Destiny 2 Needs More Focus On QUALITY PvE Content

Please bump if you agree with what is said below. This is a serious problem that needs to be addressed. ------------------------------------------------- One of the biggest problems with Destiny from day 1 has been the lack of story and in game lore, and that's still the case. So why is Bungie focusing so much on all of the PvP feedback and not really doing much in PvE. Yeah, they're fixed some PvE problems, and that's great, but this game has become much too focused on PvP. Destiny was not meant to be a mainly PvP game, and sadly that's what's happened. If we truly want Destiny 2 to be an improvement, the focus must be on PvE. The original idea of Destiny, the one that built massive hype and won over E3 when it debuted was a game full of exploring, fighting mysterious enemies of the darkness and saving humanity, not an idea of a broken sandbox full of sweaties taking money from less skilled players just to win some PvP matches to get rare gear. That's not what this game was meant to be, nor what it should be. The potential is still there. Destiny could be a game changer, a standard of excellence that other developers would strive to achieve. It could be great. But none of it happens unless attention is taken away from PvP, not completely, but taken away and put towards a great story, mind blowing lore, and an amazing PvE experience that's worth coming back to again and again. Side note: If PvE and PvP tuning was done separately, I believe PvE players would feel less neglected. EDIT: Thank you for all of the support, this is amazing. I hope it's enough to get recognized by Bungie so they realize what the community really wants.

  • I'm somebody who generally prefers pve over PvP, which is why I fell in love from the beta. Since then, as far as I can recall, the largest part of any patch is changing/fixing things for PvP. Pve gets no love outside the occasional money grab dlc from activision that's generally mediocre at best.

  • Simple fix on content standpoint this game needs to go back to y1. In y1 we were not starved for content with a dlc dropping every 2-3 months, ib every month and throw in doubles in feb, fotl in oct and srl in December we wouldn't have room to complain on lack of content

      Make the lore accessible in-game rather than view the grimoire cards on the net or the app. Improve the "lottery" RNG rewards for those who plays well & legitimately and who puts in a lot of effort in their gameplay. Do not give any rewards to those who are AFK. Enable [b][i]OPTIONAL MATCHMAKING[/i][/b] for the majority of PvE activities or improve in-game LFG (the new clan roster is a nice addition).

    • What I think would be fun is if they had a more dynamic PvE. Imagine if AI was more unpredictable and you're in a raid or strike. Thought that knight was coming from the left? Check your six! Watch out for those land mines. Nope, nothing there, now an enemy just ran out with explosives strapped to him. Even in patrol if enemies just had more variety to their actions, that'd be a fun challenge I think. NPCs on patrol would be great. Think of the gameplay that would open up.

    • The game lacks serious emotion. There's no loss, no love, nothing whatsoever to make you care about any of the characters. Our guardian has been silent for two years, it's about time they found their voice.

        They should learn a bit from the developers of Skyrim Elder Scroll V. You can't get more open world and story detailed than that. And that was like 5 almost 6 years ago and people still enjoy it to this day. It has a story, lore, never ending amount of side quests and mini quests, diverse weapons and abilities, interactive characters that actually call you out for doing something a bit too stupid (like throwing your weapons on the floor and leaving it there, shouting too much, if a friend died, etc) Imagine if Bungie implemented those pve qualities in their game but also expand in it a little and still keep their pvp. That would be the best game, I don't know if it's asking for too much but a man can dream

        • they should have at least 5 stories going on at once , then have the story for the current raid situation. with a variety of areas to explore for the stories

          PvP is the only thing keeping Destiny alive, and Bungie knows that. The majority of players that still play this game are here for pvp. How long can you shoot the same computerized enemies, that come out of the same doors, at the same time, and have fun? You cant. PvP IMO is just a better overall experience, and keeps you on your toes. No two gunfights are alike. And the high time to kill, and sci fi experience makes Destiny's pvp way better than any ol' CoD game IMO. Pve just takes way more time, and money to create than pvp does. In pvp the players do all the fighting, not computerized bots.

            Or simply separate pvp from pve, if i want buy game for pvp content i will choose different games i love destyni for raids patrols and stuff like this. Tbh everything is to easily obtained in the game this days

          • I agree. PvP had been the focus because, due to bad last minute changes before release, that's all that they have time to make material to keep fresh. The next game needs to bring the story to the forefront or, with a heavy heart, I won't be able to keep supporting this franchise. I see what this game was meant to be so, Bungie, make it happen.

          • I was a Day 1 player, but quit when RoI came out. It's just a grind now, to get the high light level. I miss the old days where when you got the raid gear that's all you had to do. I never complained about that. Now it's just hours and hours of grinding.

              • There is lore, very good lore in the game. However in NEEDS TO BE IMPLEMENTED TO THE GAME, NOT LOCKED AWAY IN "GRIMOIRIE" CARDS ON THE BUNGIE WEBSITE!! Jesus Christ who thought that was a good idea anyways? At the very least make short cutscenes accessible in game kinda like Halo: The Master Chief Collection and have the ability to access the ones you have unlocked in the menu. Hopefully, Destiny 2 will have a more interesting story, because as of right now, I rather play the game that takes place in the grimoirie cards.

                  • I absolutely agree, but half their player base keeps coming back for trials, including myself most of the time.
