Good. The government shouldn't have to pay for any cosmetic surgery such as this. I saw it on the news just now that these are the military's new official guidelines and not some tweet so no there is no source go look it up yourself lazy ass.

11 RepliesUnless you're in the military your opinion on the matter is pointless.

3 RepliesYet they will happily spend millions more on erectile dysfunction medication, because y'know that's totally what the military's there for.
-
1 Replyhaven't been told thats true yet. last i heard they will do it (the surgery/treatment) and treat a person like that gender once its uploaded in the database. source -annon military member

30 RepliesBecause paying much more money for erectile dysfunction medication is more important... People use the military to pay for everything. It's just discrimination Healthcare for trans vets costs approximately $5 - $8 million. Out of the $50 BILLION budget, that's just pocket change. That's 0.016% of the budget. It's closer to 0% than 1% The military has spent almost $300 million on erectile dysfunction medication just from 2011-2015 A border wall (that would not work) would cost almost half the while military budget A Defense Department study last year found the Pentagon could save $125 billion over five years just by making its operations more lean but officials try to bury the report so that there's no excuse to cut military funding The LA times found that security for the trump family cost at least $30 million in his first 100 days (compared to Obama's $12 million just for comparison) Let's also not forget how he's bankrupting the secret service with all his vacations I don't normally get caught up in politics on this app but saying that transgenders in the military is too costly, is just a blatantly ignorant excuse to discriminate another group. Respect your veterans. All of them. Unless you'd rather fight the good fight yourself
-
Good. If people want something bad enough, like a sex change, go out and earn the -blam!-ing money to pay for it themselves. These freaks expect handouts at every corner.

1 ReplyWe can debate over semantics -- whether the military is justified in paying for the transition of transgendered people -- but it doesn't stop there. Transgendered people have been prohibited from enlisting. There's the big problem. Because of who they are and because of the stigma that's associated with them (it's hilarious reading these posts and watching boys with frail, insecure masculinity come from everywhere to try to "talk" about the subject), they're not allowed to serve. It's likely that the bus doesn't stop there, either. How long until we get "Don't ask, don't tell" back? From the president who pledged to fight for the LGBT community? I bet it'll be pretty soon. The military shouldn't be forced to introduce and maintain such a controversial and polarizing group of people like the homosexuals, right? There's always PR rhetoric that glazes over the atrocity to present it to the public in a positive light. Unsurprisingly, lots of people slurp it up like Kool-Aid.

25 RepliesLet me post my response to another user because people on here are so ignorant.
Oh, yeah I'm the ignorant one. And yet there are people on here that still have no idea what a transgender person actually is or what they go through every day. There are people on here that don't understand the struggle that a transgender person goes through waking up every day in a body that they don't feel is theirs. There are people that don't understand that transgender healthcare takes up .00014% of the military budget. There are people that don't understand that transgenders have proudly served in the military with no reported problems from their superiors or about their ability to serve. And yet, these people feel the need to take away benefits from transgenders serving their country to protect bigots like you. These transgenders want to fight in the military to protect your ass. They're fighting in the military to protect your ass. And all you can do is complain about their lifestyle choices. Grow up. And here I thought the Right respected people that served in the military. Oh, wait. Only when people that served align with their beliefs.
6 RepliesThey could pay for noose tying classes instead of gender reassignment surgery.
Save them a lot of pain
-
3 RepliesI'm glad. Reassignment "therapy" does not decrease the suicide frequency among transexuals. Source: http://www.tandfonline.com/doi/full/10.1080/00918369.2011.534038?scroll=top&needAccess=true Suicide frequency among military members are already higher than the general population. Source: http://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S1047279714005250 Is it unreasonable to conclude transexuals may not be psychologically fit for military duty?

5 RepliesGood. I don't pay the military to change a boy's penis into a makeshift vagina. I pay the military to protect the home in which I live. It's already bad enough that drug-addled, lazy pieces of shit are taking some of my tax dollars in disability benefits. I don't need even more of my money being squandered.
-
4 RepliesI am a supporter of the LGBTQ+ group, but honestly, I am one hubdred percent fine with this. I was not aware that the army was paying for this. It doesnt really make sense to me that they should. If one is uncomfortable in their skin, they should deal with it. It isnt really a medical issue, so i do not see why the army should have to deal with it. Im a boy, but if i feel like I should be a girl, thats on me to do something about. Im not sick or mentally unwell, I just feel I should appear differently to reflect how I truely feel about myself. I dont think they army should be responsible for that.
-
I'm fine with that. Gender-reassignment surgery is long, difficult and requires ongoing mental health support to be successful. That is not a "readiness" issue, and the military doesn't need to be stepping into that kind of "mission creep".
-
4 RepliesThe USA. Where they'll moan about spending $8m a year on procedures for serving personnel, but don't bat an eye lid that their president has so far spent $30m of taxpayer money on golf and hotel resort visits.
-
6 RepliesThe milliary shouldn't be denying those volunteering their services requests like this. Who would you rather have fighting for your country; a bunch of draft dodgers forced to be there, or patriotic he/shes? If a man or women is willing to die for their country, and want gender reassignment surgery, i think its a fair price to pay. The military has spent billions more on frivolous and on less important things than that. I think they can afford it.
-
4 RepliesOff topic, but I know someone who got a boob job - which the military covered. I couldn't help myself but chuckle.
-
I don't mind them not paying for trans surgeries, but banning them is stupid. If someone is willing to die for their country than they should be able to serve.
-
2 RepliesNor should they. But I'm also not for shitting on anything and everything transgender like most of you conservative Bungie-circle jerkers. It's transparent when when people have prejudices or have a legitimate argument.
-
The only people who think they should are probably trans anyway.
-
10 RepliesI get not paying for surgery, but not enabling them to serve? It doesn't make sense to me. They can shoot a gun as good as anyone else, and can take a bullet as good as anyone else.
-
4 Replies
cosmetic surgery
I actually laughed out loud at this
-
1 ReplyThey wont pay by way of banning all together.
-
1 ReplyVhy nocht? Mein fuhrer zayz he loves ze boob jobz
-
16 RepliesWon't have to pay for any trans surgeries if you don't allow any trans people to serve in the military.
-
22 RepliesEdited by LiamCDM: 8/26/2017 2:38:10 PMThen the military shouldn't be paying for Viagra then. It's hypocritical to deny trans people the opportunity to serve their country because of "high costs," while spending far more of the budget on boner pills.

1 Replygood. and while we're at it, lets execute all muslims as well
