Why does #gaming hate overwatch?
That games so polished you can blind yourself if you shine light at it.

Ok some of your responses are the art styles cartoony, "it's just sucks?", Lack of gamemodes, and no individual character customization. Aswell as no single player

I think the cartoon art style is mainly because they want this game to last so they can't have a high detailed art style that'll look bad in a few years. For example windwaker still looks beautiful to this day thanks to its cartoon art style.
[b]Gamemodes[/b]
While yes there are a lack of gamemodes which they are fixing they've added 4 different gamemodes. With one being a playlist of like 8 gamesmodes.
[b] Individual customization [/b]
While I don't exactly understand this one. I think it refer to not being able to customize each characters guns and abilities which this game is not made for. If they're talking about cosmetic changes there tons for each character. Along with being able to add gold skins.

While you're entitled to your own opinion, don't expect anyone to take it seriously if you just type that.

Fair point, that I can agree with. But personally I'd take a very polished pvp then a forced campaign.

WoWs graphics suck compared to overwatch's and tons of people still play that. Also they probably hate Overwatch because it's popular. I remember when the popular thing to do was hate on Battleborn. Which I think has way more cartoony graphics.

1 ReplyI really don't think strictly FPS games should win GOTY though, games with actual story and a real sense of progression should be needed. The fact that Witcher 3 got GOTY last year and Overwatch this year shows that the gaming community is going downhill. FAST.

5 RepliesI put it down to lack of skill, we've lots of gamers in here who only play single player games. They don't get that competitive adrenaline rush, don't understand how great Overwatch, PvP focused games can be with the correct skill set.

It's fun, but I wouldn't put down 60 bucks for it. I like multiplayer games at times, but Im more if a single player person. Plus, Overwatch would benefit from a Battlefield 1 style campaign where you could focus on individual character stories instead of a broad overarching narrative. It would take a long time, but it would be worth it in the end.

That's my only reason for not liking it. And I don't hate it, it takes a lot for me to hate a game, it's just not my kind of game. And a side note for everyone, overrated does not mean bad.

It's usually the little niggles that put me off playing games. With Overwatch it was the stupid respawn point. I hated having to run across half the map just to get back into the fight. If you die a lot during a game, most of you time is spent running back into position.

Because it won game of the year, and it's competative team based online arena shooter isnt for everyone. That's why I think people hate it. Especially given the great shooters we got here at the end of the year.
