Oh hey a sniper, let me jus-

*Gets sniped* You know, I never minded snipers but they have become a problem in destiny lately. Everytime I go one on one with a sniper at close to medium range I die 90% of the time. And trust me I avoid sniper lanes as much as possible but a sniper should not be able to kill you when you're shoving bullets down their throat at close range. When you shoot at a sniper they are supposed to flinch not immediatly kill you. I get that people get lucky but this isn't luck. Snipers really need to be adjusted in destiny. My suggestion to adjusting the sniper class is to increase the flinch when shot or automatically zoom out, increase the zoom of snipers so it's more difficult to kill at short-medium range, and increase the amount of time it takes to aim down sights.

  • I see what you're saying, and I feel your pain. Snipers can pull off some ridiculous kills, seemingly defying all space magic laws. That being said, I've pulled a few of those stupid kills, even while being fired at. The flinching seems on point, as my screen shakes like hell when I'm getting shot at. The problem seems to be luck/aim-assist. As I'm getting shot at, if I snap my reticule in the right place, they will die often, even when they unloaded half a mag in me. Also, I think the ability of snipers to get kills so efficiently at med-close range is bs, but that's just my opinion. I'm fine with sniper damage, they should hit like trucks, it seems aim assist is the culprit.

  • Doing all of that would wreck snipers. Any single suggestion from the above list might fix whatever problem snipers have, but my problem personally lies in shoving bullets down their face, while strafing and then getting shot.

    • I hate being sniped as much as anyone. It's the number 1 thing I call bs on during banner( scouts 2nd) But leave em alone. And return ALL weps and gear to its original form. There's no fair in war. Just skill. If you don't have it. Then work on it. It's what I've been doing and still do. All weapons can be rediculous in the right hands. Ask all the guardians I kill with my zarnieae d. Scout range. Crowd control. 40 clip. And a host of others can attest to at least breaking even on average snipers. If a guardian is above average with any gun. It's a pain. But at same time it grooms your game around it all. The guardians from the start know this. We had to go through them all. Thorn. Hawkmoon. Vex. List goes on for days. The only reason we don't have that anymore is the bs nerfs. Leave it all alone and return it all back to original and return our year 1 stuff. Til I die or kill you on the banner field guardian

    • As stated before in a post that is very similar. In Trials it is an issue but norm PVP it's a doable situation. Especially with invisibility, Universal Remote and a side approach. Works every time, unless you miss the shot. How you miss a shotgun shot that close?

      • Well when you're playing against scouts, pulses, or autos you do flinch quite a bit (Think of putting your sniper on a very jumpy washing machine and trying to aim through that). I don't really use snipers too much, I just really hate the nerfs, it's making the game a lot less fun.

        • I feel like this idea I had might be one of the "better" sniper solutions. The more damage you take/lower health you are at. The more flinch you receive. Still can snipe, but no more "he was one shot and I'm spraying him with hawksaw/doctrine crap"

          • I totally agree [spoiler]the only ppl that defend snipers are the ones that use them as their primary[/spoiler] Among my friends we usually play together daily and out of the 5 of us 2 of us agree completely that snipers have broken the game 2 others just get very pissed off at snipers and are in between and 1 defends them with his life why? Because he uses them all the time [spoiler]i have a lot of passive/aggressive fights with him over the topic[/spoiler]

          • The problem is not snipers. They're balanced Buff the shit out of primaries. I mean Y1 kill time If you missed your first shot in year 1, you were already instantly two tapped by messenger or thorn across map. You couldn't double body people because you'd get melted by TLW This is coming from a shotgunner. Please, don't nerf snipers more. Just buff primaries

          • Are you a pulse rifle user? I tell this to everyone who has problems with snipers, try to get a good roll on a SUROS DIS-43 and snipers shouldn't be much of a problem anymore, assuming you are moving unpredictably and getting consistent headshots you'll makes snipers look like fools.

            • I feel like if technology has evolved as much as it has in destiny by now they should have auto aim snipers where you don't have to ads just have them in your view and the sniper will automatically get a headshot. These weapon manufacturers have wasted their time

            • This is why I don't understand the nerf on mida. The flinch it used to create was the best counter to snipers in this game. But honestly, you're correct op. All weapons should cause a sniper to flinch, or de-scope.

            • Theyve already added more zoom and more ads time. We had a sniper counter weapon with MIDA but everybody complained until they removed HCR. You just need to adapt. Everynody does. And accept the fact that a good sniper who has spent hundreds of hours using it is 90% of the time not gonna miss unless you straight up outplay him.

            • While I am not now and will probably not ever be a fan of the fact that people can "quick scope" in this or any other game, I've learned to deal with it and counter it. It's just a reality of gaming
