I am a year one D1 player and am an average player at best with a 1.0 KD. I still love this game for what it possibly could be.
Last night I was playing with a few guys in my clan in the Crucible (quick play), the first team shut us out and the second team we had no reason playing against, there worst player had a better KD then any of us and we got utterly stomped on. Then we went into Gambit and what do ya know, it was more of the same. But when I went in by myself it was more manageable but still not what I should have been playing against. I like the majority of players want to go back to skill based match making. I know it was changed when a few 0.01% KD content creators made youtube videos on how they couldn't go into a crucible match and come out with 50 plus kills. No One should be able to get that many kills in a single match, what do you think that does to the average player that you just stomped on? Then in their videos they are aggressively smack talking those same players. It makes them not wanna play anymore. If it was skill based match making, it would be fun for all instead you have been catering to a group of people who are literally 0.01% of your overall revenue, something is really wrong with that and it needs to change. I know its gonna take a little more work for the Devs, but it will make a huge impact on the amount of people playing in the crucible.
Now I am not crying or whining about this, so please refrain from childish comments like Get Good Scrub and so on. I am simply a mouth piece for those who don't speak up. I just want this game to be really fun again for everyone like the 99.99% of us players that fund this game and others. We want real changes to be made in the crucible and gambit game modes.
Also nerfing weapons because content creators say so should never ever be a solution. Because lets face it, there is a lot more wrong with the crucible than a weapon or two and nerfing weapons will not fix anything, it will just be nerf train until it is no longer fun to play. So please Bungie make the crucible and gambit fun again.

This is quick play now and it's sad

7 RepliesConnection is the most important aspect in pvp, if you don’t know this, stay out of it.

6 RepliesJudging by the comments on this post, you were very wrong when u assumed that most of the community wants to go back to SBMM 😂.

8 RepliesYou’ll be playing sweats because there isn’t a big enough player base atm. Only 170k pvp the other day across 3 platforms. I’ve seen a lot of sweats, but most of them don’t play solo as well. Just back out find a new game. Also if you find you get put into the same game after backing out, just chose another mode ie rumble then cancel and start searching again. I rarely see ppl with DRB/NF/wardcliff play solo because most aren’t that good. The ones I do usually drop a 1.7 kda and back out before the game ends. I am average in pvp but can say my stats are my own, got Luna solo, MT and recluse solo and it feels good to be able to say I didn’t get carried or pay. I don’t think SBMM can return until we have double/triple the population in pvp, with the stigma pvp has in destiny it’s hard to see it ever getting back to those numbers. I play pvp daily and enjoy it for the most part but really wish there was more incentive to play and to change up load outs. Bounties could do this if done right for the right rewards. Maybe if some D1 favs got brought back in bounties it could help the diversity of pvp. You could have a weekly bounty for longbow which requires x kills with a sniper, doctrine of passing x kills with autos, eyasluna hand cannon kills etc This would be a reason to play pvp outside the meta and getting a longbow with HH or eyasluna with LiTC would be appealing, no?

please end yourself.

2 RepliesSBMM -blam!-ed D1 man. If you don't want to get shit on in PvP, spend more time playing PvP and get better. I honestly don't know about D2 though, I haven't played in like a year.

22 RepliesAnyone else remember the couple days where the entire forum was covered with "remove SBMM" posts? Just me?

1 ReplyNo point when they need to bring back skill first.

1 ReplyEdited by Fibby: 5/11/2019 4:20:52 PMI’ve been playing comp for the past couple of days, solo queuing and with a glory score moving back and forth between 2500-3000.... Now, since the game uses a form of SBMM there where it matches me with other players of similar score, i’m playing in a limited pool of players. If we had SBMM based on my stats in QP, it would be a similar situation where i would again be in a limited player pool. What i’m seeing in comp right now is almost constant connection issues, more than half of the games i get are basically unplayable. My bullets tickle the enemy instead of killing them, i’m dying around corners, melees don’t connect, etc. Several times a day i’m matched with both solo players as well as fireteams that are not even from the same continent as i am, and far too many lobbies that only consist of other EU players are too laggy to be considered competitive because this game has a P2P-system. I understand that a ranked mode should be just that and players need to be matched by their rank, and that the lack of players is the biggest reason why these things happen, but it also shows how poorly this game performs when the matchmaking uses anything else other than best possible connection. P2P with SBMM achieves nothing but constant connection issues.

43 RepliesSBMM (based on average K/D) is a necessity in all PvP activities. Only fools would think otherwise

You will still get clapped regardless of the matchmaking, get good and stop crying like a little -blam!-.

7 RepliesYou would see more 1% WITH SBMM. Imagine a game that can correctly predict how many kills you will get vs X players.. then be right over 75+% of the time.. At that point you are not even playing the game, they are. SBMM is a plague to TRY and get players to play PvP for X amount of times. For the hardcore players, it screws them. For the Bottom 50% it screws them by making lobbies progressively worse until X player starts to increase his MMR. Therefore making you delusional at how good you are, then forcing you into lobbies to LOSE on purpose. The system is not for ANYONE. Its terrible and anyone who understands what exactly its doing will not play the game under it. SBMM has RUINED games. #1 Halo 5.. its popilation of solo ques plumented FAST. Why? Its all SBMM, yes even SOCIAL. Imagine a social playlist with SBMM. Thats the same as making QP SBMM, and that is PATHETIC. No reason to play a game when SBMM is the end all of who wins and who loses.

11 RepliesEdited by $hirtless Captain Kirk: 5/9/2019 2:29:16 PMBro sbmm is not the answer. It'd make your experience even worse. You'd be connected with players from Mars and lag like crazy the game's population is low. Let a major content drop hit. You are only gonna face die hards right now regardless.

1 ReplyNope everyone wanted this which is false but hey that's on us i wish i can remember a certain word to describe the community.
-
4 RepliesNever forget when SBMM was here everyone cried about it so now those people that cried about it are being stomped by the sweats.
-
2 RepliesIt's not even content creators who want things nerfed its pve crybabies

Edited by Madness Tus: 5/10/2019 5:22:32 PMYou do understand whether its skill base or non-skill base you will still meet someone that will wipe the floor with you? Why? because you gonna be playing against people that are more or less within your skill level meaning either 1 of you have a chance of coming on top and majority of the time you'll be playing against the meta cause ppl wants to win, so it's gonna be like a constant competitive match to see who would win but in non-skill base now, you got random people, so it can be sweats, ppl around your level or below your level, in short, you have a better chance of winning. take this from me, you will enjoy this game even less if they bring skill base MM in QP and remember i told you that.

1 ReplyI play Crucible non-stop, and I absolutely agree with you. Some of the people I play against have no business being in a game with me, and I can see how they would get frustrated. And I'm all for more people enjoying the Crucible. I clearly remember all the "my games are too sweaty" complaints. And I've never understood it. You only have fun beating up on players far less experienced than you? That's cowardly. Play with people at your skill level.

15 RepliesWithout dedicated servers. Hell no. I'd rather lose knowing I tried my best, rather than lose because noobmaster69 in Panama is teleporting along the walls.

I used to fervently argue for SBMM in D2. But over time, I've come to realize a few things: When SBMM is turned on, it's not like everyone in the lobby is in chill mode because they know it's relatively fair. They're actually having to try very hard to maintain a 1.0. When people say they don't want to get into a lobby with some insanely skilled streamer, I understand that frustration because it feels totally unfair. But those matches, in the long run, are balanced out by games where your casual mode plays are still stomping the other team. With SBMM, there is no casual. If you're scrub level, with SBMM enabled, maybe you'll be matched with other "scrubs" but that doesn't mean the game is "casual" (relative to you). It actually means all the scrubs in the lobby are still going to be trying very hard. Hell, that's assuming the SBMM is even accurate. There will still be blowouts here or there with SBMM.
-
Personally I agree with this as I have better games in Banner than I do on average in quickplay. The real thing I want though is to stop getting matched with meta teams of six. It would be fine if I was matched with a team of five but that's only ever happened twice during my whole time playing Forsaken.

Think of it like this. If you're an average player then your average game will be challenging sometimes and easier sometimes. Withsbmm it will always be sweaty and pre determined.
