4 RepliesEdited by Scruffy: 8/15/2016 7:40:50 AMFirst few hours are amazing Then after a while you realise it's just go to planet mine leave repeat, most planets are super similar and are just throw away planets I was expecting something like this but not on this scale I thought a lot of planets would be unique and after 2 days (yes just 2 days) I was bored and I wish I didn't buy it and went back to r6. I go back every few hours and play for a while but each time I go back it's a shorter play session than the last. I'm assuming this game will be amazing if you give it a few months or maybe a year (hopefully not a year) but imo here's what needs to happen to it for it to be really good 1) make it easier to find planets you have already been to I'm assuming they will do this when they add base building (base building is confirmed in the next update in case you didn't know) bit if they don't then there isn't really a point to base building, like make a base then you leave and go to a different star system and can never find the base again 2) make it easier to play with friends/find random people I never thought I would say this but this game just sucks as a single player game, and I knew it would be a single player game I was actually kind of excited for there to be another good single player experience coming out when it's mainly multiplayer focused games because most people just want to play with friends. But damn this game needs something to spice it up, I knew it would be an exploration game but I expected it to have a lot of verity. Adding a multiplayer component would change the game a lot by adding more people to explore planets at the same time. 3) good factions I was told that this game would have 4 factions that you could join and it would change the whole game depending on which ones you helped, and if you helped one faction then another faction would hate you because of that. Well that isn't the case because as it currently stands I had 3/4 factions at max reputation in a day and the only reason it wasn't all four was because I didn't find the 4th one until a few days after the game came out 4) more variety This is the biggest one, I think this is the second or third time I've said it but most of the planets are super similar and are just plain boring to explore. Some I get there, say "meh this is like the 3 other planets in this star system" then leave right away because it's the same thing. And I seriously do not just want to walk around different planets that might as well he the same because they have the same kind of environment and creatures, except they are slightly different because one planet has some mountains that I'm not going to climb or one creature has a green horn instead of a blue one Don't get me wrong this game could be really good and I want it to be amazing but in its current state it's a solid 5/10
note I haven't gotten to the center yet
Edit: oh yeah I almost forgot it crashes a lot on ps4, I'm assuming they will put out patches that fix some of the crashing but expect at least to crashes pet day on ps4 (if you play for a long time) and in a game where you can't save manually that is really bad

3 RepliesGuess who called it out on looking repetitive and lacking variety? This guyyyy!

Edited by wojo55: 8/17/2016 6:23:35 PMGot it on PC. It's your run of mill of survival game just with more emphases on exploring and no base building (yet) Like survival games like subnautica you'll probably enjoy this. Never played one before which I'm positive is large number player looking at the complaints that other survival games never got flak for. Rent it first or try a cheaper survival game to see if your even a fan of the genre With that said it is overpriced

24 RepliesHow bout we all lower our fûcking expectations. Maybe that's the big issue here.
-
2 RepliesI want to get it, but I can't since I don't have a PS4, it's not on XBOX1, and my computer can't run it :(
-
1 ReplyGuess no one understands that procedurally generated planers would become similar because it's procedurally generated. I came looking for a space exploration game, and I'm happy with it.
-
Sean lied about multiplayer..... What a joke of a studio
-
No doubt. My friend won't even buy the copy I own for $40 based on reviews and other ppl he knows that plays it. The game is boring
-
4 RepliesA procedurally generated game of this magnitude... Didn't most people understand before purchasing it that many of the planets would be bland and repetitive?
-
36 Repliesmust be cool jumping on the hate bandwagon these days.
-
12 RepliesOnce you got a 48 slot ship, Exo suit and a strong multi tool there is really nothing left to do
-
I literally had to restart because i coulsnt progress. The building i had to get into was stuck in the air clipping into a mountain so the door was inside the mountain
-
1 ReplyMan, this game looks so exciting.....for the first couple planets, then what?? Then it looks to be boring and repetive like any other game on the market.
-
More grind than my 7 day honeymoon
-
Saving up for skyrim I'll get NMS later

2 RepliesI enjoy the game but it is exactly what I was expecting. A few of us were telling people not to hype it up and all it will be is a single player exploration game with a ton of grinding. I've got no idea why some people keep saying the devs lied about multiplayer, they said right from the start it won't be a multiplayer game. Quite a few of us kept saying it in threads here too. I've got no sympathy at all if people buy games without looking into them first.

The game is all about crafting and farming and of course exploration. But it's actually very linear, you have a path to the center you are going for, or a path to some point of interest. The game succeeds in giving off a sense of huge frightening scope, but the game size on ps4 is like 4 gigabytes, GTAV is like 50 GB..
-
I was really watching this game, but it's not multiplayer, so, yeah, no. If they ever introduce multiplayer I will buy it.
-
9 RepliesIt's a good game and exactly what I expected. I don't understand what people were expecting.
-
11 RepliesYeah Hello Games games didn't do a good job of hiding the "why am I playing this?" question. It's so boring & doesn't make we want to come back. The only reason why I keep trying to play is to get my money's worth. The only thing you do in this game is collect & upgrade things so you can collect better. The space combat is horrible & bare bones. I think the company got too caught up in how big they could make the game & forgot about most other things. It's Minecraft with 20% of the content
-
Bought it, I typically play it before bed
-
18 RepliesThe big problem here is the fact that the game is so big, when you create a giant universe, you can lie about so many things as a developer. I don't even really think it has 18 quintillion planets, just a speculation, on my part.
-
4 RepliesWell worth the money for me.
-
Personally i love the game(: haters gonna hate I guess.
-
I feel bad for spending $60 on this grindfest. I played it for a few hours and don't want to play it again because I've done all there is to do.
-
21 RepliesI regret my purchase aswell because the game crashed about 120 times no joke. And it corrupted my ps4. I had to factory reset it and reinstall all my games. Don't buy this crap please.
