Just out of curiosity do you guys think that the reforge option should be brought back?
And just for weapons or for weapons and armour pieces?
Edit: Let's get this post trending so that a member of Bungie will notice this post and hear some of the communities thoughts!
Edit 2: There seems to be a common theme of "oh no everyone will have god roles again" in this topic. Can I just point out that in HoW many of the base stats for different types of weapons in that meta were horrible. Fusion rifles were completely unused. Hand cannons and shotguns ruled and so did perks like shot package and hidden hand. But in this day and age with the recent weapon balancing, every single type of weapon in this game is now viable and so is a vide variety of perk combinations. I wouldn't run two guns the same way if I could reforge. Now I am neither for or against reforging, I think that they're should be a half way point. But to simple scream "oh not the god roles" doesnt make for a very good argument.
And how much of a grind is too much of a grind?
Edit 3: Guys there are some really good ideas on this thread! Can we boost this as much as possible please in order for a dev to see it

5 RepliesEach reroll should cost 150 legendary marks.

2 RepliesNot trying to steal from division but the way they did there's would be a cool way to do it. Have it to where you can change one branch of the perks and give you a random choice of 2 to 3 options to change. This way you would still have to get a decent roll but if you have one thing you wish was different you'd have a chance at getting what you want in its place. But you could only change one branch and it would get increasingly more expensive each time you tried. Or just have it so you only get one shot per weapon.

7 RepliesGive the gunsmith the weapon, some materials, and wait until Arms day. You will receive up to 3 different rolls to choose from if your gunsmith is rank 3 or higher. If you are not happy with the rolls and would like to try again give him more materials to work with for next week. This weapon would take the place of a foundry order while the gunsmith is holding it for you.

I'm a primary pve player. I rarely, if ever, touch pvp. That said, I can see how how weapon reforging caused problems in the pvp arena. However, as a PvE player reforging was a great asset as allowed me to recoll a weapon to suit my needs and play style. If they do bring it back perhaps it should come back in a different form.

Edited by Yb91xTitan1x: 7/13/2016 12:48:35 AMyes. but i think they need to nerf it a little. maybe where you can only reroll it a couple times per week. the biggest complaint i have with the way things are now.....and why i completely stopped doing the raid (after only a handful of runs) is because guns dropping with crap rolls. that's what i miss about year 1. you knew if you did the raid and got a drop (eg- fatebringer, vision of confluence) - it was going to be good. you had something to shoot for. and it wasn't going to have stupid perks like exhumed/guerilla fighter/ take a knee. if we went back to static stats on raid weapons, we wouldn't need reforging. i think Bungie just took reforging out to lengthen the amount of farming that needed to be done to actually get a usable weapon.

Yeah!

Yeah I'd like reforging back. Maybe a reforge similar to the exotic armor reforge you can do now. Wait for xur, buy some special element from him for strange coins and then you can reforge your weapon.

2 RepliesEdited by DSharp018: 7/12/2016 6:14:12 PMI would prefer a bounty based weapon modification system, where you can get certain perks/scopes/balistic options for certain guns, based on a rotating (not RNG, as in an actual pattern) system of objectives that you complete for each part. This would allow players to "build" their own version of the weapon. Which if you ask me is about 10 times as cool as getting one of these so called "God rolls" Furthermore, it would do cause players to feel more attached to their gear. It wouldn't just be something you found on the ground and decrypted, it would be something you found, adventured with, upgraded, and made it your own. A little bit like the necrochasm quest, but with 7 times more awesome and 7 times less BS.

I think they should, but they should make it quite hard to do so, and only once per weapon.

7 RepliesI've got everything I want in this game. Except for a God roll eyasluna, that's all I want, I do shaxx bounties on 3 characters every week for like 5-6 months now. I do a stupid amount of crucible every night. I keep playing way past the point of having fun, just playing hoping for a lucky drop. Not only does it drop once per 30 hours spent in crucible, but when it does its Exhumed and danger close every time. I've put in way too much hard work and effort for this, at least 4-6 hours a night. I don't play trials anymore because you can't get it from trials. I have earned this, but I don't have it. Im scared in ROI(year 3) it will stop dropping and I'll never get this gun with the roll I want. While Ive seen the God roll drop for a level 39 with sub-2000 grimoire.

21 RepliesIt's funny seeing all the special snowflakes in here yelling about God roles. Do you rely that heavily on your range finder, rifled barrel party crasher and your hidden hand 1000 yard stare that you want to deny these weapons to the populace? I understand not wanting to flood the crucible with these weapons but jeeze people!

8 hours. 9 days. 21 hours. -blam!- no. You noob.
-
2 Repliesnot like it was , no. it was too easy to get god rolls on the weapons you wanted. if they restricted it somehow then maybe. (certain amount of rolls per week or something like that)
-
I chose yes, mostly because of the iron banner theme.

-
7 RepliesThat's what broke it before. You don't remember them saying that?
-
4 RepliesThey act like they took it out because of balance. Which is a bug fat lie. They took it out to extend the grind. Why get one rare weapon you can bump right up and reforge to get a perfect roll, when you can farm the same drop point over and over and hope for the best!

5 RepliesHow this conversation is going to go: Hardcore PvP and PvE players: no Casual PvE players: yes PvP only players: yes Bungie: not on my watch
-
2 RepliesReturn of the btrd and matador I'm good thanks, the guns can change but the anal wreckage would still be there
-
2 RepliesNo. I would suggest the game remove useless perks, and we would not need reforging to get that God roll.
-
2 RepliesYes, just make the glimmer and material cost increase each time. This might prevent ppl from re-rolling to get the god roll and settle for useful ones. Nothing sadder than finally getting a longbow from crucible packages over 80 I would say and not getting any perks that u like or suit your playstyle.
-
It needs to be more like diablo. You can only alter 1 perk from a weapon, once you re roll that perk. It costs significantly more currency per re roll, until each roll is all of your glimmer and 100 motes. This would make it so players would eventually stop re rolling and want to get a new weapon. Keeping the element of joy when you get a weapon. In house of wolves, once you had a god roll, that's it. You are done. Yoy get that weapon again. Who cares, I don't...
-
1 ReplyDidn't vote, but I would be fine with it, if the cost was 25 marks and an unencrypted legendary engram of the same type.
-
2 RepliesYes they should but cost motts and glimmer and marks.
