Isn't that your fault for misusing cores? If some people have "5000" like you say, and you only have 3, instead of doing what you are now, look back on what you have currently done, and think about if you could've done anything differently.

hi there, as someone who sits on average with about 150-200 cores; as of now any player is ONLY guaranteed 6 cores a week if you have 1 character. If you have 3 - that's 18 cores - not even enough to infuse and fully masterwork a single item. The rest of the cores are completely based on RNG - you can be very lucky and get a lot - or like most people - barely see any. The assumption that people are missusing cores is a fallacy as you have no idea of how anyone is spending cores. The general consensus amongst reddit, the forums here, and even podcasts including DCP - is actually saying people are actually just hoarding cores, and not doing anything until they get to 700 - which by then the interested to infuse and masterwork is almost gone as there is nothing really worth doing @ 700. The only endgame activity in this DLC is tier 3 reckoning which in itself is going to net you 700 gear as long as you're not at bare minimum of 690. This system, no matter how you slice it, is broken - cores should have never been added to infusion. also, as for OP stated the "5000" cores; it's probably safe to say they are referring to the "exploit" that if you were lucky enough to be online when the update happend you're probably sitting with an absurd amount of cores that you'll never run out of. Hell one youtuber posted his video, he had enough time to FULLY masterwork every item on his characters and vault and then stockpile cores in case bungie tried to remove the cores - @ least he had infused his gear and they wouldnt be able to take those back.

  • - Scrapper bounties - Scrap legendary weapons or armor that is enhanced, or Curative Rolls which are FULLY Masterworked - Rank up in crucible (Legend Rank (for Quickplay) Gives a guaranteed 10 Cores - Finest Matterweave - Certain Events, such as the latest Crimson Days, which had a Present Option to use Candy Hearts for a chance at Masterwork Cores - Purchase them From Spider for Legendary Shards, which has the amount reset every daily reset - This season at a Clan rank 4, completing a clan vendor challenge awards Enhancement cores (Previously there was the Weekly Clan Milestone at Rank 6, and only 1 i believe) - Spider's Wanted Bounties Give Masterwork Cores (6 Guaranteed Cores) ------------------------------ Not Counting these If you want I can include a farming method (purchase Planetary Materials from Spider that are being traded with Legendary Shards, give them to their respective Vendor, scrap everything given (awards mod components as well)). Curated weapons that do not need masterwork cores. you can't tell me that, in his words, over "thousands of hours played," only 3 cores are obtained with only 6 guaranteed cores a week
- Scrapper bounties
- RNG
- Scrap legendary weapons or armor that is enhanced, or Curative Rolls which are FULLY Masterworked
- RNG; to date i've only had 3 curated rolls, 2 of which are black armory weapons which i USE so dismantling isnt an option
- Rank up in crucible (Legend Rank (for Quickplay) Gives a guaranteed 10 Cores
- okay, i'll be honest I complete forgot about this
- Finest Matterweave
- i haven;t had one drop since season of drifter launched
- Certain Events, such as the latest Crimson Days, which had a Present Option to use Candy Hearts for a chance at Masterwork Cores
- exactly, a chance, so RNG
- Purchase them From Spider for Legendary Shards, which has the amount reset every daily reset
- true, but after buying 2 you're pretty much done unless you want to go poor
If you want I can include a farming method (purchase Planetary Materials from Spider that are being traded with Legendary Shards, give them to their respective Vendor, scrap everything given (awards mod components as well)).
- everyone knows this; but the whole premise of that method is praying to RNG - also i'm sorry, but that is a grind no one wants to do - i have personally spent over 3 hours doing this multiple times and never received more than 10 cores - it isn't worth it.
Curated weapons that do not need masterwork cores.
- in the rare chance you get a curated roll - you are probably going to use it as most curated rolls are actually worth keeping and using.

I think they should either be easier to obtain or just used to masterwork items. 5000 was reference to the exploit.
