I use one 3oC every crucible match and get one exotic in every 5 matches by using 5 3oC over the course :)

Well, I tried this yesterday on the inferno playlist. 20 matches and not one exotic. The crucible hates me.

Do you know if the exotic have a chance to drop whether you win the match or not?

Yes you can get an exotic engram on a loss.

I'll have to try it that way. So far I have had crap luck using them in matchs
