Did they really bring back old, dead bosses as the main gimmick and call it an expansion? Another fine example of just how lazy and uncreative the people at Bungie are.
10 minute campaign mission where the big finale is, wait for it, CROTA! Even your Ghost knew this was stupid when he said "Didn't we already kill him?". Then BOOM you're on the MOON (recycled) doing PATROLS?! Seriously?
I know what you ALL are going to say if you like this game and support it. It doesn't change the fact that Bungie is pissin on the player base and calling it rain. Lazy buncha social justice type kids working there who's parents paid their college tuition to game design school. Now they get to kick back and pretend life is hard while they spoon feed already chewed food back into the mouths of the population. They know it's true I'm just waiting for YOU to figure that out.
Let's put it into perspective, you go to watch Avengers Endgame and find it's composed 75% of clips from Infinity War. You gonna walk out of the theater saying, "Well, the movie producers were really busy so I'm ok with this.". Nah, of course not but that's basically the situation here. Yet Bungie had plenty of time to build up Eververse with the emotes, finishers, ornaments. They had time to come up with a season pass system and ALL THAT is extra money on top of the "expansion" that contained tons of recycled content. Are we forgetting the RESKINNED RAID ARMOR? What about the fact that none of the vendor gear has refreshes in 3 years?!
Like I said, if you like the game, that's on you, I consider that you having no respect for yourself, but whatever. You still can't disagree with their business practice being shady and that if something can't be monetized, it's not a priority. If they want to bring D1 content into D2 it needs to be free and added between paid expansions.

Edited by SouLFeeS: 10/10/2019 4:23:30 PMI hear you. Admittedly, when I first hit the moon, I was nostalgic. It was fun. That wears off pretty fast though. I don’t know if your Endgame vs Infinity War comparison is accurate. Seems more like seeing Luke, Leah, Han and Chewy in a new story. To be fair, the moon is also significantly bigger than in D1. However, people making comments here talking about how “you people” screamed for D1 to return are just lying. I don’t mind people sticking up for Bungie, or even Bungie apologists, but when you lie in the effort, you just make Bungie look really bad. Fact is, what people were screaming for was the return of D1 playability - economy, leveling etc. - not content. The closest we got to content was asking for weapons, armor design, faction inventory and crucible. I saw a few posts of people asking for VoG or Crota, but no one cared. Those posts never got traction. All this reuse is Bungie’s idea, and, frankly, OP has a point. Shadowkeep looks like Bungie doesn’t have the skillsets to do anything new. Well, that’s not fair. More like they only have the skills to do so much. But, they do seem to have maximized production with what they have. I don’t think they can get away with it for D3, if it happens, but I do think each new season has to be on par with this current offering. I also think they must address the Armor 2.0 v Mod element limitation, or engagement is going to fall off drastically in the next few weeks, and those folks won’t return. I also think people who bought deluxe should get a discount for each additional season they purchase. Most people who purchase games for a household don’t know what BattlePass means, and they don’t have time to read fine print for a video game. It’s a bad look, even if it was just an oversight. Besides, offering that discount will increase sales, and it’s the kind of move that makes people trust your company, which is retention. If people feel like they have to read your fine print, they will also be predisposed to not purchasing at all.
Should people always read fine print? Absolutely. But, if they go into a purchase trusting the company implicitly, they won’t. If they get screwed, it will “feel” like betrayal...bad faith. That’s just the way it is.
3 RepliesEnough of the hypocrisy. This forum screams at Bungie 24/7 about how d1 was the greatest and how this game should be more like d1. Bungie is giving in and doing somewhat what you people scream for and now you're bashing it. In my opinion, you guys have no idea what you want and are clueless.

25 RepliesI take it you bought Shadowkeep? So you read this description? “Something stirs on the surface of our forgotten moon – spiritual remnants of the past, haunted by the memories of their deaths. So strong is their torment that it has begun to reshape reality itself, calling forth waking nightmares that mimic foes once thought conquered by Guardians” Now you come here and complain? You my friend are an idiot and a fool who willingly spent money on something expecting it to be completely different from the description.

2 RepliesHonestly you sound like a baby. I understand the criticism being thrown their way for boss rehashing but at the same time they brought in SO much new gear to farm and grind for. Btw you didn’t have to pay a single dime for this expansion ;) “Bunch of lazy social justice types” what are you on about? You sound one of those kids that foams out the mouth when someone slams you and takes it out on his wife for the 100th time. After you stop crying due to your inner frustration and go to sleep I’m sure you’ll wake up feeling very confident and message the kid back trying to call him/her out with 1 hand on your private part while roasting them. You sure showed them pal, afterwards you can look at your drywall and high-five it trying to make it feel better after you punch it about 30 times when your wife isn’t there. You’re just a beta kiddo.

The more i read the forums, after years of not doing so, i realize what a strange fan base bungie must have. Reading the comments under this post makes me just wonder about it.

1 ReplyBest DLC ever, get lost

5 RepliesReskinned content = the easy money, sadly.

11 RepliesEdited by ZDragonLord X: 10/7/2019 5:10:26 PMIt has its ups and downs. I knew full well what I was buying, and am happy with it so far. Sure it reused old stuff, so? You knew what you were getting into. And you allegedly didn't buy it and pawned it off another and barely have progress, so what do you care? These forums and other outlets are filled with bias/braindead/sheep/hypocritical idiots. They demand old stuff from D1 that worked, then cry when it happens... I enjoyed destroying Crota again. Upon finding Skolas's ship early I was like, "this seems familiar..." Then I got to the walker room and was like "holy shit, it is his ship!" Even grinned at the specter "easter egg" in the old cheese room. The nostalgia in this dlc was worth it for me. Was it short? Yes. Was it vague? Yes. Is there room for more as it goes? Yes, Eris has 4 fireteam members to set free yet. We finally found out what those pyramid ships were from years ago. We got, kinda, the firefight-esque gametype people have been asking for, albeit not endless. You want brand new content from the ground up? Go make the code, script, dialogue, models, animations, story, location, etc in 4 months. Let's see you come up with it all with absolutely no crossover or overlap anywhere, while also catering to every crybaby on social outlets. It's harder than you think. Sure it has a long way to go, and a lot is still missing, but it's a start. Y3 D1 was the major turning point, let's wait and see for D2. Edit: autocorrect is crap.

1 ReplyEdited by Dreampoint: 10/8/2019 4:58:02 AMHonestly at the end of they this just makes me remember how seriously I take a game hahaha. I need to chillout now after seeing this.

13 RepliesEdited by cRaZyT101: 10/7/2019 4:57:31 PMI agree that I found fighting the D1 bosses again... underwhelming. But I'd suggest making a post that doesn't have you look like you're throwing a tantrum.

2 RepliesI don't think individual developers deserve that kind of criticism. That's stuff reserved for shot callers. Jason Jones, Pete Parsons, and probably Luke Smith and Mark Noseworthy too.
-
But they aren't the same! They are the NIGHTMARE of those old bosses. It's all in your head man. I agree, reused content is so overdone in this game.
-
You'll get over it :)

Edited by Corrick II: 10/7/2019 5:59:56 PMYeah, I wasn’t too thrilled about the old bosses being reskinned, that pretty much told me everything I need to know about what I was buying. Is it worth it? Eh... that depends. I’m already rolling in armor and gear repeats, but then again, I also understand what’s going on at Bungie. They’re operating on a strict budget without a publisher. Do I like the scarcity of loot and abundance of reskins? Of course not. But I DO like the core mechanics, which are still absolutely the best of any game of this type, I love the Moon coming back, and the Vex have always been my favorite enemy so the whole invasion thing is cool. Also the moon weapons look pretty cool, despite the weird bondage thing they’ve got going on. No, the narrative still isn’t that great, and yeah, Bungie is still trying desperately to keep us grinding in not so subtle ways, but hey... if I stop liking it, there are plenty of other games to play.
-
2 RepliesLazy? So you are the kind of person who expects not the slightest hint of recycled content. Everything brand new. Lmao. I don’t see the issue, it’s a very interesting expansion and sure they’re the old bosses. Do you know the lore implications due to them being nightmares?
-
2 RepliesWhy don't you do a better game, if it's that easy?
-
Big facts the dlc is lazy and uninspired, other then the red keep and some lost sectors it's the exact same moon with the same enemy race and the same bosses. It's not innovative or new or interesting. Main draw for destiny for me is the raids and endgame, new raid looks really cool so that's a plus and the dungeon better be sick, otherwise this dlc was worth $15 max.

1 Replysounds like someone pissed in your Cheerios and called it milk. not Bungie's fault. did anyone ever consider this is how they are merging D1 and D2, so it's one game?
-
1 ReplyI find it hard to believe that this post is coming from a 39 year old what the hell

Edited by Big_Daddeh_: 10/7/2019 4:37:16 PMBig time facepalm lmao

4 RepliesSo you probably only did the first mission, didn't care about any of the story, saw crota and had to come crying?
-
2 RepliesYeah. I loved the dark below, when it first dropped. Playing it again bugs me.

7 RepliesWe want D1 and they're giving it to us in PvP and PvE but with a twist. So stfup please and thank you

1 ReplyMy name is Cwota.

4 RepliesYou think the big finale was Crota, as opposed to ****SPOILERS INSIDE****
The Pyramid Ship?
