Well bungie, this is it. The game is stale, even playing casually its already dry. "Oh god, Another one of these posts, just go kys scrub! We don't need ya!" Actually, bungie does need me, you see, losing one causes a chain that loses more and more people, I'm just one of many who have already quit, again... And the more they lose, the worse the status of this beta gets.
Now that we have that out of the way, let me start the reason this post was made, there will be nothing... NOTHING to play, iron banner is another rehash, trials is literally a lag fest that isn't worth it anymore, the challenge modes only come in 2s... and give you just... lol.. a token to make your armor look as it was portrait on the trailers (False advertisement ftw! Remember the days of iron gear? Well! You get it...) The festival of the cost was a complete waste of resources, time, and potential to hide its primary focus of wringing out more cash out of the eververse whales who decided to want all that was shown considering you only gave us 3 shots to get ANYTHING out of the festival... And even with SRL it concerns me deeply it'll be another cash grab...
With that aside, "Cya next year" Yes, I am not truly leaving, but may never really come back... Destiny II has been confirmed and is set for a next year release date, and will I come back? We'll see, we will see. We will all see, there were rumors that activision has lent bungie 2 studios to help with the making of destiny II and yeah it was confirmed, look it up, I really am not in the mood to look up stuff you could do yourself, that sounds promising... but... lets face it, they had...4 years? To work on destiny as a core game and look how that turned out, they have 2 years this time... Do the math there.
Right now we don't know whats coming and yeah, i could've just prebashed but hey... I'll take the word over a screen shot and a mini clip showing the "Test Builds" of "Deimos" and "Europa" There could be more, but oh wait...according to people..its fake! Everything bungie could possibly show promise with is either failure at a severe angle and why? Lets head on over to the second part of the title...
Preordering... 3 words guys, "DONT DO IT!" Dont preorder the game! Destiny had over a million preorders one year prior to release... and did you see where it went to? A 3 year long beta with paid DLC that was literally just stuff in the game that they unlocked with the access purchases... taken king felt like an actual DLC... but that was it.
Guys preordering kills a lot... and I do mean.. a lot of potential in games, all due to creators seeing they have sold 500k-1mil copies before they even print the discs...so they can take as much out of the game as they want, recently I played and refunded "Recore" a similar scenario... They cut out content, had no story and basically had 100k copies preordered before the discs were printed... and thanks to the director of FF15 he described the process of them printing the discs takes 2 months...
So heres what i propose...please guys, for the fate of destiny II please... Don't preorder until atleast 2 weeks before the release... if you want to show activision and bungie what it means to finish and not cut out things for later packaging? Please.. Don't preorder until 2 weeks before, let them print the discs with their intents and not give them time to be greedy and just keep repeating the history of the game... And even though activision is giving them further studios to help them due to CoD losing its allure to people it doesn't mean that what they promise will come to truth.
So will I come back? 2 weeks, after the release, after I see what the result is, what the finished product is and if their main focus is DLC and crucible focus... then you won't see me again.
Alright....now, lets see who read and who didn't...
Edit: I'm sorry I couldn't save most of you, by the looks of this post, we'll have another 3 year long beta. All in all, if we do, I can say thank you for saving me the 60 bucks.
Edit 2: Btw, Idk what this TL:DR thing is... maybe its a way to avoid you reading the important parts. Guess I should've cranked up the bright eyes to give my personal flavor to your ignorant riddled comments... If you don't wanna read, comment and sign off, you only further the problem that this game presented 2 years ago... To you all calling my comment about activision facing problems with investors and forcing a studio to help bungie with destiny II, Heres the link. http://www.fool.com/investing/general/2014/10/09/3-big-problems-facing-activision-blizzard.aspx And to those wondering about my argument with the preodering? http://kotaku.com/stop-preordering-video-games-1713802537 And to any further issues with you finding liable info from multiple sources, please go to youtube and look up boogie2988 and look for his rant on preordering games. Teach yourselves, I do not have the power to hold your hands like your mother does. I literally had to open another tab, and look these 2 links up over the course of 20 seconds... As for me though, I will make a similar post somewhere down the line, maybe 5 months when they make the first teaser trailer, warning you all one last time. And if you all don't listen to the facts... I will never return, and so will the numerous others that are on the same boat as me...

You seem to have a bad case of Destinyanusalus. There is no cure for Destinyanusalus, but with the right team you can fight through your defences, take the beast out and break your grip on Freehold. For what we can gather, you will not survive it. Unless you travel to Uranus and stop the darkness from unravelling your inner-cubicle..

I burst out laughing at your pathetic chain metaphors. Get over yourself kid, you don't seem to understand how chains work of you think one loop breaking means anything to the whole. Yes the game will see stale periods, every game does. All these posts get annoying, you act like you're some messiah spreading a new truth to revolutionize everyone's thinking and the way the game is handled. Its truly pathetic.

Where's the tldr?

11 RepliesWhile you have some good and valid points such as it's easier to slack as a developer if you have a ton of early pre-orders at the end of the day this is still you just saying I'm done with this game for now. Personally I don't know you but it comes across as attention seeking, if you want to go play something else you should just go ahead and do that. Go enjoy other games and quit whining about Destiny, I'm about to get a full set of wrath of the machine armor with artifacts (yes just how they showed it and no we should not have simply been given the armor where's the fun in that) after that I will probably take it easy on destiny but will still play weekly for sure. Don't let the door hit you on the way out dude......

If you want to leave that's fine, if you're bored you shouldn't stay. But you leaving starts no chain? You're a metal loop on this chain you speak of if anything, but see that chain starts and ends whenever anything new comes out like the return of SRL, sure some of the chain will break from whatever reason and not make a return but most of it will be fine and reusable.

Edited by EARWAK3R: 11/7/2016 10:18:43 PMWhy is it whenever these idiots who've absolutely milked the game dry get bored with the game, they all automatically assume that the rest of us have stopped having fun too? They come rushing onto the forums like they've had some mind blowing epiphany that absolutely must apply to all of us, and that they are just itching to share. "Guys im stopping playing destiny now, so heres a gigantic wall of text full of petty reasons why i think you should quit too" erm...okay but ever hear of just playing something else? It's ok to take a break and go play something else without letting us all know....every...single...time! "But guys (insert generic insult involving a play on the word 'bungie' ) are totally decieving us. Its only taken me 2 years and 2000 hours to realise im actually bored of the content, and now its time to tell you how bored i am" erm yeh....just fk off and leave us in peace TLDR. Nobody cares about wether you stay go, pre order or not. Nobody..absolutely nobody gives a fk. Play how you want. Buy what you like.

I'm commenting just to let you know I didn't read your post.

1 ReplyI didn't read it, but I thought I'd comment anyway

I agree completely. I'm still playing destiny, but at this point it's because I have so much time in it I don't really feel like starting over from scratch in a new game. I might go back and play the witcher 3 again and also mass effect 1-3 is backward compatible as of today. As far as preordering goes, never again. For any game. I've been burned too many times. Never mind what it does to the games quality, I just can't stomach spending money on any more of these games without seeing the finished product in action. I've dodged battlefront, battlefield 1 and infinite warfare this way so, so far so good.

Tldr;

Oh hell no I'm not pre-ordering Destiny 2. Definitely gonna wait and see how it is before I invest.

Edited by Erijian: 11/7/2016 9:51:14 PM
bungie does need me
Oh God, just stop you little snowflake.
you see, losing one causes a chain
...Trust me, you quitting isn't going to cause a massive chain reaction. It might cause your friends to quit, and maybe their friends to as well, but it's not going to be an impactful number in the long run. New players will replace your circle that quit rather quickly. You're a nobody, not a face of the community.
Hell, I wasn't even planning on pre-ordering in the first place. It's just that the beginning of your post is so conceited that it completely made me lose interest in reading the rest. It's like a book that starts off terrible, or a movie that makes you fall asleep in the beginning..Who cares if the other half is good at that point.
3 Repliestoo bad people ain't reading this, it actually makes logical sense and does highlight an important perspective to think twice about.

Your problem is like many people's problems. You just have to have something new to do, well that's just not going to happen all the time. You should be logging on to have fun, PERIOD. I don't play this game unless it's with friends and I don't get on to mindlessly grind either.
-
1 ReplyYou speak the truth with regards to preordering. Unfortunately little Johnny will continue to nag mommy for her credit card so he can preorder. It's the little Johnnies that have ruined the gaming industry as a whole. Don't be a little Johnny. Don't preorder Destiny 2 until at least 2 weeks prior to release date.

3 RepliesEdited by Teejaay W: 11/7/2016 9:21:36 PMNot disagreeing with the content of your message but at close to 60 days played even if we ballpark high at $300 investment in destiny you've paid about 21 cents per hour on entertainment. That being said, statistically your part of the problem. With those stats on the economic rap sheet you're walking encouragement for them to keep at their business practices. To put it in perspective, you've spent about 20% of your free time in a two year period, operating under the assumption you work 40 hours a week and sleep the 8 hours recommended nightly. One of every 5 hours you're not working or sleeping playing Destiny. Those numbers tell Bungie that not matter how many salty posts you write you'll be buying whatever they try to sell you next. TL,DR: Actions speak louder than words.

If PVP has no Dedicated servers , NO sale .

Yah I'm preodering

Oh look, I think it's trying to communicate with us... Where's Variks when you need him?

Preordering as soon as possible
-
I'm still gonna pre-order when I can. Say what you will. Pre-ordering shows that you have faith in the game and it's development studio. Was Destiny not what people hoped for when it came out? Yes. Has Bungie learned from these past few years? Yes. While not everyone has agreed with some of the moves Bungie has done (most hate comments being about Trials, content, Vault Space, and weapon balancing), they are still trying. Maybe I'm just trying to bring positive atmosphere here, but I believe Bungie has the potential to make Destiny a great game. Which is why I'm gonna add Destiny 2 to my list of pre-ordered games. With Pokemon: Moon, South Park: The Fractured But Whole, and Kingdom Hearts 2.8 HD. Because that's my way of showing that Bungie can change.
