Iron Banner Matchmaking is terrible
So nearly every game I’ve played has been a complete blow out, the other team is filled with Luna’s or not forgotten....
Have they changed the matchmaking? Cause I’m ready to forget destiny again for while.

I got mercied every game and it wasn’t even against 6 stacks every time. Obviously I went to LFG and had to make a 6 stack and then we proceeded to mercy other teams but something is definitely off this week. Bungie please look into it. As I said, I mostly play solo and don’t get mercied EVERY SINGLE GAME. It’s -blam!-ey this week

I haven't done too bad but I hate loading into a losing game where I'm faces a team with a 40 plus lead and the whole enemy team has a super. They should give a super buff to people that are dropped into a match late.

And yet still no word from bungie that they acknowledge this is a really problem and Wil be doing something to address this. It is a shame that as much as they try to move forward it truly seemscthey have no f**king idea what they are doing with this game. It's like giving a 5 year old a Ferrari to drive.

7 RepliesYep. Can confirm. Played Eight matches. Won seven. Six were decisive win mercy rules. There’s zero skill consideration in matchmaking. Actually having some team balance would make this pvp so much better. We need: Teams against teams. Relative skill against skill.

I don't understand why any of you play PVP in this game. I would lose my mind. The MM is nonexistent and the P2P model is horrible and allows cheating very easily. I don't understand why people continue punishing themselves playing PVP when there are a million better options out there. This is one of the games where they really need to stop investing in PVP and pool all their resources into PVE. I would change that statement if they had dedicated servers but they don't and never will.

11 RepliesI’ve decided to stay out of IB and play the bare minimum crucible for milestones since Bungo killed sbmm. It’s a shitstorm that only favours sweats and stacks. I was really enjoying crucible before this change and planned to play a shittonne of season 4 crucible. Bungo made sure that didn’t happen. The match-making is disgraceful and it’s still laggy so what’s the point of dropping sbmm?

Matchmaking in IB is terrible, yet IB > Quick Play.

Impossible, boring, unfair, useless to play pvp for last 2-3 weeks cuz 1-2-3 guy in each game got Lunas or NF and u simply cant do anything. Stopped to play it. Feel my self as betrayed cuz was loving pvp in Destiny, but avoid competitive cuz of crap matchmaking - but now any pvp mode useless unfair trash cuz i cant overshot Lunas or NF with anything i have(

16 RepliesPvP is starting to canabize itself, insert various reasons here . I just finished my weekly milestone and it was a 50/50 break on blowouts .. each time bungie has to break up the teams to find a better match , and when I got to the 5th match after matchmaking for several minutes , I finally got an error , with a message that read " unable to find a fire team at this moment, please try again later " Bungie ran out of players CBMM is backfiring, and no amount of triple valor is gunna fix it ..

matchmaking in comp has been weird. one game you will match some teams who are way below you in KD 0.6's vs 1.2's. the next game those 1.2's will play 2.0's. however the connections are off as they seem to be throwing connections for euro based teams to mainly USA. When I played IB last the same thing was happening. I am not sure what they have tinkered with but its not cbmm and its not sbmm. its seems to be a weird mix of both that is just frustrating to play against. seems to be steam rolls followed by being steam rolled.

Iron Banner isn't fun at all. Quickplay is decent though, and the banner stuff isn't great anyway so thankfully there's no need to play it. Competitive is ok too apart from there being too much heavy. I dunno what it is about banner but it's just miserable. I likes it before they put light level advantages back in. Not sure if that screws it up

5 RepliesFirst, to be clear I do not Destiny pvp. I hate it. It was fun once in awhile but over the past years I've noticed too many inconsistencies that just outright pissed me off. Now I use to pvp in games like Modern Warfare and Battlefield, less issues but they were consistent issues that seemed ok. Now Destiny, I swear bullet registration is broke, lag, cheaters, poor matchmaking, glitch mechanics, goofy buffs for specific supers while others are so underwhelming, and now super guns that make every other gun almost not worth trying with. I can't find it within myself with all the rng mess and what I just stated to consistently run solo or with teammates to play hours of pvp. I don't even go after the daily or weekly loot. Oh and Gambit sucks as well. But that's another post.

Was playing a couple nights back with my brother. We had a couple blowouts so it kept breaking up teams. We get loaded into a game in progress and it puts us on separate teams... terrible... we decided to call out each other teams because we were in a party chat, haha

Let me see. Destiny PvP... Terrible... Nothing new to report here. It seems that the Bungo / 343 split left Bungo with no capable PvP leads...or there's just been a sort of collective amnesia at Bungo as regards how to make a quality PvP experience. Then again, as far as Bungo is concerned, the PvP they have offered is off the chart amazing. You only need to consider all their arrogant and out of touch decisions to realise they think this. Funny.

I started to see that last IB. I was seeing half the lobbies being people who were 600 to my 565 who all had luna's. to say I got slapped around wouldnt quite do it justice lol. while I am 600 now I havent got my luna yet so decided to skip this IB as its not worth the frustration to go against that gun in what I imagined would be a near non stop grind. IB weapons arent that great and I already had the armour so decided to save my time. Grind isnt worth the payoff for me. If there was a weapon like Felwinters, Radegast, Efrideet or Jolder's I'd be in there. Hell even a clever dragon would have had me play.

Bungie hasn’t addressed problems of matchmaking, region-locked matching, latency and lag for years. In D1 they didn’t know what to do either. Plus they’re there to make money so the possibility of them investing so that we could get servers and not peer to peer connections and 60 FPS is plain day-dreaming. This forum is full of post like yours - not blaming, I’ve posted similar ones many times - and have you heard Bungie say a word? No, nothing. They won’t do anything anytime soon unless all players stop playing in The Crucible- but that won’t happen either.

7 RepliesThis is my life in quickplay too bud, has been for a while. If you're claiming the Luna's n not forgotten show those players are better than you (that's what I think when I play them nonstop), you'd think it's not sbmm n must be regional right? But check their locations, Peru, Kuwait, Uzbekistan, etc. Truth is I think, there is a little sbmm protecting the potatoes from the gods, we the middle tier guys plug the gaps in the Luna lobbies. Why? Bcoz there aren't enough players. Crucible is rough if you're below avg, I'm not saying you are, but lots are, so they just don't play PvP at all, or just do the milestones. Why stay when you get destroyed by inviz bunny hopping Luna welding 4000 ping hector from Peru? Crucible has its draw, it's kind of unique in its PvP, but the mm + connections (mainly due to mm algorithms) kill it dead. Also do little variation despite what people have you believe, is mind numbing. Next time you see a Luna guy, check his character, 99 out of 100 will have Hunter/shotgun/Luna/wardcliff/stompees, n probably from a diff continent than you're from lol, seriously

I'd say it's bad. It decided to do a 6v2 (2 3 man teams) versus a 2 man team of me and a buddy. We were like no just no we screenshot that and left. Heaven forbid a 3 v 5 or waiting another minute to gather more people. One of the many reasons I'm hardly in there.

There is no SBMM in iron banner. Otherwise I'd have a decent team each match and not a bunch of morons feeding the enemy kills, heavy, supers and free wins.
