Shit! Fudge me!
Okay.. So. There was a cup of water left on my desk. I wanted to pick it up, but accidentally fricking dropped it. GAH!!
So.. A few droplets of water came through the vent gap on top of the tower. I turned the PC off immediately after I spilled the water btw.
The motherboard is hanging on the side, and I didn't see any water on there. I only saw a few small droplets on the top fan, and wiped them off.
Directly below the fan however is the heatsink. You know, that block thing. I noticed a few incredibly small droplets between the plates. Like, a millimeter big. I ripped a small piece of paper towl to slip between these plates a bit to get rid of these drops.
So I did, and other than that I haven't come across any droplets inside the pc. Most of it was just around the pc and all over the desk and floor.
Still.. I read online that you need to dry your pc for at least 3 days.
My father didn't want to wait that long. So he will use the pc tomorrow.
All I can hope is that it goes well and there's been no permanent damage.
But I am still afraid.
What do you guys think?

1 ReplyI spilled a huge cup of water on my laptop, and after letting it dry out for a week or so, it worked fine.

1 ReplyI spilled pineapple juice on a laptop. If you put it in a box of rice the rice can suck up most of the moisture. Unfortunately some rice will then end up in the computer, but it worked ok for me. But, I'm not liable if it all fails.
