Cozmo.....about your moderators.....
I think you need to sit down and have a very long talk with them.
Because right now they are like the stereotypical NFL Referee who either punishes the guy who hits back and lets the guy who started the fight get off scott-free.....or punishes the guy who retaliates the same as the guy who starts the fight.
...and if this continues, what you're going to wind up with is a forum of little more than trolls who basically do nothing but show up here everyday trying to sow chaos, badmouth the game and everyone who involved in it, and chase off the people you really wish to hear feedback from to Reddit and other places.
Its happening because your moderators either don't bother to read the full context of a situation, or don't consider the behavior of one poster in provoking another.
So you're regular posters find themselves at-risk of being suspended because someone's under-parented adolescent spent an entire thread provoking them.....nothing was done about it....until the person on the receiving end of the abuse either mutes them.....or finally gets angry.
...and the irony is that your reasonable posters can't even MUTE the person who is griefing them, and try to walk away from the conflict. Because if you use the mute function its a beacon for scrutiny from the mods...who will swoop in after-the-fact and punish you for a conflict that you're TRYING to walk away from and de-escalate.
Yet, if they don't use the mute function the trolls just keep spamming them posts. Or in some cases even escalating the conflict and sending crap to people on PSN and Xbox Live. Had that happen here last week. Ended up having to report someone to PSN, because I muted him here....and he took the opportunity to lash out at me over PSN.
So worst case scenario, the person who retaliates gets suspended, and no allowance is made for the provocation. Or at best, they both gets suspended.
But the troll just creates a new account and igets right back to sowing chaos. While the person who is here trying to help you improve your product is banned from posting, and left wondering why he's wasting his time trying to help you to improve your product.
Food for thought.
You have about three dozen hardcore trolls around here....and anyone who spends a fair amount of time knows who they are. If you wish to improve the tone of this place, and elevate the level of conversation. You really need to focus your efforts on them.
But how things are currently being handled , is going to backfire on you....and mainly serve to chase off the people you wish to keep around here....and facilitate the efforts of those who wish keep this place as their favorite spot to act out, and prevent any sort of constructive dialogue taking place here.

Mods don't ban anyone for muting. If you really don't like what someone has to say and don't want to interact with them mute them. If they are personally insulting you, report them.

8 RepliesKelly we've been debating usually on the opposite side of the discussions for 3+ years now. Please don't get me wrong but when this thread is created by you , i had a huge laugh. You always make things personal , you always try to insult other guardians and you always argue like a diehard fanatic. And yet you come here and claim that you've been treated unfairly . I never reported you Kelly however i left the discussions several times because it is impossible to make a civil debate with you. I've been on hot debates a lot on past 3 years and i only receive one warning because i call a user "Desticle" . It seems Desticle word is against the rules and now considered as insult. I am still speachless about this decision but i simply respect it. This is their board , this is their rules. You either respect it or simply leave. The most hostile user on the forum is complaining :) It was really a good laugh for the morning :D

Also the whole " but they started it" argument is preposterous on every conceivable level for somebody your age. Maybe you should examine your own behavior on these forums more closely instead of blaming other people because I've lost count of the amount of times I've seen you attack/insult people who have dared to post anything that even remotely criticizes Bungie or Destiny. So I don't think your really in any position to comment about other people preventing constructive dialogue on here. FYI... If anybody feels like reporting me for this post or any moderator thinks I've violated the CoC and decides to ban me? Go for it... I'll take it and I sure as shit won't create an alt account to come on here to whine about it... Because it will still be totally worth it.

73 RepliesWhile I disagree that Mods need to consider the context of CoC violations - a violation is a violation - I do agree that things need to change. I have long-argued that posting privileges in the Feedback subforum should be reserved for active players - those who have purchased the latest DLC and have played in the last two weeks. Also, gamertag and PSN IDs should be required to be [u]visible[/u] in Bnet. No more bullshit responses from "this account has not played Destiny."

Yet you can't blame the mods for doing their job. Have they made mistakes by wrongfully punishing people? Sure they have. Yet you could do better at not engaging people in verbal discussions that devolve into verbal insults.

On the subject, you also have hardcore fanboys who lash out at [b][u]anyone[/u][/b] who says something slightly negative (even if it's respectful and constructive). Anyone as in even day 1 fans who got a little disappointed or something and they still get attacked lol. But yes, I do agree that ninjas are lazy like actual bungie employees. But that's the majority of people if we're being honest. Most people would prefer to do the least amount of work possible, especially if they're not getting paid.

What is it? lack of conversation or an easy avoiding It's really frustating because my oldest main that got orphaned (because it had the google login: https://www.bungie.net/de/Profile/254/244898) and I cannot do anything specially clan/group forum

2 RepliesI made a long winded post a couple weeks to another member, and somewhere in there I used the word "idiots." Post got removed and I got banned for a week. 2 weeks ago I was called a derogatory name, reported post. 2 weeks later it's still there and the poster just keeps on shit posting. Plus, I've muted several folks recently and their posts still show up. WTF is the point of the mute button?

2 RepliesI've written hundreds of complains on this forum in the last three years and have never had problems with the moderators. And mostly i was very negative. (not that they ever helped me, what i hate the most) So if you get banned or something, then it's really your own fault.

Like, log in a couple times a month or something like that. Other than that, don't call anyone names, or threaten anyone, & you should be good. Been banned about 10x I think, proudly for telling snowflakes to -blam!- off in different words. Some bans I definitely deserved...

3 RepliesKelly, while you are intellegent and boast high levels of confidence and sentence structure, you are unfortunately too persistent with certain people. You mean well but, I have learned to be extremely careful to who I speak to what I choose to say [i]and[/i] how long I will persue to speak. Each post I make is carefully planned, and then executed. I have even taken the liberty of archiving all my posts that I wanted to say but refrained from actually posting. Mind you some of them are harmless, they just fell under 'too persistent'. Additionally, posts have become more and more seditious, enticing people to be offended. I want to be the example not the exception. Oh and I get it, we want to be a critic, fair and simple, I do, you do and hundreds more want to. The problem is there is too much contamination within words, speech, tone, and the overall behavior of the person you are engaging with. Even the the two sentences "I am correct" and "You are wrong" can have very different impacts. They can mean the same thing, but they are certainly not THE same. Afterall those different sentences exist for the purpose of manipulation. Look people will always look at you with a crosshair more than with a set of eyes. Some people think of me as a saint, someone thinks I am a white knight. Some think of me as openminded, others think I am indecisive. Some think I am free willed, others think I am a fool. However I never take it to heart and avoid attacking them personally. They could all be correct for all I know. I spend countless lunch hours at work, just studying the forums, like a lonely outcast on the rooftops, gazing upon the people down below, their patterns and reactions. I just rarely post on the forums these days, why take a test if you have not studied for it? Persistance is something that can ruin you if you go too far, right or wrong. Walk... there is always good in walking away.

I've been bant, and had my wrist slapped. It is just what it is. To me it's like getting pulled over for speeding when everyone else is also speeding that day. You can't help but feel singled out, but the reality is that it's just random bad luck. When ever I make a new post I get a instant 5 dislikes. And I've always wondered if it's the same five people, or is it a single person with 5 accounts? I guess I'll never know. Everyone has a opinion good or bad, and I think one of the best things about b.net is they can voice them here. There's a few users I don't always agree with, so when I see their post and I simply move on to the next one. (Unless I'm really bored) Personally I don't visit REDDIT because it's over moderated. You can't say a single bad thing about Destiny which is just pure fascist style censorship. It's also one of the contributing factors why this game is in such a poor state.
