This is absolutely ridiculous.

Look I saw no hope in D2 at first and I thought it was just gonna be another post for us to be disappointed by, but gosh dang they listened yet people still are complaining.
I thought people didn’t like D2 because it was bad and they wanted things to improve, obviously they are defiantly improving in this blogpost.
And it’s obvious that people are just hating for the hell of it now even though their wishes including mine are coming to life.
If you’re leaving D2 because of this specific blogpost. Take your hate and arrogance with it. You guys obviously can never be satisfied
I’m not gonna lie I was disappointed and complaining at first also, but this is a big step forward. Good shit Bungie, don’t ruin this positivity. I’m honestly impressed for the first time in a long time.
Edit- They did what we asked. Improved the game and brought things back from D1. Then people complain that it should’ve been in the game in the first place when everyone knows that.
That’s exactly why we complained for improvement in the first place and look they listened to us and now that it’s coming into the game people continue to be hateful. Just leave if you’re done.

Some people are just born to complain, nothing but unrealistic perfection will satisfy them.

Edited by Rev: 1/12/2018 10:24:37 PMDid you play D1? Edit: nevermi d judging by your gt or UN

I am only disappointed because I have to wait til Spring or Fall, when these changes should of came at launch.
-
I read the update and I’ll admit I still have zero faith that changes will be satisfactory, especially after CoO. But I’m not against picking up the game again if it’s actually fixed properly.
-
5 RepliesThe truth is it’s simply too late. A lot of people, myself included are just over and done with D2 now, unfortunately we just don’t care now.
-
6 RepliesI try to look through these forums for tangible info or funny satire but it seems that is all lost. Now it seems 90% of the posts or comments are people that do not play Destiny but come to the forums just to hate.
-
So what you’re saying is... the community creates a shitstorm over being tricked into buying an empty shell that may slowly get to an ok state, AGAIN, only this time it’s packed with actual scams to incentivize in-game purchases, and when the developer tries to blow over the situation by making it a bit more similar to the prequel it was supposed to surpass (but still with tons less content and most of it recycled), that’s a good thing? Ok.
-
1 ReplyBut the majority of the changes are things that were in D1 lol
-
I'm honestly happy about the changes they are making because I gave up on Destiny 2 a long time ago. However, it's going to be 8 more months before I might want to play again. It's simply too late. The sad truth is I'm already spending my time playing better games, and I don't see myself coming back after that long of a time. I still read the updates with the hope that they will change my mind, but this timeframe has made me lose hope.
-
2 RepliesSo it’s only okay to complain when YOU want to complain. Got it.
-
4 RepliesEdited by jokefacekillah3: 1/13/2018 1:33:18 AMI also love how this game, which is laughably easy now in PVE, just got even easier with the time limit removed from nightfalls. The last thing that actually felt challanging has been watered down.
-
1 ReplyAre you a D1 day one player? If so, you must realize it's deja Vu all over again! Except this time the revelation won't be ready by September.
-
I wouldn’t say they’ve given what people were asking for. They’ve said they’re going to be making some changes; changes that many have been hoping for for some time. But those changes haven’t happened yet. Bungie shouldn’t be lynched for this update, but they shouldn’t be congratulated either. Save the congratulations for when they follow through.
-
So many good changes where made to d1 and they were take away. Why? Seriously, I'm curious to what the thought prosess was here. We had to deal with so many issues in d1, some eventually got fixed, only to go through them again with d2? Not just that, good futures that were in vanilla d1 got taken away too. I though sequels were ment to build on its predecessor, not go backwards. It's not that the changes are bad, or not enough. It's having to through the same stuff we did with d1 all over again that is the problem. It's like they learned nothing.
-
Just saying what i did before in another thread. The reason they're doing this is because of the complaning, without nothing would have happend. I will stop the moment i think they realized what they did and are still doing atm. Until that they have to feel like everyone is sitting there ready to blow them into nirvana with complaints.

5 RepliesI love the game, No Nerf Man... without question. But you speak of changes. Where? I read promises. No changes. They PROPOSE changes. I've lost confidence in Bungie. I'm not angry or pissy about it... just too damned tired of the "We hear ya and we're on it" rhetoric. Did you ever play Never Winter Nights back in the early 2000? Massive game. Tons of stuff. Great until Blizzard botched it. Well, I wrote script. Dude... it ain't rocket surgery and it don't take no year-and-a-half to implement change. I know you know that and I appreciate your defense of Bungie. We had a problem one day with our loot chests. Massive complaints. It was patched as soon as the glitch was figured out... about two days. Have you ever sat thru the credits for the game? These developers aren't three guys in a garage with a Commodore 64 trying to write early binary code. If a developer is even slightly competent, much of the scripting is "canned" and easily altered. Shaders are a prime example. Easy to do because the basic scripting is there. My only complaint is vault size. Each guardian has five armor slots. Each planet has its own set of armor. Then the specialty armor from Tess (micropurchases don't bother me). Then the dawning... even without weps, vault space was gone a month ago if you like collecting what Bungie has sold us. And trolls... I bought every item dropped when I bought the game. Nothing is free. So vault space. They PROMISE 50 additional spaces soon. Why the phuck soon? There's no reasonable answer. The scripting is there. The ability to take one or two of the hundreds of folks on the game credits could do this. Surprise the community. Give us instant..."Hey, we messed up... here's 200 additional vault spaces til we figure out the storage issue" gratification. Fifty spaces is nothing. And if storage space is an issue, Bungie needs to get out of the business of having loot. Simply put, they have no clue and therefore shouldn't be offering things that you can't keep. I know I am not the only collector, but I can only truly collect gear for one guardian, that is if I leave space for all the ships, sparrows, shaders and mods I've paid for. I have been deleting things I know will end up as micropurchases in the future. That's a load of garbage. I defended Bungie during the whining about the mistakes in D1. I can't here. Too many of the same mistakes. Only two reasons cone to mind; first, they just don't care. It wouldn't be the first time a company shat on its consumer base. Or two, they still don't get it. Either way, shame on the management. This is a beautiful game. A buddy of mine and I will just grab sparrows and explore, not shooting a wep for what feels like hours. We just ride around, soaking in the art. But that's not the only reason i play. I just expected better, my friend. Peace.

The stupid is strong in this one.

People aren’t complaining about the changes... it’s the TIME. Seriously there’s no urgency here. The big and important things won’t be seen til fall and people are already on the brink as it is. If Bungie themselves didn’t say they had the ability to act and fix faster now maybe this wouldn’t be so bad. But people are SO tired of waiting at this point and the info in there wasn’t mind blowing. Good yes. Obviously needed... but, ultimately set for year 2 D2. No one wants to relive the D1 update experience again man... people do have a right to not be happy with Bungies timeframe
-
2 RepliesHonestly, there are a lot of positive changes coming, but those changes will likely come too late. That's why people keep pandering on about how it should have already been in the game. Because it should have been... Bungie is promising to bring their new game up to an old standard of an old game that they themselves set. Most of the real game changing updates won't come until very late this year or later. That seems to be an incredibly large gap in time, and it feels like their priorities for what changes come first aren't in the right place. We've already been in this position, and we're going through the same thing as in D1... It may be best for people to just stop playing and come back when they've actually fixed... no... not just fixed, but built upon. Because fixing it will just make it D1, and for it to be a true sequel it needs to improve and build upon the successes of the previous game. Not only that, but they failed to mention the most fundamental issue the game has that needs to be addressed... Loot. We are still getting the same guns and armor every day, all with static perks. Luke Smith said a long time ago they were looking into a way to make our 2nd and 10th Better Devils interesting. Well even with Masterworks, all my Better Devils are still the same. We need reasons to investigate our gear, we need more customize-able options. We need some form of RNG that drops with EVERY piece of gear, whether that be a random perk mod or something else. We need a reason to get excited for new things. All we do is get the same gear out of everything, we dismantle everything without a thought because nothing is interesting. People can hate on random weapon rolls all they want, but they made D1 that much more interesting, and every piece of gear had a reason to be looked at. I understand this community complains a lot, and even when things are changing for the better we still complain. But Bungie shouldn't be praised for doing what they should have done in the first place. I'm not going to pat them on the back for creating problems they already fixed in D1, only for them to need to fix it again just to get back to square one. It's an ongoing theme with Destiny, and I don't feel like waiting another 2 years just to have a game on par with it's predecessor.

1 ReplyEdited by Aurik Kal Durin: 1/12/2018 8:19:57 PMIKR? They're bringing back everything people wanted brought back from Destiny 1, and then some, not to mention fixing Eververse, adding new stuff like Masterwork Armor & Exotics, and overhauling the mod system. I call that a win. But this forum... Bungie is giving people exactly what they wanted what they've been asking for since launch (6v6, better endgame content, unique perks for Raid gear, ships, ghosts, and sparrows earnable in-game and not just through Eververse, Strike Scoring), and they say they're quitting the game anyway? Ingrates.

1 ReplyYeah this community sucks

Destiny 2 is in a good direction, but people will not stick months to something that should've been there in the first place. We expected Bungie to learn from D1 and knock this game out of the park, we stuck by them, but this game had a worse launch than D1. 80% Population drop in the first 6 weeks, hidden EXP systems, transparency and communication issues, just no. I love Destiny, we complain because we want to see it improve, that's why we attempt to give constructive yet as harsh as we can give feedback, we won't expect more from it than anything else. I can't wait for months to play a game that has an endgame. There's no questline, no missions, so many features missing that were in D1, no exotic grind (it's not very hard to get all the weapons and armor). We wanted immediate action, not a timeline of what to come next year. I'm not one for uninstalling and busting everything but it was just so vague, so many things weren't addressed its like they basically threw us a bone to distract us from the steak. I will be fully satisfied when I get the game that was advertised, rich of loot, with interesting questlines, campaigns that take actual effort to complete and not just 1-2 hours. interesting and multiple raids other than one main and repetitive one with lairs that take less than an hour to complete each expansion. Some of the people leaving, yes, exaggerations, but some make very valid points. I don't have a reason to start up Destiny any more, I've done all there is to it, I have all there was to offer and we wanted more. Just look at D1, we wanted Bungie to learn from that, can you say they did? We understood the failure of D1 yet we stuck with it because it was a new universe and it's fine to do mistakes with something new, but when you repeat the exact same thing without improving so many aspects to the point where it is taking 2 steps forward and 10 back? Just no.
-
Hey, they satisfied the PC gamers with the chat WE'VE been asking for for the last 3 years on console.
-
Actually I wouldn't say "they are giving us what we asked for". If life were really that easy... But seriously nothing has been developed and released and we can say "it works" or "it doesn't work". We know Masterworks is the alternative to perks but its limited release is a mix of so-so. Crucible and other stuff we have no idea how it'll turn out and we're fair to be skeptical because D2 was made in lieu of what was learned in D1 and that was a painful lesson for fans. But here's really the only point that matters: "Respect is not GIVEN it's EARNED" PERIOD~ If it was so easy to make an update note and say we'll be doing this and our respect should've been given on the spot, that's just (1) too easy and (2) doesn't hold Bungie accountable for anything! It's also probably now more of a necessity as, frankly put, we've allowed them to do D2 on their own creative terms and it really didn't live up to expectations. If they need pressure of this degree and magnitude to get messages across as to what may/may not work in the game then it's an absolute necessary evil apparently. It's a nuclear weapon, sure the US, China and Russia won't be launching them at each other anytime soon BUT it doesn't mean we scrap them anyways. That's how the so-called "play dissatisfaction" should be treated: we remained 100% quiet and gave D2 a fair chance for Bungie to release something on their terms and what we got was very lacking. So apparently, as if they weren't getting the message then, if they need thousands of so-called "trolls" at their forums spouting off, so be it. Fact is a good community manager and director knows from complaints where the problems are and which complaints have no value. If this is too much of a problem for them, maybe they should be honest and say they can't do this any longer or really make the message apparent and close off forums forever. Fact is as you can't have players 100% happy all the time with a game, you can't have developers 100% happy with the forums nor believe that their vision will be excepted 100% of the time by players. So it works both ways and the OP and many others seem to forget let alone ignore that.

Same shit happen with D1. Take features out and act like they are new. Get out of the loop dude.
-
All those „changes“ are nothing new. We literally have all of this in a game from 2014. It also has faster and more actionpacked superhero gameplay, far more fun weapons with insane loadout possibilities, far more subclass options, far more content that offers more than just public events, awesome raids, random rolls, strike specific loot, replayable and choosable missions and strikes, etc. It basically blows this lame and shallow game out of the water any day. If this is Bruce Banner, the other game is the incredible Hulk. You should try it out. It‘s called Destiny.
