Well of coarse it will have matchmaking for everything. The hell you think this is 1994?
-
2 RepliesPeople cant even figure out how the corrupted strike work yet you want matchmaking for raids?
-
I’m all for it. This means their “endgame” activities won’t have convoluted mechanics. Whether it’s good or not will be another story. I really hope it is, but I’m used to being disappointed with games at this point so I’m not getting my hopes up. A friend of mine will be playing the closed beta so I’ll be checking that out and deciding from there.

1 ReplyCool, Alpha was still HOT GARBAGE. Vanilla Division was even better than Anthem's gameplay.
-
Eh. I'm excited for Anthem too, but I fully expect a poop show and a steep learning curve for bioware in the first year. Now Division 2.... that finished in a really good place and they seemed to have learned from all their division 1 mistakes. And they had matchmaking in all activities in division 1. That game could really hit the ground running.
-
14 RepliesIt also has dedicated servers (unlike Bungies colossal failure) It also has no season pass (unlike Bungies colossal failure) Lot of Anthem posts popping up lately. Think Bungie has noticed? .......nahhhh probably not. They already have our money.
-
The only time this is a positive is against destiny. Every other time it's just a given.
-
4 RepliesAnd permanent shaders and a real skill tree and no pvp. It's going to be awesome.
-
1 ReplyAlso no PvP. The game is already a success in my books. Focus on RPG builds and open world play rather than half assing PvE and PvP in the same sandbox
-
1 ReplyIt's a 3rd person shooter. It will compete with the division, not Destiny. Enjoy the matchmaking!
-
3 RepliesAnthem will not make it three months and the comparisons to Destiny are so silly and excessive. It would be cool if we could play what we enjoy and embrace that instead bashing something else in the process. Like do people listen to Beatles records so they can better mock The Rolling Stones? No they don’t.
-
4 RepliesI'm going to have to agree with a lot of people here, in that Anthems mechanics probably wont be that tough. I'm not expecting bosses to just stand there and soak up all of our ammo, but you're not going to see an Argos style boss fight in Anthem.
-
9 RepliesI’m sure their end game stuff isn’t as convoluted as D2 raids with boring/tedious mechanics. And you know what? That’s a great thing.
-
2 RepliesBye! I say this to all the Losers here commenting who think anyone truly cares.
-
These kids never learn do they? More like the didn’t see the problem from Destiny doing it and now they will have issues also.
-
3 RepliesFor those of us looking forward to anthem endgame, thats not good news at all. Historicaly, when developers implement matchmaking, which runs high risk of little to no communication amongst players, it signals that its going to be a casual/low intensity activity that requires little to no communication. This news for me has just compounded what i already feared about the game. That it will be a shallow boring 3rd person shooter with 'endgame' that lacks any real challenge. I'll be back here to confirm after the inevitable crash and burn.
-
8 RepliesBesides nightfall, what else would you really need matchmaking for? The forges showed what a disaster raid matchmaking would be. Now, I'm not hating on anthem, just praying that if everything has matchmaking, there will be enough difficulty to warrant trying the higher level content. If I can just walk into it with randoms, no communication, for an easy clear, I just feel that would grow quite boring very easily. I enjoy raiding each week because its at least a semblance of a challenge and a mode that not everyone can complete. Not to soundelitist, but it does give a feeling of satisfaction. accomplishing a task others cannot. Cheers though, hoping this game kills it. Definetly eont replace destiny for me, although I havent been on in a while. But I hope itll will be a great game.

I feel sorry for all you damsels in distress that are waiting for EA to save you from whatever evil lair Bungie is holding you hostage in.
-
1 ReplyYeh it's also third person. Third person sucks giant donkey dick.
-
Hopefully this means you won’t be on the Destiny forums anymore. 😀
-
12 RepliesEdited by Mercury: 1/17/2019 4:18:43 AMThis just means that all activities in anthem are simple enough that it will require little to no communication or teamwork. That’s not a bad thing my point is that activities in destiny and anthem are built for completely different types of people.
-
Translation: there are no challenges in this game...seriously, I hope you love the game...and don't get bored with the easy content in two weeks. I hope all the people who want to love it, actually do, and don't get mad that it was overhyped and praised relentlessly before it even releases.
-
Translation: Minimal mechanics that might require coordination leading to repetitive, boring activities with just a difficulty slider for variation. Don't get me wrong, I'll still be playing. I just won't be surprised when the content ends up being Division like once the honeymoon period is over.

It'll flop

Well, if it’s anything like Mass Effect’s various multiplayers then, while there may be matchmaking at the highest levels (ie platinum games), it still takes a coordinating, communicating team to beat it.
