PSN Store Pre-Order big price difference

Hi fellow Guardians and people at Bungie! Does anyone here or at Bungie know why there is such a big price difference between the Digital Deluxe versions at different regions in the PSN Store? I'm in Europe, The Netherlands and the price that I would have to pay is €109,99, that comes to US $123,67. In the US PSN Store the exact same game costs US $99,99. The game is the same, both are Digital Deluxe versions of Destiny 2 in the Playstation Store, the game isn't translated to Dutch or anything... The only real difference is the price: $23,68 to be precise. Why? I've already asked this question to Sony and they have forwarded me to Activision because they don't make the price. At Activision it said "For everything about Destiny 2, go to Bungie". So here I am. If the game would cost "the same" let's say €99,99 vs $99,99, the question wouldn't even come to mind. Anyone? That can answer this for me? [spoiler]Moderator edit: This thread has been moved to the #Destiny forum. • When dealing with physical products? Taxes, tarrifs, shipping, exchange rates. Digital products? What the market will bear. People are wiling to pay similar prices for digital products as they are for physical ones.

Different regions use their own local currency, and those prices are set based on that. It may seem weird, but it's just how it is. The weird thing is in your example of €99,99 vs $99,99, that -shouldn't- be okay with you, as €99.99 is actually equivalent to about 113 USD, so you're actually paying more than $99.99. The reason the prices are as they are is simply because of the regular business model with how people deal with money and what people are okay paying. Just like you, you're more willing to pay €99.99 because it's closer to $99.99, even though your price should be €89.16 if it was based on the USD amount. Prices aren't based on a specific amount in general, they're simply based on your local currency and what prices for like products usually go for in that region along with any fees and processing has to be done for conversion of one currency to the one used by the company. It's not free to convert from Euros to USD and fees are imposed upon such things by the governing agencies for each respective region. So the short answer is... business models, consumer economics, and psychology.

        • Some people claim it's due to taxes or tariffs in different countries but the truth is simple. Why do they charge more in some countries? Because they can and people will still pay Sad but true
