What should be a new element type
[spoiler]i feel like Cryo would be most likely just because the current Energies we have are based on the four universal forces. Void being Gravity, Arc Electromagnetism and Solar is Strong Nuclear Force. The only Force of the four not used is Weak Nuclear force which involves the decay of energy (in the most roughest of explanations) so I think Ice would make sense as the absolute decay of energy would lead to absolute zero. Plus it would make so much sense thematically if strong nuclear force is fire, hot and full of energy and weak nuclear force is Cold, icy and devoid of energy. But that's just my opinion. [/spoiler]

How about eldritch energy which seems to be the stuff the Hive use. It's green so it would be a completely different color and it would fit this decay and darkness like role that people want.

6 RepliesI would love to see cryo, but the most likely is decay. The existing elements are based on major forces of the universe: void-gravitation, arc-electromagnetism, solar-nuclear fusion. The next most logical option is decay, which would be based on radioactive decay.

Wet. Guardians with squirt guns. Taking wet damage causes slipping with a high chance for critical damage.

I think it would be Decay/some kind of poison element. It would have to be green. Essentially, it's has toxic/radioactive properties.

I think it'd be pretty cool gameplay and lore-wise to see how it'd be if some guardians pulled an Osiris and ventured to close to the Darkness in their adventures. Maybe have the now-awoken Traveler bless you a second time so that Darkness does not consume you. I have no clue how the abilities would function; I just think it would be pretty cool to see how Bungie pulls it off.

3 RepliesI would agree with you on the fourth energy needing to be related to a form of decay but it needs a personal attribute that is tied to it like Solar does burn damage, Arc does chain damage, and Void drains and suppresses. If it was Cyro it be a bit to similar to Void since it already causes slow and disorienting effects. I also don't think it should do burn damage like Solar so to make it have it's own effects I think it should cause confusion in your enemies.

1 ReplyI think it would be cool to make hybrid subclasses: Arc-Void, Solar-Arc, Void-Solar Or they could go with Ice and switch up Coldheart to deal Ice damage; would make more sense with the name.

For me, it would fit really well with the Veist weapons, maybe introduced with an Exotic. Kind of a poison type. The odd thing about it is, I don't know how it would work with the subclasses, or if there should be a fourth class as well. I don't think I like the cold idea as much, but I see where you were going. I admit, I didn't complete read your post at first.

Well with the cold heart giving the visual of freezing any add I think a cyro element would be nice As a side note it should have an special debuff which as long as you keep damaging with the cryo element the speed of whoever your shooting goes down
