The disagreement lies in whether or not human activity has a significant impact. At one time, alarmists were claiming human activity was the cause of the global cooling trend. Now, they claim human activity is the cause of the global warming trend. Who would have the audacity to argue against the "scientific consensus"? Well, a scientist would. In fact, such a question seems to be anti-science. But, what do I know? My bachelor of science degree has less weight in discussions of science than bachelor of arts degrees.

This isn’t a “liberals bad” thing. This is science. We are talking about science and you link me a couple of videos from POLITICAL ACTIVISTS with absolutely no training in climate science? If you want to convince me show me some links to [u]actual science[/u] - not YouTube political shit. Science isn’t about politics or personal opinion. It’s about the evidence. The fact you think scientists are “told what to think” shows you don’t understand how science works. Scientist don’t just write a paper expressing their “opinion” and that becomes the accepted theory. How it works is they make observations and come up with a hypotheses (or model) that they think explains the observations. This model is then tested by gathering evidence - whether that’s temperature readings or ice core data or whatever. If the model comports to the evidence then it is tentatively accepted. Other scientists then go on to gather more evidence and try to test this model. If the evidence can falsify it (prove it wrong) the model is rejected. If the evidence continually and consistently backs up the model then that model becomes more solid and widely accepted. Anthropomorphic climate change model has mountains and mountains of evidence backing it up now. There are literally thousands of papers published on this every year - with mountains of evidence. That’s how consensus is built - by the weight of evidence - not by “opinions”. If you want to falsify climate change you will need to provide a alternate explanation that adequately explains the mountains of evidence demonstrating anthropomorphic climate change. Like I said - show me the science. Not YouTube conspiracy videos. Stop letting political views dictate whether you accept science or not. We are talking about evidence. Evidence doesn’t care about what side of the aisle you sit. Science doesn’t care about your opinion.
