Okay so for arguments sake. There are so many people who have so much fun in privates. Because of the customization. The fact they can make set rules with friends without randoms butting in. Just because you dont enjoy them doesnt mean they arent an impprtant part. Its like a pvper saying pve is a waste of time. A pve exclusive player would say the same about pvp. I get you dont like them but fortunately yours is not the only view point and the fact you state it doesnt make it law. Thats how its coming across. Also i used it as a comparison. Because its a valid comparison. Compared to going into 6s or free for all with your friends you can make different rules and limit special or heavy speed up supers and abilities or really anything pvp wise this game has to offer. Your pov is not the only one.

Didn't say it was, but the lack of customization in private matches is a fact and there being barely any usefulness to them is also a fact.

You could just play normal crucible in destiny if you wanted that though. Without any customization like halo has for custom games private matches are just normal games.

Rumble works fine, but every enemy is the same so in the end it doesn't matter who you're killing. If you have more than 6 people then sure private matches. Back to the point, it's definitely not any detriment that they're building up the game before adding private matches to D2 and it's not a surprise since this information has been public for so long.

People enjoy playing against their friends though. A random would mess that only snipes up. You cant matchmake in a fireteam into rumble. I still fail to see the point youre making. Theres so many issues that custom games fixed. I personally get great enjoyment out of playing against friends. I know a lot of people who do as well. Which if all these people have fun doing it then it must be useful asf.

You can go into rumble with a fireteam? Unless they changed it with age of triumph

It was changed in year 2. Before privates came out. And even then only teams of 3 could do it. Youd still have 3 randoms buzzing around

you havent been able to go into rumble with a fireteam for along time-the last time you were able to was if you played the classic rumble playlist and the classic playlist was removed in march.

Oh classic free for all. That disappeared with age of triumph yeah. But how would you do team games against each other. Or have fun with mayhem. No matter what privates are important.

The story will have over 50 cutscenes and they're trimming crucible down to 5 gamemodes and 10 maps. Not to mention the new events that'll be added. They're making the game more serious for both spectrums pve and pvp, so it makes sense that they're adding the uneeded/less popular modes after people have played for a while and makes the game more polished. Hopefully this time when private matches come around they offer detailed customizations.

They were probably lame because it just didn't have enough. It's kind of sad that Bungie gives the community what they ask for but degrade it and then not include it at launch in the sequel. Seems like a giant middle finger to those wanting it in the first place.

Disagree, as I've stated before I'm expecting about the same from private matches so they won't have much use at launch anyway

I wouldn't mind going no private matches if there was rumble because I would like to match against my friends once in a while. But I guess it would be too late to add private matches as this point unless people start screaming for it again. Idk, private matches should be the least of our concern right now because what is important is Bungie to not screw up the raid, PvP, and the campaign.

As long as the gameplay is still smooth as we've seen from the strike in the beta then everything should be fine
