods, or what I’m supposed to do. Ima returning dad who has extra time and the grind just isn’t as simple as it used to be. I don’t know if I’m spending the right amount of time on these things. I’m assuming 1030 is highest light level?
And is this breakneck from gambit worth grinding for?
Also, it’s fcking impossible to get into a raid if you’re a returning player. So much content for me to play and enjoy after the return, but no way to complete it

Do not use it in crucible if you get it. It’s a PvE gun.
-
Was ages ago then it got nerfed into the ground by mistake and bungie left it to rot.
-
Still fun for PvE. Not so great for PvP though.

Edited by zombdestroyer: 5/6/2020 1:33:54 AMBreakneck isn’t worth it without the Actium War Rig exotic chest

Edited by Jamestown01010: 5/4/2020 8:55:04 PMLoved it when I first got it. It has been in the vault untouched since Bungie “balanced” it into mediocrity like they do with every weapon. I am almost finished with some other pinnacle weapon quests, but couldn’t care less if I finish them because I’ve been burned too many times with Bungie ruining anything special in Destiny. In general, the quality of Destiny rewards does not correlate to the effort required to obtain them. You will spend hours grinding and will say, “I did all that for this?”

It's meh. 450 ARs aren't really that good.
-
It used to be boss but now, only in crucible. I’ve found Steelfeather Repeater to be a great substitute.

Edited by The Hermit IX: 5/6/2020 12:30:35 AMIt was when it was released but now not so much after the nerf. You’re better off with a god rolled 600 or 720 honestly. My steel feather repeater with feeding frenzy and multi killclip or my Galliard with outlaw abd killclip are better. There are others like arc logic etc I have them all and my breakneck is vaulted. I think it’s because it’s starting point is a 450 before it ramps up.

It's pretty good for pve, but I'm hearing 600 rpm auto rifles are better in pvp. Whether or not it's worth it depends on how much you like gambit, but you should pick up the other gambit pinnacle quests too if you decide to go for breakneck.
-
It's one of the best primary guns in the game for pve activities. It's meh in pvp. It has a lot of kick and bounce to it so not the best it pvp.
-
Just use suros regime.
-
I used breakneck in crucible ok Even against hard light.

1 ReplyDo you play on xbox by chance?? Me an a couple friends run sherpas through all the raids.

Breakneck got nerfed like most good guns. Bungie loves mediocrity. The only gun where Rampage decreases damage. So dumb. So Bungie.
-
If you want to do grind 21% delirium and yes worth to grind same time
-
i still use it, it was a grind but it works for me, good distance gun.
-
Meh, used to be very good but now it’s just free shards 🤷♂️

I love Breakneck. The only issue I have with it is that they changed the gun from how it was when it first came out. So the gun has a perk combo of Onslaught and Rampage. As Rampage stacks increase with kills, Onslaught increases the fire rate of the gun. Base RoF: 450rpm Rampage x1: 600rpm Rampage x2: 600rpm Rampage x3: 720rpm When the gun first released, Breakneck actually felt like an auto rifle worth using even though auto rifles in general were pretty weak. When Shadowkeep released, Bungie changed how Onslaught works by making Breakneck actually do less damage per bullet as the RoF increases, essentially cancelling out any benefit you get from Rampage. I would still get it in case Bungie decides to revert the change to Onslaught in the future as unlikely as that is. Plus, you could end up falling in love with the feel of the gun, so it's still worth going after it.

Not worth it. There is technically no highest light level, but blue / non-powerful drops will get you to 950. Then you'll need powerful drops up to 1000, and then pinnacle drops up to 1010. This is all base gear power, your artifact bonus will be added on top of that. And yeah, community is pretty toxic when it comes to raids.

Breakneck sits in my Vault. :P I never liked it, even before it got toned down, at least in PvP. I think it needs more rounds in the magazine for PvE/Gambit, since it's outclassed by Sweet Business.
-
In PvE, breakneck feels like it’s in a good place right now (especially for titans) since I’m running actium war rig anyway on GoS final boss to reload my Xenophage, I use Breakneck with it, and when the onslaught ramps up its fun. Is it perfect? Probably not, I’d use other autos in pvp, but it’s a fun auto in PvE for me right now.

You'll be done with the kills about halfway through the quest. It's a decent weapon, but there are better like Steelfeather, definitely Summoner.

2 RepliesNot any more sadly. Its nerf was 100% unnecessary, and thats from someone who barely used it before that. 21% Delirium on the other hand is a shining example of a well made pinnacle weapon. Excels at its intended role, doesnt break the game and allows for some clever loadouts. That thing is the benchmark for future pinnacle/ritual weapons IMO

If you don’t mind gambit yes, otherwise no. It used to be amazing but not so much now
-
No. It’s really not. They kill everything good in this game such that nothing good exists. Only slightly above average at best. Nothing shines. Nothing is special. Nothing is worth it.
-
Not worth your time, actually go ahead and put the game down. No real reason to play it anyway
