Ok I'll start with I'm happy there is a community of people who enjoyed the beta of D2. Truly, the feeling of hoping for an even better game then actually getting it must be amazing.
As far as me and my buddies consider it, Destiny is no more. How do i even being?
It's just so darn watered down. I respect everyone's opinions but i hate the game. Why are there two primaries? Why are secondaries now heavies? Df is 4v4? Nothing makes sense! There is even less customization then before??? I think of myself as a lover of both pvp and pve and there isn't any hope for neither one! I'm not saying its easy but if a company makes games and that's all they do how can they be so trash at doing THE ONLY THING THEY DO?? The game went from a thanks giving turkey to unsalted crackers. Even the hit factor is trash. If I'm not looking at the players life bar i can't even tell if I'm hitting them. What's the point of smg's? Their trash, nothing more nothing less. And people say it looks better? I'm sorry but i have to disagree. All these bright A$$ colors doesn't make it look any more realistic. It doesn't. I love how D1 had a grundgyness to it. Dark and dirty. But still looked good, the way D2 is looking I'm waiting for some D@MN rainbows and fairies to pop out at any moment.
.....sigh, not gonna make this to long, but tbh D1 is way better. In every way. Would've been happy if ya just made D2 a huge expansion to D1. Honestly.
Respect and love all my fellow guardians. Just needed to vent.

4 RepliesIt's fine to vent, but understand what Destiny 1 was at first, it was Bungie diving into some new territory when it came to how Destiny 1 was designed. They've had time to plot a new and hopefully a more mature weapon system for Destiny 2. There are some players clouded by nostalgia about how powerful those weapons were, but as time goes, video games are going to mature, that comes with a few pluses and minuses. ~TheGreatNike

i can understand and truthfully, im not fap'n to D2 either but.......... Why not really wait until you can put YOUR hands on the real release before just basing your judgement? Sure there is arguments.... Beta is old.. blah blah.. Beta is final release... blah blah.. stories and "people on the forums exclaiming this is the way it is" .. no offense... but i don't turst bunige or the conspiracy theorist screaming the shot kennedy... But... trust your OWN eyes man.... just friendly advice to wait and judge until the final product is in the hands of players.. not a beta.... not roumors not "reading between the lines" of what a bungie employee says..... Trust NO ONE Scully.

4 RepliesIt's all aimed toward children, Destiny is a game made for children. It started off a 'little' bit hard core with Material farming etc but it soon developed into an Arcade game, streamlined so that 8 years olds didn't have any complex skill trees to get their heads around or 'hard' content to beat. And then we get D2, even further dumbed down for younger audiences. 5 minute story missions, colourful, pahahaha characters (Cayde-6), Guided games, no RNG perks rolls, patrols with maps that literally tell you where everything is, Ohhhhh pretty spwace ship loading screens again, I'm sure another bunch of stupid 'pop cluture' dance Emotes and below standard challenging content etc etc etc I can't wait to see all the Youtubers upload videos of their 'worlds first' blah blah and daily 'INSANE LOOT OPENING' videos. Not to mention the abdundance for videos containing kids creaming their Paw patrol pants about getting an Exotic weapon to drop. And then after 5 months the Twitch 'carry' streamers will be out in full force, influencing the way Bungie baby sits the games development over the next 3 years, the forums will turn to salt and tears and Destiny 3 will be even further watered down, with even less options for mature gamers. they'll probably get a Kellogs variety pack promotion going pre D3 release. 'Buy Kellogs variety packs and get a free Tony the Tiger in game shader'. Destiny has become a bit of a joke, you either know it and admit it and still play because shooting Aliens is fun regardless of your hand being held or not or you don't know it because, well you just don't have the intellectual capacity to see it.

THE F ING GAME ISNT EVEN OUT YET

4 RepliesEdited by bFLY: 8/10/2017 8:52:01 AM"D1 is better. In every way." Wow, people form the silliest opinions lol.

Some people really cannot handle change.

2 RepliesYour spelling is as broken as D2 will be.
-
5 RepliesHow do you know D1 is better, did you get an advanced copy or something? Are you from the future?
-
I know how you feel, the beta was short and not so sweet, hope the game doesn't completely lose sight that it's supposed to be fun. Love pve in other games but here, I replayed old missions for the music lol or an occasional strike. Nothing else had matchmaking. Was on the side of pvp, Bungie weapon/game mechanics were awesome, found it fun and there was plenty of variety for a lone wolf. Objective games, mayhem chaos, or smaller teams and tons of maps. Will miss that, focus and online friends are of the essence now. Agree the graphics looked a lot like No Man Sky, maybe it was those particular locations? Old Russia was glorious, enjoy blue skies and subtleties, looking up at the skyboxes and feeling awed ;)

1 Replywow, the nostalgic threads have already started, and D2 isn't even out yet. these forums will be filled with "D1 was so much better" in a little over a month.
-
4 RepliesJust play Warframe bro, it's so intricate and customizable. I switched from destiny and just can't get over how well made it is

6 RepliesEdited by Alvin Guernsey: 8/8/2017 1:13:29 PMI think the biggest issue is people see Destiny 2 as a reboot of Destiny. Try to see it as a new game entirely. In other words forget about primary, special and heavy. They are not in Destiny 2. You now have kinetic, elemental and power weapons. The games are of course very similar, but to appreciate D2 you have to forget about things like special weapon and heavy weapons. Thats a Destiny 1 concept. You also need to understand that a beta is a test. That is all. What we saw in the beta isn't necessarily going to be how it looks on release. If I decide to keep my pre-order I'll give it a month or so to make my decision whether I like it or not. I've always enjoyed their dlcs, but after a few days and the adrenaline has worn off they've mostly ended up being disappointing.

Just needed to vent.
To reply i understand it's just the beta, but how much difference do you guys expect from the real thing. I'm still getting D2 for the benefit of doubt, but I'm also ready to still be disappointed. Literally everything about the game, at least from what i saw in the beta, is watered down. Everything. I'm almost sure not much is going to differ from the beta. And the simple fact that it's lacking a skill tree and rng tells me they went the lazy route. It's my opinion, maybe I'm wrong who knows. We'll soon find out. I can agree with everyone who says to not even consider this a sequel to destiny but just a whole new game. That seems fair. And to negative comments and people talking about grammar. I really don't care. I'm not here to be a part of destiny arguing or English class. Just giving my opinion while accepting others.

Edited by Kylo_Russ: 8/9/2017 4:14:21 PMI feel like this post should have been made on like sept 10th or something. The game hasn't even come out yet.

9 RepliesI think it looks better. The explosions and other space magic looks good. Even if it was just a beta. I'm sticking Destiny 2 out for the PVE side of things. 👍
-
1 ReplyI can understand the complaint of the 2 primary weapons but your point about less customization is baseless because we haven't seen it yet. As for it looking worse because of bright colours, did you never visit Venus? It had bright colours everywhere. The new destination planets are obscure moons and planets we've never been to, do you want them to look bland like the moon or Mars?? I know I don't.
-
14 RepliesYou know almost nothing about how things will work in D2. You participated in a very limited Beta test. It wasn't, and wasn't intended to be, a demo of the actual game play. Play or don't but I think you're cheating yourself if you make the decision with almost no information.

Nothing was more watered down than Destiny 1.

No sad stories allowed here.

Yes, Destiny 1 was better than the D2 Beta. That doesn't mean Destiny 1 is better than D2 the game.....a game none of us have played yet. The D2 Beta was like licking a cheeseburger without really tasting it. September 6th is when we get to take huge bites out of it, roll it around in our mouths over all of our tastebuds and then make an educated judgement of what we really think.
-
1 ReplySorry you feel that way. Maybe when me and the rest of the D2 day 1ers get our hands on it and let you see the game to its fullest you'll change your mind. Or not. Most of us can at least agree that Destiny was an experience to remember.

D1 is broken in good and bad ways. D2 is fixing what's broke with a little extra. I prefer where it's going, the only time I liked D1 really was Y1, missed Y2 but Y3 is meh.
