It is absolutely unacceptable that my team starts a match down a player, and we lose and it ruins a streak and costs points. I have no problem seeing the match through, and i dont even mind losing 26 points and rewarding the other team. If at any point in a match, however, we go down a player, it should NOT break a streak. Please fix this

I made a post some time ago about just removing the loss penalty altogether . At the end of the day, you still have to win to gain points so you still have to be good to get the higher ranked rewards. 10 RepliesQuitting on ppl sucks, agreed.. But it's comp so I expect complete nonsense. Had a guy last night start a match off just by jumping off the cliff..repeatedly.. so I just went on ahead n used his ghost as bait 2 kill the other team. We lost, but might as well make use of him in some way
-
11 RepliesIt can be easily exploited though. You make a team and someone always agrees to leave if you start losing.
-
24 RepliesWhat I think they should do, is if anyone quits ANY match... Crucible, Strike or Gambit, they should be banned form playing that mode until the next day. As a player, we all accept matchmaking. Sometimes it doesn't work out, but no excuse for cowards who don't see things through. Finish what you started!

3 RepliesPlay with a fireteam of 4. Lfg n build up your friends list. Quitter penalty isn’t harsh, n players get salty n leave. Sucks, but that’s part of the game.

4 RepliesYou gotta see the opportunity for abuses there. People rolling with a stack just keep one guy that drops on purpose when its clear they are going to lose a match. I think comp needs a "quitters hell". Have an algorithm that tracks how often you leave and when. Leave too many matches and you only get matched with other players who leave matches. Then they can all quit on each other

4 RepliesEdited by Jericho_Wolf99: 10/28/2018 4:39:31 AMYea it happens man. It sucks that competitive game modes like that have been forced down everyone throat. I'm not being a sarcastic asshole because I came up with the easy solution to this but no one wanted it. If you win a match you get 20 maybe 30 points added and goes up with the streak If you lose you get 10 points and lose nothing. It makes it easier for those who are not doing it to win they are doing either A for the experience or B for some stupid shit quest or bounty that is forced upon them by the game. It make the life of the game easier if people werent forced into the position of being a loser or being made to feel like a loser.

lol destiny competitive thats a good one

1 ReplyBungie thinks punishing players unfairly and worst unfair matching them in the first place is competitive
-
3 RepliesIf winning and/or keeping a win streak is of importance. roll with a team you know. At the end of the day it’s just a video game.
-
1 ReplyBungie should really look at competitive/ranked modes of other games. They should make it like Overwatch where, if someone leaves within the first 1 or 2 minutes of a match, the match is cancelled and no points are removed from players, except the player who left.

Ddos the other team ...

2 RepliesThe system is working as intended.

2 RepliesDestiny has become the crappy game. Lets find something better to play.
-
6 RepliesNO. It would be abused to the fullest extent.
-
2 RepliesThe only problem with that is the boosting issue. If you're in a team and you know you're going to lose, what is going to stop you from having a disignated teammate back out so you won't lose the streak?
-
That’s way too abusable

If it makes you feel better, I was playing a match during triple valor on a 5 streak. We were way ahead, probably half way theough the match and out of no where I lost power for not even a minute. Came back, 5 streak gone. The good thing is I got stuff done around the house for the wife.

I got booted from a comp and got a bungie error. Now I'm suspended for leaving early and got hit with a crazy point deduction
-
Maybe just lower the penalty for losing and winning based on # of players on each fireteam.

3 RepliesJust loaded into 2 3v4s in a row. FIX YOUR GAME

2 RepliesMy thought was that no game that doesn't finish with 8 players should be counted for or against any players, because the game was not fair. Seems simple enough, but it's too easy to game to keep your streak alive (by having one person in your team quit out if you're going to lose). So, then I asked myself, 'what do streaks have to do with representing 'skill'? The answer is nothing. It's an acceleration mechanic that frankly skews your actual rank by giving extra points just because you've won several games in a row. That's a problem. So, the answer (in my opinion) is to: - Do away with win streaks - When anyone leaves a game for any reason, the game will not add or subtract any points from any players in the match - All players should be prompted to abandon the game and if unanimous, the game should be abandoned so a new match can be found (time saving measure). - Anyone who leaves a match for any reason is given a strike (because it may have been network related or an error). 3rd strike within a time frame = big penalty (if your internet is booting you or Destiny is finicky, come back to comp later, or risk a penalty). This allows people to play it out if anyone abstains, but I think it would almost always result in a cancel/re-match every time, saving time and discouraging people from quitting to manipulate the outcome or to just get a better match. Glory points should only come from fair matches where all 8 participated for the whole game (which happens more often than you'd think).

roll with a team of four. kind of the whole point of competitive. If you are going to rely on people you dont know for this your point is a waste of space on forums!
-
Matchmaking is awful Start matches with 2 players, inevitable loss. No reason. Thats why i dont play it.

1 ReplyNo, it is acceptable , it happened and you accepted it. Don’t like it, then don’t play comp.
