Yes it can be done. With some hard work, grinding and luck. I have never raided, done The Trials Of Osiris, or The Prison of Elders Level 42. Nor will I until they get matchmaking. I reached 335 by doing Heroic Strikes, The Court of Oryx and a lot of Iron Banner (and all solo). I post this today to give hope to those out there that don't want to humble themselves at LFG or don't have a lot of friends standing by to team up with.
Edit: You can also get some great drops if you use the TOC on patrol missions in the Cosmodrome. I have been bagging exotics on the Blight Mission, The Troll Patrol and any of the Taken Champions that pop up there (and on other planets).

Sooo.... if anyone ever wanted to make a master list of salty-without-a-cause (#ignoranceisbliss #yolo) players... Scroll on down for a read. There is actual true anger and resentment, reproach, malice, confusion and just insults flung at the OP for.... attaining 335 Light by IB and Court. ...... You guys need Jes-... Azzir.
-
14 RepliesCurious though , how? IB is only dropping legs, class items, heavy and primary and occasionally a ghost. Where did you get 335 chest, helmet and arms? Exotic engrams? Faction and other rank up packages cap at 330, only 335 item from CoE is artifact. I ask because all I need is a chest and arms and I can be 335, but can't for the life of me get them to drop in the raid or POE or from a exotic engram.

1 ReplyEdited by Barrier: 5/2/2016 3:05:15 PMThat is why this system isn't built to last. In the Fall Bungie will go right back to the "Forever 29" stage where raiding/teams are required. This system was used in the HoW because Bungie said they wanted everyone in the same place easily before the next Expansion.

Two people to do nightfall or CoE are so easy to find these days. You don't need mic or any special light level, are very doable missions.
-
Well you're missing out... A lot
-
Well now your an example for a Solon player, now people can stop complaining about raid matchmaking. No i do not want it
-
Kudos...you're living the dream man...
-
3 RepliesStill urge people to complete each raid at least once just for the experience. Honestly one of if not thee best part of Destiny.
-
Congrats! If you'd ever like to try a raid and are on 360 or X1 maybe I can help out sometime
-
Thanks... This gives me motivation to keep grinding.
-
3 RepliesNo point in being 335 if you will never do end game content where lvl matters....
-
You sir, are awesome and I hope your story increases the sodium level among those players that would present their amount of game completions in front of everyone like it is some type of achievement to be dedicated to a game.
-
Edited by Wowbagger: 5/2/2016 3:06:27 PMwell done, doubt there are many of us left who have not raided and avoided LFG - to also get max light is pretty impressive now. Hope Bungie keeps this way of upgrading light permanently as it allows for all types of players to reach highest light. Though I suspect desperation to keep the biggest player base is what brought them to these changes.
-
14 RepliesThat would be my goal. No raids and to get to 335. Do you need a 3 tear coin to get the 335 artifact from the court? My lowest light item now at 320
-
You are aware that they don't have matchmaking for a reason right?
-
So you can post this blog post but can't write "lfg night fall"?
-
Why bother get max light if you're not playing end game?
-
Do the raid man it's fun
-
That sounds incredibly boring but to each their own. The raid is tittays.
-
Bungies update was a success, this is exactly what they wanted. Congrats
-
Congrats
-
Then you haven't finished the game yet.
-
99% of the time, I play solo every time. Congrats! I'm a fellow loner, mainly, and happy that you played the game however you enjoyed it the most. Ignore any hate or judgmental feedback. Everyone should play however he/she wants to without criticism.
-
1 ReplyIt should have been this way from the beginning of Destiny. Destiny was advertised as a game for everyone but in actuality only elite players could reach max level.
-
Bravo, sir. I applaud your effort and fortitude in sticking to what you love most about the game. You've reached a Light level that...well... has become a number to a pointless standard. Light level has really only become a desire to be fondled by the glass half-empty's... the please-me-now and the ever unsatisfied. It's a point of enjoying the game, no matter which part of it, and Bungie giving opportunity to be awarded to the current max. Why should only raid do that? Why should only pvp? You get other awards for such closed standards, attaining max light is... frankly... just a by-product and tertiary goal.

I should be higher light but I'm burned out of grinding
