In a world dominated by palindromes and eyaslunas, ice breakers and no lands, and anything that prides itself on being one of the easiest weapons to use, this is to the guardians that use weapons that are just about as laughable to guardians as pepper spray is to a wind blowing your direction and still getting on top.
With the most recent nerfs to general hand cannon range, the last word drops off before it gets out of melee range yet it can still be used sufficiently. The khvostov was thought to be a joke weapon with a bunch of perks, but it can be used just like the dreaded Doctrine of Passing, and even then, to use it at 450 rpm and slay is a massive accomplishment. To the chaperones, to something as silly as hereafter or patience and time, or as formerly intimidating as thorn. To the necrochasms, to the mythoclasts, to the fusions that shouldn't work, to the parthian shots, to the badger CCLs, to all of those weapons and many more that seem to fall flat on their faces, these guardians take them and use them into something beyond where they should be.
It's not a matter of the weapon, it's a matter of the wielder. These guardians are the legends that can turn heads because they use a weapon that should never show its head in the crucible. Godspeed, you
Edit: Holy crap, this thing has been around for almost 2 days and I've gotten so much out of it. Even Lost Sols (who I was told was a popular forum-goer) commented on this. I love hearing not only the comments on which guns you use even when I haven't heard of them, but the discussion of what's considered good or bad in the crucible. This is awesome! Thank you all!

I use Bitter Edge Sniper because it is smooth and I use Cryptic Dragon.
Most of the time when I'm not titled
3 RepliesHarrowed midha's reckoning ftw

Haven't run into any of those

3 RepliesI have a badly rolled DealBreaker that after a couple of sherbets I can't put down. Gunslingers Trance helps a bit but I like wrestling with it's awful stability and recoil! The sound is like a Stradivarius mated with some kind of road construction machinery - gorgeous!

I ADORE my Branded Lord/Inward Lamp combination! My Titan prefers a Haakon's Hatchet with a Comedian at its side. Warlock is only lvl 28, so it favors OG over soul edict with a sprinkle of OG plan c.

Does Praedyth's Revenge count?

I love using my year 1 Zombie Apoc. WF47 in the crucible, and the Unbent Tree, I don't know if anyone uses the Unbent Tree, but I use it with pride.
-
6 RepliesI do love my Lingering Song and Extremophile. I've also always had a soft spot for the KF weapons due to how they look and sound.

1 ReplyRighteous VII and hakkons hatchet. Both are deadly.
-
2 RepliesThe only gun that I truly believe to be too bad to use in PvP is the Exotic Khvostov set to 900RPM in Semi-Auto, that configuration is unbelievably awful.
-
I only use meta in trials. But don't play a whole lot during the week. You will see me using a fusion though, maybe a vex or necro, maybe my cocytus, thorn, parthian, blind paridition, or many other guns. unbent tree is nasty.

Edited by Algus-7: 5/17/2017 8:49:06 PMI've still got my first curse at my side. Anyone else doing the headshot, melee combo?

long far gone with rangefinder braced frame and last resort. Love my baby child. It's on my alt account as I haven't bothered to sign in here.

5 RepliesWhy is it in PVE that you get cursed if you DON"T use the game's best weapons. While in PVP you get cursed if you DO use the game's best weapons. Makes no sense.
-
I could careless what weapons other people use. If they're good at sniping, it doesn't matter if they use icebreaker or any other sniper, you're still gonna get sniped. If they are a better player, they will beat you more times than not using any weapon.

2 RepliesEdited by mus: 5/17/2017 4:11:03 AMHawkmoon and sniper on gunslinger in a meta dominated by sidearms and spam abilities. Sometimes use Parthian shot, mida. I also have this beast of a fusion rifle called each new day, few weeks back he sold it with counterbalance and Icarus. To the people who think they're cool for using bad weapons: you're not. I don't know where this whole Derpy goofy loadouts mindset came from that you're a better player for using telesto and a green autorifle. WOW YOURE SO COOL. Guess what I like guns that aren't shit.

4 RepliesI'll applaud anyone who can do good using red death...it just feels off to use...and not in an auto rifle sort of way...it just does Also I use almost exclusively autos and handcannons, screw scouts and pulses :D
-
As Shaxx would say, "Skill is it's own weapon..." Use what you like because you like it, not because it's considered the best. Its a game, win or lose, just have fun.

1 ReplyThis weeks angels advocate...

2 RepliesPaired The Wail with Black Spindle and because it was clash almost every match felt terrible but I went positive in most, if only my team would stop switching spawns. I'm also surprised I don't see more people using Nova Mortis/Thunderlord/Abbadon. All three are really good and I use Nova when I don't have another exotic equipped and I've died to maybe 1 of any of the 3 in the last 2 weeks.

1 ReplyBecause standing on a rock in frontier using parthian shot makes you mvp

8 RepliesSuper pox VLO was great and the description was Found in a null-g hangar, drifting alongside fourteen limbless and decapitated Fallen corpses. After I accidentally deleted it I found a new gun running strikes. Hope Springs Eternal is the description of the Evergreen II.I is the single most greatest pulse rifle ever. High impact pulses have been my baby. Hopscotch, 3 Little Words and Evergreen pushed me through the Thorn and Last Word days after I deleted my Super Pox VLO. Lyudmila had a minute until the nerf lol. I looked at planet destiny and discovered the Parthian shot and on day one bought it and it is still my pulse rifle. If you shoot me with it in crucible I will take it personal and equip mine then come after you lol.

6 RepliesEveryone is sleeping on Fabian Strategy. It's criminal how good this gun is.

Still using my Y2 hawksaw here and absolutely love it

Rockin a Khvostov (394) with my Warlock..
