How does everyone else feel about the trailers they've seen for this game so far? I was kinda expecting new races new gods new characters in the main storyline yet form what I've seen its all the same shit we fought before dealing with the same dudes we worked for in year 1. Also the subclasses aren't new, they're just reworked. I was hoping for more with different elements and new abilities that we've never seen before. Bored of shooting vex and sick of seeing Ikora's stupid bald head, just get a damn weave nigguh.
Edit; I know what the word sequel means c'mon guys leave it out. All I'm saying is that this is the 4th year the game will have been running for now and I don't think that a new race or new subclasses is too much to ask for. I'm not into the idea of re-inventing things I'm familiar with. I appreciate change. As for all the other little changes that have been made like the new raid finding thing (I'm slightly unfamiliar with this) and being able to move planets without going to orbit etc, these are things that should've been done at player request in a small update not put into it 3 years later and calling it part of a 'new' game. If they had called this a DLC and sold it for £25 as opposed to £50 or whatever it's going to be I wouldn't think twice about purchasing it but I don't feel like I'm being sold a new game. Albeit I do see what some of you are saying and it's still early days so I will take that into consideration. Even if I don't feel hopeful about it.

Sequel, a continuation of a story, not an all new story. So of course you are going to see some familiar faces. As far as the not going to orbit should have been done in earlier dlc, well that wasn't possible with destiny. As far as a new race, there could be a new race in destiny 2, they haven't said one way or the other. Many speculate that we will be introduced to the nine at some point in this game. I'd be surprised to see a new subclass however. I just don't see that one happening.

Post number 235325 on how D2 isn't new...
-
Hey man I just want more destiny to play lol
-
2 RepliesWow, sounds more like you want an entirely new game rather than a sequel.
-
What the hell were you expecting dude !! A brand new game ?? Key word destiny !!!!! It's not a new title bruh!
-
1 ReplyYou were watching too many speculation videos. Most of which were 100% wrong about those speculations. Next time wait for Bungie to tell you instead of letting YouTubers suck you in with their wild ass guess about what could be.
-
4 RepliesAt first I was thinking the same way, but than I was thinking...bungie isn't going to start from scratch. That'd be toooooooooooooooooo much work for them. Copy, paste, edit, and done.

1 ReplyI don't expect everything to be new, but I do expect some improvements. Sounds like the same old game with the addition of PC. I'm not happy about what I've heard about PVP or PVE. Weapons look more cookie cutter. Still plan on doing the free open beta and to see what the game is like. Also looking forward to E3, since that might give us something to look forward to.

5 RepliesI want to see people list specifics of other franchises that did not seem like "more of the same" in these "more of the same" posts".. That way people with iqs can have a legitimate conversation about said topic. Outside of improving the story, every sequel is always the same outside of a very few amount of games.

I was kinda expecting new races new gods new characters in the main storyline
I don't know why. Not only does having new races not make any contextual sense, unless you wanted a completely different universe, but having new gods? I don't actually know what that even means. As for the new characters, you can't possibly judge that based off of a trailer. We've seen 3 characters we know and we know nothing else beyond that. Wait for more information.
yet form what I've seen its all the same shit we fought before dealing with the same dudes we worked for in year 1.
We already talked about characters, let's discuss enemies. There's nothing wrong with reusing old enemies, nobody complains when a new Fallout game comes out with ghouls, deathclaws, radroaches, etc... The question is are the enemy types varied enough to matter, and that is something we will need to wait and see.
Also the subclasses aren't new, they're just reworked.
If you want to be technical, nothing is new. Again, just like before, what matters is if they vary enough from each other.
I was hoping for more with different elements and new abilities that we've never seen before.
Again, I don't know why. It would not make sense in a contextual sense at all. Your misplaced hopes don't define anything either.
Bored of shooting vex and sick of seeing Ikora's stupid bald head, just get a damn weave nigguh.
Well now you just sound like a child.

I'm not going to say that I didn't feel a little of the same as what you're describing. But it was only just a little and only lasted for about a minute. I realized that Destiny 1 was the set up for a Universe, and that universe needs continuity. One of the only reasons we may feel strange about this is because of the lack of content in D1. There are many reasons for that. I think Bungie have gotten on track and are in a great position to give us enough to do and keep the game thriving with D2. Something that was either inscribed somewhere, or was said by some one once was, "We will travel beyond the reef Guardians. But we will be ready." Or something to that effect. This translates into "We want to give you everything you want, but we want it to be quality." This was actually said by Deej prior to Rise of Iron. I imagine with the release of D2 we will travel beyond the reef and eventually get further out with subsequent releases. Perhaps we will see a new race. Perhaps a new system. Not a whole one, because obviously the focus here is human survival. Anyway, that's it. My thoughts. :)

3 RepliesDon't know why there would be new races or enemies when D1 barley told a story about the ones that already exist. Just saying. Subclasses? Smeh... Not crazy about the new ones yet. Would have been happy with the 3 existing now. Have to wait and see.
-
1 ReplyYou don't even know all what is in D2 yet...

4 Replies🤷♂️ if ya don't like wha they're selling ya don't have to buy. Numerous other game franchises do the same crap when they release a sequel, people still seem to gobble it up. Destiny has had such a weird three years. People love the game and they stick with it. People hate the game and they keep playing and they keep complaining about it. I don't recall anywhere in the fine print these last three years that states they're required to create new enemies, new subclasses, new worlds, new gods. What I did see was a pretty good reveal and when they release their closed beta and open beta we'll all be able to play it and make a decision for ourselves rather than continue to cut down what we have seen based on a trailer. If what you saw or didn't see in the reveal has turned you off from this game then that's your decision. No one is going to force you to buy it.

3 RepliesI like how everyone complains when destinys sequel is similar but when any other videogame sequel is similar no one complains about it... it's almost like people just complain destiny just because they have nothing better to do...
-
3 RepliesIt's almost like it's a sequel or something...
-
6 RepliesI realy don't understand peoples reaction to the game looking similar.. did you want Destiny 2 to be a racing game? I mean, if it didn't have similar enemies, a new hud and different worlds and new powers and weapons.. aren't you saying you want a different game all together?
-
1 ReplyHey you leave my Ikora out of it
-
4 RepliesHalo 1, 2 and 3 had all the same enemies dear, call of duty and battlefield has the same enemies with just a different name. Its how games work, it's a universe you don't just rewrite everything for the sake of it

3 RepliesAt first I was assuming that we would have different super abilities. We mostly stayed on fire, void, and lightning for 3 years. I was just wishing we could have something like Earth, wind , water or even ice. I always want to see a Titan with Earth abilities " ground pounding " everyone around him. With animation that shows like a depression is being created on the ground. Or a Warlock than has ice abilities that instead having a Nova bomb would " Ice bomb" and everyone freezes. It could also used as a shield. A hunter that throw water spikes for a change. They could still use the same animation for those. Just different elements.
-
1 ReplyIt was exactly what I was expecting. You shouldn't write off things like new elements or anything like that because all we've seen is a gameplay trailer and the game is still 3 months away.
-
12 RepliesSo you want a sequel that's an entirely new game, placed in a new universe, with new abilities, new characters and new lore? I'd buy a different game then.
