Sleeper Simulante did not get a buff in pvp/gambit

This gun has been about for YEARS...... How in the hell is it about to get nerfed because of pvp? How many gods and high powered enemies have you killed with it? Get domed by it and oooooooh it's op. Sleeper moaners are the worst ever!!!

  • For a change I think this is the pve people moaning about a weapon. Gambit is pve first invasion pvp was second. It's why you see your team mates running around shooting enemies in the open when an invader is around. Three choices with an invader, split up and hunt them aggressively with shotgun, super or heavy or hole up and look for a bottle neck or shooting gallery. Lastly, and most common, stand in the bloody open with a target painted on your chest and complain when someone shoots you. If sleeper gets nerfed or removed in gambit people will turn to the next easiest ohk weapon. Just like D1 and the special ammo changes. First special was removed so ice breaker, then side arms, nlb, invective and so on until sticky nades.

  • i hope u know the wepon still has the same power, same damage, it just requires more skill to aim ^^, if you have been using the wepon for an extensive period of time this "nerf" should not bother you at all. so stop whining and move on.

  • Its only in gambit where its problematic. PvP you need heavy ammo which isn't exactly swimming in heavy all the time for you and the maps are mostly medium to small which means sleeper's strength of dealing with one player at long range is basically useless in PvP compared to other options. However, gambit is not the same. Gambit is all about long range, heavy ammo spawning both from adds and at the bank, and finally the meta is to burn the boss down as quickly as possible. Sleeper excells in all these aspects at an S+ tier. You get 4-5 shots per brick if you have the catalyst while other heavy options may get only one mag if at all. Sleeper will be a problem because of what gambit it is, so banning it in gambit makes logical sense so we can see weapon diversity in it.

  • People don’t switch it up enough and they use the same op weapons every game. Therefore it discourages players like myself from playing that particular game mode because I don’t want to use the same weapons all the time in order to compete. I felt the same way about the Graviton lance, it’s nothing against the gun, it’s about that certain player, who just can not crutch the best stuff every game.

  • Sleeper has been changed due to being a linear fusion via aim assist bump. This is also the case for snipers. Forsaken brought this with the free update. I have used sleeper pre forsaken and the Aim assist has beeen changed drastically. Dont make the mistake that D1 and D2 sleeper are the same gun. They are styled by the factoring system of each game.

    • Seems more of a gambit invasion issue rather than a weapon issue. Don’t want to see any weapon ruined due to pvp or gambit, but it is indeed obnoxious in gambit. 90% of deaths in gambit are probably from sleeper. You can barely see someone for a sec, halfway aim at them, and they’re done - OHKO from across the map. I’m wondering if they should just remove the overshield or the way invaders can so easily see opposing players anywhere on the map and even through all the obstacles and chaos and how they see how many motes they’re holding.

      • Absolutely. I've said it before and I'll say it again, the Sleeper issue in Gambit can only reasonably be fixed by changing Gambit, not by nerfing Sleeper.

        • Its not the weapon but the ammo economy of Gambit. There is so much heavy available that it’s not hard to get full ammo on Sleeper and start camping back mowing down invaders and primevals.

          • In crucible heavy ammo is scarce and if you get killed by it “oh well it’s still a heavy.” Plus most crucible maps are small so not the best conditions for sleeper. Meanwhile in gambit heavy ammo is plentyful so you can spam as many sleeper shots as you please, also the maps are big, open, and have great sight lines that sleeper takes way too much advantage of

            • I tell you what. I will accept a sleeper nerf in gambit if they make the telesto a heavy weapon. Thats the new crucible meta. Its easy mode.

            • I don't mind it because of how it also only takes one shot to kill the invaders so it's a pretty fair fight and you can back yourself to an area that if they want to kill you forces them through bottleneck areas. That said what's the alternative? Maybe have the invaders get an ever bigger over shield so they can't get one shot but have the portal drain their heavy so they have to rely on more conventional weapons but also become more imposing? Have the heavy come in so they have just one shot and then to get heavy back they need to get to the victims corpse where a second heavy drops? Forces then out of sniping everyone and actually engage players more. Again though I'm fine the way it is right now.

            • I just wish I knew how people (especially invaders who come in back to back) can scoop up so much damn heavy. I've gone almost 6 whole matches without ever seeing purple and yet it just seems to rain on the enemy team like week old Halloween candy on the discount shelf at Walmart.

              • It’s not that the weapon itself is overpowered. It was good as a heavy in D1 crucible, but most people preferred their fire-and-forget rockets. It’s that the sleeper is, by far, the best weapon to use in gambit, for both boss dps and invading. From the large map size, to the wall-hacks for invaders, to the one hit body shot kill. All of these factors contribute to it being a clear winner. Gambit is the problem, not the sleeper.
