A majority of Americans don’t understand that Darth Tyranus is just another name for the renegade Jedi Count Dooku.
This finding, from a poll by Morning Consult, illustrates the extent of public confusion over the identity of the separatist leader the Republic hopes to defeat.
In the survey, 80 percent of respondents said either they thought Darth Tyranus and the Count Dooku were different people (50 percent) or didn’t know if they were the same or different (30 percent). This confusion was more pronounced among people 18 to 29 and those who live in the outer rim colonies — two groups that could be significantly affected by the separatist movement.
Among Nemoidans a higher percentage (72 percent) said they knew Tyranus and the Dooku were the same, which may reflect the race's longstanding hostility to the Republic.
When respondents were asked what would happen if Tyranus were defeated, even more people were stumped. Approximately 45 percent did not know that a Galactic Empire would be established. Twelve percent of Americans said the Republic would not be abolished, and 2 percent said they were The Senate.
Confusion about the Sith Lord has been persistent. Several years ago, the late-night host Jimmy Kimmel poked fun at people who thought Tyranus and Dooku were different, and similar examples spread on social media last month after the senate granted the Chancellor emergency powers. (Palpatine says his body may be disfigured but his will has never been stronger)

1 ReplyDid you ever hear the tragedy of Darth Plagueis the Wise? I thought not. It's not a story the Jedi would tell you. It's a Sith legend. Darth Plagueis was a Dark Lord of the Sith, so powerful and so wise he could use the Force to influence the midichlorians to create life... He had such a knowledge of the dark side that he could even keep the ones he cared about from dying. The dark side of the Force is a pathway to many abilities some consider to be unnatural. He became so powerful... the only thing he was afraid of was losing his power, which eventually, of course, he did. Unfortunately, he taught his apprentice everything he knew, then his apprentice killed him in his sleep. It's ironic he could save others from death, but not himself.

99% of star wars fans don't know that Yaddle and Yoda bumped uglies to create Dobby from the Harry Potter universe, and that's how he has force powers.
