Destiny was based on counters not balance. This was said over and over. Still we had non-stop posting requesting that people all be on a level playing field.
From what we see many things are now restricted (Builds, Stats, Weapons, Etc.).
This is what you called for guys. This is what you reported on streams and channels. This is what you said that guy you watch said.
You made words like OP because you couldn't counter it. Then it was "Unbalanced". I even heard the word "Meta".
If you used these words you should rejoice. You never defended the counter system and now you have balance. I posted right away when I saw D2 because I knew that karma had arrived. I didn't cry then and I won't now. Just play and be happy.

whatever, I've probably been killed by every type of weapon, and I've probably also killed someone with every type of weapon. You get outgunned, you get outgunned. Just the crybabies who can't understand that have been contributing to wrecking this game for 3 years. This will continue into D2. And Bungie will continue to "balance" the game.

24 RepliesEdited by Xenomorph: 7/10/2017 7:06:03 AMBungie, in D2 please bring back... Everything that was in D1 because anything new is not welcome around these here parts... Also, anything old or "re-skinned" is not welcome around these here parts either. In fact please somehow make everything exactly the same and familiar but new and exciting without straying too far away from what's familiar, but not too different either. Actually, scratch that. Please nerf stuff before we use it, but make sure everything is balanced before we use it, but not too balanced otherwise everyone will use the same weapons, which will mean you'll have to nerf them, but please FFS, stop nerfing stuff. God... I hate D2, worst game ever. Good Lord Edit: Ok. So it's come to my attention that reading comprehension has been abandoned. So for everyone taking this post seriously, I'm gonna evoke Captain Obvious here and add #Satire *Sigh*

Edited by Erijian: 7/12/2017 5:17:19 PMLevel playing fields are far superior to a counter pick system as it requires more skill to be efficient, rather than just picking y because it provides an advantage over x..

1 ReplyAt least all melee ranges are the same... No more T-rex Titan or No-Throwing-Knife Hunter 😁
-
Improvise adapt overcome people call them selfs good when all they do is moan yeah my kd is shit but at least I've never asked or cryed for nerfs, if you don't like getting killed go play my little ponys ya spoilt bitches
-
My favorite part is the part where people defend bungie even when they make a mistake.
-
Lmao I prefer even playing fields over counters. Countering is why I can't stand Overwatch. Level playing fields make skill the deciding factor, like in Halo. Skill and map knowledge. And let me tell you this, I LOVED Halo. I, for one, am looking forward to the new Crucible.

1 Reply2 ways to balance something... Bring underpowered things up to the level of everything else. Or remove the pivot point from the out of balance system and just put everything on the ground. For example... 2 brothers in school and one gets great grades and the other is failing. Do parents and teachers help the failing kid improve his grades? Or do they take books away from the smart one until grades balance? Both achieve balance. Improving something is far harder than subtracting from the better one.

Let's just hope they haven't nerfed FUN in the name of balance??? 😉
-
Its cute that u think we have balance.
-
1 ReplyYeah the minigun is gonna be first on the chopping block for d2
-
Actually a much better alternative to playing and being happy about a boring game is to not play it at all. Not a angle minute played since January and it's awesome. Charging up for a healthy 80/20 split between pve and pvp in D2 with a solemn vow to never raid with strangers again to boot.
-
2 RepliesI personally don't think Destiny was intended to be balanced. It was intended to be fun. Balance became a misused/misunderstood word. Then came "OP", code for game over. Fix some unintended designs that slipped through testing? Yes, of course. But that isn't what happened. Feels sad man.

1 ReplyThanks PvP cry babies for ruining the game...
-
1 ReplyIMO if one seeks "balance", jump on a tightrope. One will never find "balance" in a pvp type game. Players will complain about everything, but never accept being outplayed.

Edited by SnakePayne86: 7/11/2017 2:31:07 PMWhat you have is a small but vocal minority of hardcore pvp players who have a disproportionate influence on the direction of the game. I personally play a lot of pvp , but I've never whined about sticky nades , op guns, builds, etc. I find metas alternate and there always seem to be counter strategies if youre astute enough to figure them out. Or you can just die a lot which I have no problem with either because it's just a game.
-
Granted though it's not everyone else's fault bungie can't make their game work properly.
-
Meta should be removed from the list. The meta is merely what is most popular. D2 will have a meta, just like all games. Also I am PvE player so I can bitch, and rightfully so, about this so called balancing.

18 RepliesEdited by TheShadow: 7/9/2017 8:04:00 PMIMO I don't believe Destiny was ever really meant to be balanced when it was being created. I believe it was built with more of PvE in mind. Hits to why Bungie stated PvP was meant to be a causal event. It wasn't until gamers wanted more out of PvP that everything changed in this game. And thanks to streamers they helped that a long. Personally I feel PvP should of stayed as a causal event and Trials shouldn't have ever been added. But that's not what happened and now it plays its role when it comes to adjustments in this game. Normal PvP was being treated like Trials that to me is an overly competitive event that should of been separated from the rest of the game. But the biggest issue this game has and this isn't even a joke. The sandbox that literally nerfed everything in this game and refuse to look for other options. You know... Like actually playing your own game. Adjusting weapons to compete with one another. Taking small steps to see how things actually play out instead of going to the extreme. Not just relying on a chart that says what's use the most. Ask for advice from other companies that have little more experience in a game like this. Not nerfing hunter because a certain person Rage Quit a game. John "cough... Edit: Lying to your fanbase saying you nerfed shotguns and later admitting that you did lie about nurfing shotguns, and end up making a false chart. John "cough... All of this plays it's role besides it's fanbase. So if the devs are not willing to have an open mind and refuse to use other options which they have. How can anyone really expect any "balance" in a game like this?

The problem is that the best implemented design element of destiny is the primary gunplay, but the poorly implemented ability system is more powerful. PvP players love the way the game feels, but abilities are just too powerful, flat out. They should have a hardcore playlist with no supers/supers on kill streaks, no heavy, grenades melee charges until you respond AND the children is over. Then casuals and hardcore players would both be satisfied. I have no idea why Bungie are so afraid of a ranked playlist.
-
Sunbreaker nerf was necessary, for PvP. But pve 😢
-
I'm excited. Should be more fun.
-
I didn't, I called for fun.
-
3 RepliesDitto that! D2 is bringing in actual gun play. Pretty hyped for that tbh, I might have a shit ass K/D, but at least its not from ability spamming.
-
5 RepliesEdited by Rhapture: 7/10/2017 8:07:54 PMThere was only two justifiable nerfs in this game. The first Vex Mythoclast/Thorn nerfs (thorn actually needs a slight buff).

3 RepliesDestiny will never be "balanced". And that's okay. There's too many variables to try and make things balanced. If you want balance go play simpler games like CoD and BF and Overwatch. They can achieve a "balance" much easier because they have less to balance. Destiny was fine when it was released. Then ToO came out and all the basement dwellers with zero self esteem started to cry because they suck at the game and can't adapt. Cries for less or no heavy and special ammo started popping up everywhere. Limited weapons; No supers; Nerf this and that. Well, Bungie unfortunately listened to the pants wetters and we ended up getting all of the exotics nerfed to crap. Certain weapon perks, weapon re rolling, grenades, abilities and supers were also nerfed to crap. Anyone that's ever used the term 'meta", calls certain things OP or ever cried for a nerf is just a horrible player that can't adapt. What little self esteem they may have is based on their prowess in a video game ffs...and that's just pathetic. The rest of us will continue to adapt to these changes and kicking the cry babies' a$$e$.
