The second amendment needs to be repealed
The only propose of a gun is to kill. That is what it was designed to do. that is what people use them to do. Why should you have the right to kill someone? What gives you right decide when someone lives and when someone dies? People can protect themselves without guns. There are non lethal ways of neutralizing and attacker. IE : tasers and pepper spray.
After the Australian gun ban gun related felonies dropped and so did overall crime rate after and small spike. Does Australia violate human rights and oppress its people?

Guns do not kill people but any one with a gun can. We cannot remove crazy people but we can get rid of guns. Although background check do help they are not always done properly or at all.
I am open to have an intelligent conversation but please stay respectfully of other peoples opinions.

Repealing the second ammendment will not help anything. It'll just make it so people being attacked will not be able to defend themselves effectively. The single deadliest terrorist attack. They didn't use guns. If I recall correctly, they used box cutters, which are very similar to knives, but still considered a tool. Getting rid of guns won't do crap. If anything, we'll have another Civil War.

Human beings have a fundamental right of self preservation. Every living thing on earth shares this right. As long as there are weapons in the hands of people who would hurt my family I have the fundamental right to use those same weapons to prevent them from doing so.

3 RepliesI should have the right to kill someone who is trying to kill me. Yes, there are non-lethal ways of self-defense (as a black belt in Hattatsu Ryu karate, I can understand this). However, those aren't always practical. There are situations in which someone is trying to harm you outside of your hand and feet range, i.e. with a firearm. Mexico also has incredibly strict gun laws, but it also has some of the highest gun murders in the world. Background checks are actually quite effective. If someone doesn't do his or her job correctly, he or she gets fired. That is how the workforce works. That goes for literally every job.

I'm sure everyone who reads this agrees with you. Especially the criminals and terrorists...who have guns. And will continue to have guns...regardless of any legislation...even when civilians can't have them. Oh, and the government too. They agree with you.

The second amendment exits because the founding fathers had the wisdom to forsee people like you. You've probably never been in real danger and sit in your comfy home making stupid assumptions. We've had so good for so long that some people just can't believe that society might collapse and you may just have to defend your family. Hell even in america during riots things can get real bad.

We didn't let slaves or the natives have guns and we slaughtered and enslaved them. You know why I support the second? Because I support slave rebellions before the people are enslaved. So maybe I'm totally wrong but being that so many have them I'm guessing illegal dealers would stock up and sell (of course a lot to criminals) and being that a lot of people feel strongly about their rights they wouldn't wanna give them up

Tasers are made only to electrocute. Taking away tasers in Australia dropped the rate of tasings that took place there.
