Raids "welcoming community"
I have spent a total of 5 hours getting kicked off raid teams because i have no mic or don't know what to do. I make sure i start easy and watch the walkthroughs, i don't do hard raids if i haven't done normal. I make sure i get the recommended gear ready, like the spindle for KF. I even state it's my first time. So now, i'm giving up on fresh runs. How can i ever freaking get accepted. If i post "fresh run, my first time" no one joins. My friends are too clueless for the complicated raids like KF and i don't have 10 hours to walk slowly through it. I'm just going to look for a boss CP so i can get the shader or something.
edit- I now see a mic is a crucial part of raiding. Its just I've done NF without it np. so i thought it would be similar in a raid because i found Crota (nearly at crota msg for inv) similar. but it's a bit hard not to get salty after 5 hours of getting booted off raids. I think i'm just going to stick to doing the Y1 raids i never had enough light to do in Y1 with my friends.

Edited by HeadahhGang: 5/1/2016 2:38:39 PMJust gotta find the right people, personally i know how to run the raid normal and hardmode perfectly even with every boss challenge (not gloating) and i dont use a mic at all, simply for the fact that i just really dont talk, i have a really good circle of friends that play destiny now that i met off LFG sites such as DestinyLFG.com or DestinyLFG.net, i prefer .net as it allows you to customize your posts better, but i met most of the people i play with on destiny regularly now from lfgs sites, also there is really only two reason you would be getting kicked for, 1. obvious asshole players that dont give no mics a chance. 2. you simply keep dying or dont know the mechanics of what ever raid your running. really simple to that, theres been plenty of groups i joined stating that i didnt have a mic but i told them i knew what to do and have completed alot of raids that went from start to finish along with a few of the randoms even adding me based off of how well i did that game, so really its the people you find man.

Stopped reading as soon as I saw "don't have a mic" combined with "don't know what to do"... Bad combo and of course you're gonna get kicked....

Hey man,just relax and bask in the glow of knowing you can reach max light without raids. I started looking on this forum for raiding parties months ago,and all the requirements were so elitist I just decided I wanted no part of it. It's a video game.I play it to have fun.To be honest,it's the first FPS I have ever enjoyed enough to play for hours at a time...pretty much every day since the beginning of last December(aside from a week or two hiatus before the update) I'm pretty sure the majority of Destiny players are the same as me.On the strikes and in POE everyone is dancing and jumping around during the lulls and after the win. More power to the guys who raid constantly.I hope they really enjoy it.I think most guys on this forum aren't representative of the average player out there.I see a lot of bitterness in here that just doesn't seem to be present inside the game. Hit POE if you haven't already...do some strikes and rank up your factions and vanguard.I'm having a blast with it and I hope you will too.

Dude. Get yourself a mic. Nobody wants someone on their fireteam who can't communicate with the whole team, especially after saying you dont know what to do in the raid.

Get a mic and find someone carrying. You got the short end of the stick because you started so late so now most of the population doesn't want to deal with noobs. And if you don't have the time then that's just too bad. It's supposed to be and endgame activity that not everyone can beat.

2 RepliesSeriously the community has a retarded amount of how to videos. Plenty of documentation. If you magically have light to do hard raid the learn up. I ran into the CE issue with fresh guys pretending they knew what to do. I booted them for wasting my time. I'm willing to teach. No mic and TTK is rough when your clueless.

34 RepliesYou are trying to join Raid groups with no mic? That is likely the problem. Communication is extremely important in Raid encounters so players usually require you to have a mic to join their Fireteams.

2 RepliesI did all Y1 activities (except, but almost Lighthouse) without a mic, so trust me when I say I feel you. Killing Skolas when my team had no mic was no easy challenge. Now, with king's fall I had to get a mic, because there's way to many callouts to make to be ignored. That being said I just did a full run on normal with 3 people in the party that had no mic, so it's definitely possible, but you need patient and skilled people. Short answer : get a mic. Not only it makes endgame much, much easier to achieve, but (I know it sounds cheesy) you also meet a lot of nice people from all over the world (in a run there was a guy from Netherlands, one from the UK, one in the USA and I'm in Canada) and it makes the game that much more fun. How much did you spend on this game? You can get a chat headset for $25. Good luck raiding without it. I have over 300 raid completions, my mic shit the bed on me [b]and even my friends wouldn't do the raid with me.[/b] get a mic asap, that's what I did.

Buy a mic, it's crucial to communicate in the raid dude. They aren't expensive.

3 RepliesYou did a NF so you though a raid would be same? A raid is more complex. Its not just shooting enemies. Its about timing. The fact you have never done it makes it difficult. If something kills you rest of the team needs to know so other players can help stop it from happening.

As long as 1 person that knows what they're doing has one then they can just communicate strategy, when to do stuff, etc. I've found it more efficient when it's just one person talking rather than everyone rambling on about unimportant stuff or trying to freelance everything

On PlayStation you can use any headset with a mic even the iPod headphones work. I'm not to sure if Xbox is the same. Not having a mic is probably the main reason you are getting kicked. Especially if you have never done the raid before communication is huge even if it's just to let the team know what position you will be playing.

Referring to your edit: mice is very essential in the raid for communication. In Nightfalls, there doesn't need to be much communication because it's a strike. Raids is puzzles and mechanics that everyone needs to know what's going on pretty much the whole time. Sometimes I do runs with people who haven't done it or have very little knowledge in it. It's going to be difficult for someone like me to help you through the raid, explaining things to you and helping you get a better understanding of what's going on and why when you don't have a mic. How can you ask questions? If you can't ask questions, how in the hell could you ever expect to learn. Communications is key. It's said all the time because....it is. You seem eager and willing to do what is needed to learn your way through and eventually become a competent raider. I'd be willing to help you through and explain wings to you so that you can become more proficient as you move ahead on your own, but you'd need s mic. My advice join a clan and tell them about you become active and help ppl out and ppl will help ya back. It's 10x times better to do anything with a dedicated teams than doing it with strangers in LFG. P.S join a small clan 20-60 ppl in it don't join the 500+ clans because for the most part they operate as LFG.
