My lad turns 6 today. I’m a very proud father and proud of the caring wee lad he has become.
Before anyone asks, he doesn’t play Destiny... obviously.. he’s 6 and I don’t feel any kind of gunplay is appropriate for a child of his age. He plays games like Minecraft, Sonic, Mario.
Anyway, he knows what I play as we talk about games a lot and he’s watched what I play. I asked him what games he wanted to play this afternoon and he told me he wasn’t sure. A moment of silence passed before he said; “why don’t you play Destiny much anymore?”
He’s 6, I’ve been playing Destiny since D1 Beta. It’s been a constant in his life for the majority of time he’s been alive. I didn’t know how to answer his question in a way he would understand so I simply said; Destiny is broken.
He was worried - he asked if his games would ever break and what I could do for “game-time” now.
Well that was simple - “The people that make Minecraft son, are constantly working very hard to keep your game interesting and solid.”
I appreciate that the games he plays are very different to Destiny but he understands the joy and benefits that come from getting involved with video games. He understands the sadness that follows a broken game.
As he blew out the candles on his cake and I asked him what he wished for he told me; “I wished for Destiny to be fixed for you”
It’s no secret that Destiny is broken in many ways. Eververse being one way, shaders, lack of endgame... I could go on but it’s all been covered.
I hope the come Jan 11th TWAB will start my sons wish becoming a reality.
Bungivision - I hope I can tell my son his wish came true.

Edited by Combat Mind: 1/8/2018 8:51:26 PMWhat a -blam!-ing sweet kid. Good job. Edit: Maybe not because of the wishing Destiny 2 to be fixed, but the fact of how caring he is that young.

Cool wish, but mark my words 'bungie will never fix d2 and it never will be like d1. It just goes more and more towards micritransactions and they only copypaste rush content due to too short deadlines. Man i miss d1 times.
