Ive only ever played WoW/Diablo. They release the expansion, and throughout the expansion they add content. After that there's a new expansion. The game is released in its entirety and priced accordingly.
Annual pass seems like the game is partially released, you pay for it, then pay for it again to access features that should have been released in the base game. Kind of like microtransactions except youre buying additional content. It seems pretty slimey.

22 RepliesEdited by WarjackPrime: 11/26/2018 8:56:20 PMFor all you whiners out there, it’s $10 per DLC. Who cares about $10? Geez! I tipped the freaking pizza delivery guy $5. For $10 anything will be worth it. If you whiny biatches hate this game then please leave and stop posting on these forums. Why even bother to come here just to whine? Just leave. Please.

You buy annual pass, you get 3 small expansions of content sprinkled throughout the year. From what I’ve seen they will mainly be about new activities and gear and less about story.
-
1 ReplyYou give bungie moneys. The rest is still being worked out.
-
Its basically a large 30$ expansion strung across 3 seasons effectively split between the 3. Think of it as just 3 expansions from a normal game paid for at once rather than 3 separate times. Kinda similar to a season pass in something like cod or stuff, but with destiny content.
-
14 Repliesyou pay money for stuff that should already be in the game
-
BUngie doesn't charge a monthly fee. You are paying for that content in WOW through your monthly fee
-
Pretty basic: Bungie charges some money for the pass, and in return, that income, at least partially, provides funding for future live updates. The benefit for us is, we know exactly when and what is coming out, and that it is semi set in stone. The benefit to them is additional profit and full live team funding for the year.
-
It's for the your, it gets you all the dlc that is coming out in that year. What's not to understand? It seems logical to me. You must be special needs, I apologize.

Edited by MindfulPizza: 11/27/2018 1:49:49 PMIt just more nerf stuff , and getting to point it just a pinhole game , and no users have fun anymore , from what so far been release , one week it that weapon , or next week they nerf a users build so another way , while takening out 80% there content . on fun . not everyone plays everyday , and yet those people can have fun , if the counters stay in the game also. usally they nerf and take away the counters also.

1 ReplyI only want to buy Black Armory, but I have to get everything. So idek wtf to do now.
-
1 ReplyThere is going to be a shit-storm when Bungie inevitably makes an apex god weapon that is only available to Season Pass holders. A lot of Season Pass haters will be purchasing it not to long after. The cats at Bungie might not know shit about balancing a video game, but they’re masters at farming cash from their player base.
-
2 RepliesAn annual pass is where you have to buy the updates that use to be free. Should change the name to anal pass, because we all know its gonna be shit anyways.
-
Edited by Corbin1234: 11/27/2018 1:27:58 PMHave you never heard of a season pass ever? It’s not a partial release it’s new content that you pay for, in D1 there was nothing to do for an entire year
-
1 Replyok bro first off I already know you know what annual pass means, you just making your own jebait post.
-
If you want to play an online game all the time and want maintenance and updates you need to give back too. Whats "slimey" about that? You pay ten bucks for WOW, and the DLCs. It's weird to me to expect more and pay less.
-
The annual pass is a smaller amount of mostly bullet points ( and the 1 thing we know like TLW) that we are expected to pay for like good idiots because trusting Bungie will never turn out bad...
-
1 ReplyPersonally I don’t like giving anyone money before I receive the product. Seems like a no brainer
-
It’s destiny way of saying “bend over”
-
29 RepliesIt worries me that we know so little about it just before release. It reaks of a very small dlc with not much content, if it had loads in it they would be screaming about it.
-
9 RepliesThe AP content should have been free.
-
You pay money to participate in throw away events like the Dawning for trash like masks and emotes. A few other bs activities. It's basically trying to keep you paying since they knew from forecasts that Forsaken would under perform. It's just a cash grab to sell you recycled content.
-
The annual pass is a way to cheat money out of people’s pockets before they even know what they are purchasing.
-
Don’t buy it, there, explained
-
3 RepliesYou pretty much hit it on the head. Destiny has pretty much become a subscription service that in order to get updated content, you have to be a subscriber (pay again, and again, and again...) I get needing revenue to keep producing content, but even when the game came out, it was only a couple months before you had to buy the DLC. It's like Bungie is saying that stand-alone D2 is a complete, $60 game, and when compared with other games that have come out, it isn't even close to that. I don't mind paying fore expansions, but when you have to pay for new content 3 times a year, it gets a bit ridiculous.

4 RepliesThey put out a DLC then barely do any bug fixes, updates, or proper maintenance then go into hiding. Then, when it’s time to sell you more content, they suddenly pretend to be all excited about the game again. Rinse & repeat. 😐
