Can we have a freelance mode in Gambit Prime? Teams are really tough to compete against when playing solo.

1 ReplyThis is a bad idea for a few reasons: 1. Gambit Prime is old content for the mostpart, splitting the playerbase between multiple Gambit Prime modes would be bad for setting up matches. 2. Gambit Prime is based around team composition with specific roles for each player. Having a freelance version would result in bad team layout. I know that is still a problem with solo queuing currently, but it would be amplified with Freelance. If you were to have a Freelance option, regular gambit would be a better option, however, I still think it would be a bad idea to split the playerbase. Lastly, most teams playing Gambit Prime are awful. I can easily carry a team as a Reaper constantly massacring adds and generating near-infinite special ammo for my team. If you go in as a Reaper or Invader, you can probably carry your team to victory most of the time.

Edited by NerfPaladins06: 10/25/2019 12:58:49 PMI'm just sick of perfect invasion that -blam!-s up the entire match for the recieving end. 1 -blam!-ing invasion = GG? It shouldn't be a thing. Terrible game design. Also when you try to delay the dps'ing the boss and fool the invader but they still somehow know you're delaying. Waiting waiting waiting waiting, omg screw it > then they invade the exact moment the last wizard falls BEFORE you did any damage. It's like they have a hidden camera watching you. Wtf is that shit?
-
Not if you have a single good invader on your team of solos.

Not free I want costlance

No body likes prime or gambit in general

Mahahahaha wut? I have now seen it all..

1 ReplyEdited by Xero: 10/24/2019 1:30:20 PMRegular? I think that can work. It's your starting point to know about Gambit. How it plays, knowing what works and doesn't, etc. A group of randoms, even against a team, can still win. So a freelance mode makes sense here, to allow players to feel like they can go at their own pace. Prime? I don't think that will work. The design of that game mode really leans more towards teamwork than anything else. Plus, it's more known to be the "real" Gambit. So it makes sense that teams go into it, as roles are clearly more defined in that mode. There's a focus needed here that isn't detrimental to the other. Freelance mode wouldn't make sense here.

I think that it doesn't really work with Gambit prime as it is more team oriented but this could work in regular Gambit

Freelance everything. Make the stacks just go away.

5 RepliesNoone cares about Gambit, why waisted time energy and effort. What happens when you lose??? Yeah, nothing
-
Only if they add matchmaking modifiers based on role. Don’t want to put the only people with maxed armor on the same side

8 RepliesLol is this a joke?

7 RepliesChrist people, all of a sudden you have troubles vs teams yet in every call of duty that had multiplayer with parties had team stacking. You didnt say anything about it back then, what happened?
-
I don't see anything wrong with it since I am a solo Gambit player, but I don't play to win now that I have my 3rd reset and need just 1 more light vs. light for the title either. Mixed bag, but I don't see it happening any time soon. Comp needed it more, you really were hit with a big disadvantage without a team (I'm not saying it wasn't possible to solo queue comp, but it was an uphill battle). Here it's more of an inconvenience. It's like facing stacked teams in quickplay.

I get more worried when I see Reckoners on the other team than a four stack.

1 ReplyEdited by GMDeece7: 10/24/2019 4:02:59 PMWho cares about winning in gambit to be honest. You see all of those people running around for 10 to 15 minutes with the enemy having enough motes to bank and invade. People only do gambit for quests and bounties. That’s why everyone not on a team plays so badly. They are focused on those and nothing else. They pretty much say screw it, right at the start and basically think in their mind it doesn’t matter if I win. Just get those bounties done. This is nothing new. Even with a freelance playlist, gambit still will only be there for most people minds due to bounties.
-
2 RepliesIn theory, it sounds a good idea but I think it should be a team only activity in its present climate Too many ignore the game and team mates just to get the bounties. The amount of times nobody willing to revive, fighting over heavy ammo spawns, invading at the wrong times, ignoring the invader whilst focused on ads or primeval, and the worst has to be ignoring the buff zone whilst dp the primeval.. I’d mention the motes but that’s manageable with randoms. You’re best with your own fireteam. Post ads for like minded souls 👊

When i hit legend i noticed a difference. Up to that point it wasnt bad

3 RepliesEdited by WP ScorpionWind: 10/24/2019 5:27:50 AMHow would that work? The game mode (which I actually rather like to be honest) is designed around to see which team can get the prime evil out and killed first, while sabotaging the enemy, with blockers and invading them yourself. I don't see how that could be done with out an enemy team. It'd be basically a tiny version of the nightmare hunt but without the nightmares, very tiny maps, and a very mechanic heavy with almost no real challenge.

Edited by Doge: 10/24/2019 7:41:07 AMlol funny enough I googled this right when I lost to a 4 stack while my team were all randos Yes we do need it

As another poster said it’s because no one cares and is only there for quests or bounties. To further that you no longer need to reset your rank for this seasons “ritual” weapon. So it’s literally a bounty mode for majority of players.

Honestly every PvP-related activity should have a Freelance variant.

Makes sense. Good suggestion. Getting matched against a team isn’t really an automatic loss or anything, but you’re right it does give them an inherit advantage.
