Here's what I don't understand about D2...
Everyone was complaining because it looks "too similar" to the first game. Now Bungie is revealing lots of info about different changes, and now the community is griping because it's too different! Make up your -blam!-ing minds!

Fans: "The grimoire sucks we want lore in game!" Bungie: "Ok no more grimoire" Fans: "Waaaaah we want grimoire!" Fans: "We're tired of big fire teams shredding us in the crucible!" Bungie: "ok here the fireteams aren't as big" Fans: "Waaaaah where are our big fireteams?" Seriously I hate this place

Less perks, weapon perk variety removed, PvP greatly lessened. There's some cool new stuff too, like lost sectors and dialogue options, but the core foundations of the gameplay have been cut down. That's what people have a problem with. A lot of it seems to be done for better PvP balance, but with increased funding people would probably just prefer they work harder on weapon balancing rather than giving themselves less to balance. If I'm entirely honest I think that many balancing complaints are just people venting their anger at a defeat anyway and they don't actually mind the balancing. The idea is that it's one step forward, two steps backward.

I'll take the same look with better and balanced game play over a different look with the garbage that we have now.

Also, anything old or "re-skinned" is not welcome around these here parts either. In fact please somehow make everything exactly the same and familiar but new and exciting without straying too far away from what's familiar, but not too different either. Actually, scratch that. Please nerf stuff before we use it, but make sure everything is balanced before we use it, but not too balanced otherwise everyone will use the same weapons, which will mean you'll have to nerf them, but please FFS, stop nerfing stuff. God... I hate D2, worst game ever.

Looks as the graphics look the same. It doesn't look better. But the changes they are making no one asked for. No one asked them to take away the random perks. We just asked them to adjust their garbage RNG system. So I don't do three things turn them all in a get back to back to back the same frickin' weapon or ghost.

There are game-breaking changes. Up until last week, in my view, all the changes proposed to the game were either the first two kinds of changes...and the few that were the third type were poised to make the game better. Which is why I kept saying , "Calm down and wait for the beta." But eliminating RNG from the loot system as was announced last week is potentially very NEGATIVE change of the third type, and potentially a game-breaking change of the fourth. To compound the problem, Smith gave NO ANSWERS to how Bungie intends to handle the very obvious ways that this will alter the pve side of the game, nor how they intend to handle the replayability problems this cretes in PVE. In fact he hinted that all this may not even be sorted out by launch. Sorry, but that is [i]unacceptable[/i]. We are looking at a game that is potentially deviating from being a genuine sequel to being a completely different TYPE of game and being launched with a broken gear system and loot system. Again..... Only to have Smith vomit this up last week then clam up about the thing we need to know about this. He either should have kept quiet about it, or been willing to discuss it fully. But he did neither and that's a huge problem.
